The cottage is located on Little Platte Lake, ideal for fishing, kayaking, paddle boarding, hiking, biking, and wildlife viewing. Winter activities include ice fishing, snow showing, snowmobiling, and cross country skiing. The cottage is located on a private road in a quiet community, but close enough to all that northwestern Michigan has to offer. The charming towns of Beulah, Empire, Frankfort, and Glen Arbor are within 10-20 minutes of the cottage.
If you enjoy fishing and boating, the Little Platte Lake boat launch is a few minutes out the drive on Saffron Road. You can also launch at nearby Platte Point to access Lake Michigan. Launch a kayak or stand up paddle board directly from our 100 feet of private shore line.
With 3 beds and a queen sleeper sofa, there are a variety of sleeping options. If you like to cook, a gas range and charcoal barbecue are available for your use. You can also try your open fire cooking skills over a bonfire near the lake. The kitchen is well equipped, however we don’t have a microwave at this time.
If you want to unplug during your time away, we keep a variety of board games and books in the cupboards. The spacious yard is great for outdoor games.

Peace and quiet!!
Although the weather didn’t cooperate, we enjoyed our stay at your place! It was centrally located to the other cities we'd plan to visit. With the weather, we found ourselves being inside more than normal. The living room furniture could use some attention. The queen bed was very nice. The shower needs some TLC too…hardly any water would come out at all.

Cozy and happy
Our family of four found a perfect getaway--frozen lake, board games, nearby activities. Hoping to return when it's warm.

Winter Getaway
It was a great little cabin on a pretty lake. We spent a lot of time ice skating on Little Platte Lake. Very quiet location and great mix of winter outdoors and cozy cabin life. Queen bed for my wife and I that shared a large bathroom with kids room (two double beds) on other side of cabin. It was very clean and everything was operational. Lots of kitchen utencils and good amount of spices as wrll. The location is ideal, just south of Leelanau and all its wonders. It was about 10 minutes south of Empire, and the bluff hike there is magnificent. We had dinner at local breweries/distilleries. It's close to Iron Fish distillery, St. Ambrose Cellars, and others. About 20 minutes South of Sleeping Bear too. Great place and great time. We'll definitely be back!

Great Cabin
The property is very nicely updated, clean and has a great kitchen with all the spices and little things you need to cook but are to many to bring. It's very private and secluded. We had a great time.

Weekend Reset
Absolutely loved this little cottage on the lake! The home is very cozy and the view of the lake is so peaceful. I spent some time at night out on the ice under the moon and stars, complete silence and bliss. I will definitely come back!

Quiet Getaway
Overall, we enjoyed our stay here. We came during off season and it was perfect for us because we liked the seclusion and privacy. The cabin had everything we needed in the kitchen and very nice fluffy bath towels. The shower pressure wasn't great and the shower/toilet layout in general is kind of awkward for the space but we knew that going into it with the pictures. The sunrises were beautiful to watch in the morning with a cup of coffee.
Only improvements would be to the keypad deadbolt lock. The deadbolt sticks and can be difficult to lock & unlock. Also, I'd suggest hiding a spare set of keys somewhere on the property because the battery on the deadbolt died while we were out and we ended up having to crawl through a window accidentally left unlocked to get inside. The owner was very quick to respond to this issue via text message.

Cute & Cozy Cottage - great fall get-away!
The cottage was clean, everything we needed was provided, and the setting is very quiet with a nice lake view. The location is a perfect home base for exploring the Sleeping Bear Dunes and the Leelanau Peninsula. Our stay was short, but we really enjoyed it!

Great quiet area
Had a great stay on the Little Platte Lake. Very quiet. Pretty view. Nice open cottage with updated kitchen. More than enough room for 2 people. Right in the middle of everything we wanted to see and do. Would definitely stay there again.

Quiet, cozy space
Close to southern parts of Sleeping Bear, and easy drive (30 minutes) to the northern sections. Very quiet area, comfy beds, dark at night for great sleep. The cabin has the basics - but no microwave. Rowboat on property, though we didn’t get a chance to try it. Empire and Honor are closest towns and they are tiny! Drive a bit further to Frankfort or Glen Arbor for more options of food, coffee shops, breweries.

Lovely quiet spot, great location
We enjoyed our stay in the little cottage on Little Platte Lake. Fitted out with what we need for a short stay, nice to not need to bring bedding and towels. We loved sitting on the deck looking out at the lake, ducks, geese, herons, beaver, Moon, stars, and Jupiter.

Close location to many beautiful areas
My sister visited from Utah and had never been to Michigan. We had a great time at the cabin and many places surrounding it. Very nice location to many of the hot spots to visit! Only one thing I feel would be very helpful to add to the accessories list would be a microwave.

Dune and Lakes Getaway
Great no-frills, but a comfortable and well-equipped cottage. Superior location on Little Platte Lake with a great view of the lake. In late March there was no one around, which made it nice. Superb location for exploring Sleeping Bear Dunes National Forest and surrounding towns.

Peaceful Christmas enjoyment
Thank you so much Renee and David, we enjoyed ourselves immensely! This precious cottage had every amenity my husband and I needed to enjoy a quiet holiday with our daughter. We cooked our holiday meal, played games, had a campfire by the iced over lake and played fetch with our dogs in the snowy back yard. We went out and about one afternoon to see some of the sites, dogs in tow, even climbing a little ways up Sleeping Bear Dunes and enjoyed a few of the shops that happened to be open in Glen Arbor.
We love the layout of this cottage! The beds had the most adorable winter season art statement “painted” onto the deliciously soft covers, so we took plenty of pictures to show our friends. The mattresses... ARE SO COMFORTABLE, we slept like babies. Thank you for sharing your accommodations with us! We loved every minute of it! I would recommend this place over and over again and would love to visit again come summer!!! ❤️❤️❤️

Great location!
Cozy little cabin in a beautiful setting. It was perfect for 2 adults and our two boys. Close to the Dunes, Empire, Frankfort, Glen Arbor, and even not far from Traverse. Near Crystal Mountain for skiing. We will definitely come back next winter. Very clean property.

Cozy lake cottage
The cabin was just as advertised! Super cozy and cute filled with ultra soft blankets and pillows. Also, it had lake access and a fire pit. They had a lot of resources available about the area, a few games and a surprising number of snacks, condiments and spices (of course those probably vary). The owners were very responsive to any of our questions! We really enjoyed our stay - which was a long weekend. Our only hangup was the water pressure for showers was still pretty low (though maybe could be improved with a different shower head?) - fine for the weekend but not sure I’d want to have that for an extended period of time. Overall, definitely worth a stay!

Relaxing get-away
We had a wonderful time at this cozy ,clean cottage with the amazing view over the lake. Very close to everything we wanted to do and see in the area. The cottage was well equipped, clean and as pictured( only the deck could need some restoration). Our family enjoyed sitting by the fire at night, grilling, fishing ,exploring the area....We definitely would stay here again.
