About this chalet rental
The Chalet at Patricia's Place is a splendidly renovated log cabin that is nestled atop a private cove in Maggie Valley. Spectacular views await you at this tranquil retreat, yet it is still conveniently located within minutes of the many attractions in Maggie Valley including the Cataloochee Ski Area and the Blue Ridge Parkway. It is only a 30 minute drive from Asheville, North Carolina.
Enjoy rocking on your chair or grilling on the deck while you marvel at the 180 degree mountain views and take in the mountain air. This chalet-style cabin is equipped with many modern amenities, such as heated tiled bathrooms with a glass shower, Jacuzzi tub, and its own sauna, a wood burning stove fireplace, ceiling fans, comfortable beds with luxury mattresses, updated kitchen with stainless steel appliances, and a covered parking area.
Perfect romantic getaway for two. Relax in the cabin or adventure out to the many exciting attractions that are within 30 minutes of the home: The Blue Ridge Parkway, Cataloochee Ski Resort and Ranch, Harrah's Casino in Cherokee, Ghost Town Village, Elk Watching, Great Smoky Mountain National Park, The Wheels of Time Museum, Lake Junaluska, Downtown Waynesville, and Folkmoot Festival.
Because the property is on a mountain, we are not responsible for weather-related access to the chalet. During winter months, we strongly recommend taking a 4-wheel drive vehicle to get to the cabin. Parking for a trailer is not available. Motorcycles are restricted on the property, and no trailering vehicles allowed due to access issues.

Quick weekend getaway in this little secluded cabin is just what we needed. The shower was amazing! Host left us some fresh eggs and herbs which we gladly used up with our first breakfast.

Last minute trip Maggie Valley area for a much needed break. Home was beautiful and enjoyed our time there. Nothing but beautiful scenery and quiet time.

All was good. Very nice place.

The property itself was beautiful. Unfortunately one of the highlights was the jacuzzi tub which was left without instructions for use. And the grill outside was inoperable. Meals were planned for the grill. It would also be wise to inform guests that a 4 wheel drive is required both summer and winter.( in winter only a snowmobile would be capable of making the driveway passable! An in person meeting with the sponsor would have alleviated any of these issues.

Loved the house, and the view was great

The property is very easy to, It was raining and I did not need a 4 / 4 to get to the property.. The only hiccup was the baking pans need to Replaced.
Tom is one hell of a host

I can’t begin to tell you how much we enjoyed your home. It’s absolutely beautiful. So beautiful that I am saving you in my favorites for a future stay. Btw, the cookies were fabulous

Enjoyed our stay. Recommend arriving during daylight on initial arrival to navigate the road to cabin. Beautiful view. Cabin was perfect

My husband, son, and I stayed here for the weekend and we were extremely comfortable and in awe of the views. We brought our 2 small dogs who also were very comfortable. Thom was a great host who was easy to communicate with and responded quickly to any questions we had. One thing to note is that a 4 wheel drive vehicle was very beneficial in getting up to the cabin.

The chalet was the perfect location in which to access the Nantahla Forest and southern Great Smokey Mountain National Park. After hiking all day it was nice to relax on the front porch and enjoy the 180 degree view of the surrounding mountains. The chalet itself is nicely furnished, private, and quiet. We suggest your first arrival be done during daylight hours, as there are quite a few turns on a narrow road as you make your way up the mountain.

Great location to view fall colors.

This cabin was wonderful! It was such a beautiful place to relax and enjoy the scenery and the peace and quiet. We got the best nights sleep here, and the bathroom spa was incredible. Thom had everything you could need there, and the communication with him was great. We only got to stay one night, but definitely hope to be back in the future!

We enjoyed this lovely and homey cabin very much! The porch with the rocking chairs and amazing view of the mountains was our favorite spot. Cabin had everything plus thoughtful note and snacks from Thom the owner. He was so easy to communicate with and provided everything we needed. Cabin is remote yet minutes from everything. Loved it!

We stayed at the Chalet at Patricia’s Place on our way home from the coast. It is a beautiful property where you feel at home as soon as you walk through the door. The amenities are amazing. You feel like you are alone on the mountain but still have easy access to shopping and restaurants. Thom is a wonderful host. He even left us tomatoes from his garden! We will definitely return when we can stay longer. Thank you for everything Thom!

Great home for a getaway

Patricia Place's A-frame design created a high ceiling with several large windows at the upper level plus glass sliding doors which belied the 1,100 sq. ft. - it felt large. The furnishings were very comfortable and included three recliners - all the necessary kitchen and household equipment were provided. The two bedrooms and bathrooms make it ideal for up to four adults.
Our only "gripes" related to the mountainside location - as coastal Floridians we didn't fully absorb earlier comments about this aspect. The "walk around" area outside was quite restricted - there was a small patch of grass between the garage and the cabin with four chairs and a firepit and 10' wide spaces on two sides of the cabin - not enough to really stretch your legs. The other issue was the road leading up to the cabin - it was steep, narrow, gravel and quite rutted in places. Fortunately we had a 4-wheel drive vehicle but it wasn't fun going to and from the cabin.
The peace and quiet were wonderful - a young doe elk visited - and Lake Junaluska and the North Carolina Arboretum are "must sees."

The road is a little "challenging" if you're not used to mountains, but once at the end of the street....BEAUTIFUL! So peaceful, private, the cabin was cozy (we even had a fire one chilly morning), clean & everything we needed was there...even cupcakes & a nice note welcoming us! Thom, the host, was so accommodating and friendly & couldn't be nicer, willing to do whatever needed to be done to make our vacation a truly memorable one! And it truly was memorable!!!

We enjoyed the tranquility of our stay! The beautiful sunrise was also a hit. We’ve never seen an elk that size with such an impressive rack and his lady too. We did, however, hear him boasting his prowess later that evening‼️
The loose gravel on the last section of the drive was challenging until we got used to it, but I wouldn’t want to drive it in the winter! We enjoyed our stay and have it bookmarked for the future.

This was my first time in a short-term rental home. I wasn’t sure what to expect. But the reservation process went smoothly, the home was as described and the overall experience in the home was wonderful!
The one-lane road up the mountain to the home is narrow and steep. The lower section is paved but soon turns to gravel. You pass several other homes on the way up and must navigate a tight switchback. The first time in was a little confusing and thought certainly I had taken a wrong turn somewhere. But if you just follow the road, it takes you right to it. Once you arrive you are rewarded with an authentic mountain home with real charm and character. It sits on a steep mountain side completely surrounded by dense woods. The immediate area around the house and parking areas are flat, trimmed, and easy to walk around. You can either park within a few feet of the house or under a roof a few more steps away. I found the home to be clean, comfortably furnished and had all the details one would typically find in a well-appointed residence. Very cozy. Sitting outside on the covered porch in the early morning as the sunlight crept across the treetops, listening to the sounds of nature with the mountain view to the south was the very best part!
Thank you, Thom! Your home is amazing and you are a great host!

Had a mist charming and delightful time with family and beagles in this wonderful house and Thom the host is great

This cabin is a gem, close to the town yet you have complete privacy since it’s located at the end of the road. Thom is a marvelous host… baked goods upon arrival were a nice surprise. When we encountered minor issue, Thom had it taken care of within a few hours. We will come back. Thank you.

This cabin was everything we were looking for. If you are looking for crowds and tourists, this is not for you. The cabin was clean, well stocked and had an amazing wrap around porch with gorgeous views! One morning we woke up and we were literally in the clouds!
Maggie Valley is such a friendly little town with just the right amount of souvenir shops. A short drive to the Smokey Mountains, restaurants etc.
Thank you Thom for sharing Patricia's Place with us, it was a wonderful getaway!

Great cabin and location.

Perfect get away for a family of four. Property manager Thom was awesome and very easy to communicate with. Close to town, but just far enough away to feel secluded. The views are amazing. We certainly plan to return soon.

We had a wonderful family vacation! The cabin was beautiful. We had a stunning view of the mountains from the porch. Just dreamy! We also loved the sauna and jetted tub. The property owner was thoughtful and welcoming. Highly recommend.

Patricia’s Place was exactly what what we were hoping for. A cute, quiet reprieve from our normal everyday hustle and bustle lives. Perfectly located halfway up the same mountain as Cataloochie ski area. This made for a quick ride to ski and to town.

The property was absolutely beautiful! When we arrived we were greeted with a welcome note and sweets to enjoy. Mountain views from every room. The porch had rocking chairs and the view of the Great Smoky Mountains is breath taking. The chalet is very private but so close to town and neighboring. The kitchen, bath, and bedrooms all comfortable and well stocked with basics. We went into town for food and cooked breakfast and dinner each day. The fire pit was great as well for those cold nights. There is a fireplace in the living room but we never used it. My family and I enjoyed our time at Patricia's Chalet and recommend it to anyone thinking of staying in the area.

This is our 3rd time in 3 years we have stayed here and it has always been a pleasure. The cabin is in great shape and we really love the sauna. The owner is so nice he even invited my son who is 13 to help learn how to train his 3 horses. It was such a great experience. Will definitely return again

We enjoyed the seclusion, the cabin was beautiful and bathroom was top notch.

Great short getaway - the listing doesn't do it justice. Thom is amazing, the location was fantastic, the property was well-equipped and clean. My only complaint is that we couldn't stay LONGER!!! I could have spent a month here happily. I hope to be able to come back.

We decided to stop in Maggie Valley for a few days enroute to Tulsa for the holidays . Thom ( the owner) was so kind and even left us some yummy cookies and fruit upon check in . The cabin is adorable! It’s clean and cozy . Sitting by the fire looking at the Blue Ridge mountains was so relaxing . There is also an amazing shower with a steam option that will make you feel like you’re in a spa! I highly recommend this property ! Thanks Thom!!

The cabin was very clean and comforting. Thom was very good about communicating with me. We enjoyed the fireplace and getting away from the noise after a night walking around in Gatlinburg. We would definitely recommend staying here to anyone that has a vehicle with all wheel or four wheel drive.

The house is ideal, and everything in the listing was in working order. The host was communicative and left us eggs and cupcakes! We’ll be back!
