About this house rental
Maple Cove Hideaway is magical! The entire front of the house is covered in glass allowing unobstructed water views out to Camano Island, Hat Island and the snow capped Cascades, including Mt. Baker, in the background. The end of road privacy combined with the sensational views is truly amazing! Double french doors open from the family room on to a large, 500 square foot deck that brings you even closer to the water. Enjoy a cup of coffee on the deck and watch the sunrise over the Cascades, have a meal at the table overlooking the water or leave the french doors open to bring the outside in.
The cabin is less than two miles from the charming artist town of Langley. Great restaurants, a micro brewery, coffee shops, shopping, grocery store, live theater and an old fashioned movie theater are just some of the attractions in Langley.
The cabin has been completely renovated from roof to foundation. It's very cozy with a gas fireplace and a modern rustic vibe. A fully equipped kitchen is only missing your mad cooking skills and ingredients from the local farmers market to produce gourmet meals. Curl up in the cozy family room to watch a movie (Netflix is provided) or be entertained by the "Amazon Echo".
There is a sleeping loft upstairs with a comfy queen size bed and an extra long twin bed. There is also a queen, high quality sofa bed in the family room. This is not your typical marginal sofa bed; it's very comfortable. Two floor to ceiling windows upstairs provide a great place to watch the world go by.
Connectivity is great with 1 Gig Fiber internet and blue tooth connectivity to the large flat screen TV and sound bar with subwoofer to play your music from your phone. There are four conveniently located USB ports to charge your devices.
The cabin is accessible by car from the south via a 15 minute Mukilteo/Clinton ferry, from the north by crossing over the Deception pass bridge or from the west via the Port Townsend/Coupeville ferry. Once on the island drive times are approx.10 minutes from Clinton, 25 minutes from Coupeville and 1 hour from Deception pass. Regardless of how you get to the island you will immediately experience the slower pace of life on Whidbey and the friendly, welcoming residents.
There is so much to explore on the island. Go out for the day and come home to your amazing cozy cottage or stay in all day and unwind with a book, a good friend, a bottle of wine and enjoy the beauty and serenity of Whidbey Island and the Puget Sound. Maybe you will see a whale, a bald eagle or an awesome sunrise. Regardless, you will leave inspired. Let this be your relaxing home away from home. See you soon!

I had a great stay!!

Our third stay here was our best yet. The cabin is clean, the furniture comfy, the kitchen well equipped and the view spectacular. This place is a gem in our favorite neighborhood on Whidbey. Can't wait to return again next year!

Panoramic view, well equipped kitchen , comfortable bed, this place has it all. We had our bikes and easily went all over the island. We roasted marshmallows in the fire pit while enjoying the water view. We can’t wait to come back!

Absolutely perfect place and location, near everything but feels away from it all. My daughter and I walked to the beach, biked to the park, had a lovely rainy day at the shops, kayaked, hiked and saw live music all within a few minutes from the house. We loved the place so much that some of our favorite parts of the trip were just hanging out at the house. I had had my eye on this property for awhile and now that I've stayed there, will definitely be back, yearly.

This is the second time we have stayed at this cabin. It has been beautifully restored by the owners and I was very impressed with how well it has also been maintained. It still looked in perfect condition for our second stay.
The view is amazing and we spent lots of time sitting on the deck enjoying it as well and throughout the cabin. It's the perfect space for 1-2 people.
The steps are a little steep up to the sleeping loft but the owners and other reviews have made that clear. We didn't find it a problem at all.
The only difference in our stay this time was a lot of noise and activity from the neighboring property. They were doing loud work right next to the cabin and then they set up two campers while we were staying there - with electricity and water hookups. They access this part of their property with the little road in front of the cabin so there were people coming and going all day and into the night. The gate they have beeps multiple times, loudly, every time they open and close it. It was a lot.
Without window coverings in the cabin all that activity really affected the privacy of the cabin both on the deck and then especially at night when the 8 people staying in the campers were right outside the windows. This is totally out of the owners control and last time we stayed at the cabin we saw no one but if the neighbors are using that little road for accessing their property be aware of the noise and lack of tranquility.

Our stay at Maple Cove Hideaway was perfect! It’s a beautiful spot on the ocean, and the cabin is lovely. It was well stocked with everything we needed. We walked the quiet neighborhood and went down to the beach. The town of Langley is less than 10 minutes away with delicious restaurants and shops. It has an old movie theater in town which plays current movies on the weekend. That was great fun! We would love the stay Maple Cove Hideaway again!

Maple Cove Hideaway is absolutely the perfect place to stay on Whidbey Island. The view is incredible! Our whole
week was beautiful. We saw Whales, Eagles and sailboats.
It was hard to leave the deck and explore the island. The town of Langley is lovely. If we make it back to the pacific northwest we will definitely stay here again. Thank you for sharing your wonderful place!

My wife and I spent several days here and enjoyed our stay. The waterfront location was beautiful, included views of the mountains and we even saw the eagles. It was private, quiet and very convenient to town.
You can tell the owners were very thoughtful in the remodel and we appreciated their attention to detail. The cabin was very clean and well appointed.
We would echo a few points of awareness that other reviews have mentioned:
- the stairs are steep and with the first floor bathroom, it's not an ideal setup; it was okay for a few days, but would not want to do it longer
- the roof creaks and makes a lot of noise at night; we almost got used to it
- since there are limited window coverings, the early morning light may disturb folks that are not early risers
All in all, we enjoyed our stay and recommend this lovely property.

My wife and I had such a pleasant time at this home. The view was gorgeous, the house is very cozy and private, cleanliness is 10/10, and we felt comfortable all the days we were there.
Check in and check out process were a breeze.
A few things to note that may be a con for some:
The house creaks quite a bit, especially when fireplace is on and the heat elevate to the roof. It creaks throughout the night. Not a big issue, just something we noticed.
There are no window curtains for most of the windows, however, the property itself is very private. There are curtains around the windows with a direct line of sight onto the bed.
We used the Amazon echo quite a bit for music and someone must really love “Fly Me to the Moon” because that song kept replaying.

This place is amazing and the hosts have more extras in the house than I've ever seen before.
The view is great.
As is the location.
And it's quiet at the end of a road.
For most folks this house is ideal.
However, the stairs to the loft are steep.
If you have mobility problems or are just old and worried about falling down stairs, I'd pass up this place - as wonderful as it is.
If you don't have these issues - this is the best!

Relaxing and peaceful location. I read other reviews and brought sleeping masks. They are needed!
loved watching the eagles come thru during the day.

Our stay was absolutely incredible. To be honest, I went in with low expectations because the pictures looked too good to be true. To my surprise, the place was somehow even more magical than the listing??
Every detail of our stay was absolutely lovely. The place was super easy to find and check-in to. The space was incredibly clean and had a bunch of extra thoughtful details like binoculars with a bird book, lights for the stairs, super delicious coffee grounds, a blanket basket for the living room, board games, and even a complementary bottle of wine. Parking was a breeze and it was really nice to have our car so close and easy to access. The check-out list was incredibly reasonable, which feels rare these days!
And of course, the star of the show - the stunning view. Absolutely breathtaking. This is easily my favorite place I've ever stayed. We will absolutely be back.

Absolutely amazing property and just as it is listed. Attention to detail in the remodeling is stellar! Love the kitchen which is outfitted for gourmet cooking. Was concerned about the bathroom being downstairs from the bedroom for nighttime use. The custom lighting on the stairs made it safe to access without turning lights on. Brilliant! Had no trouble regulating the heat in the cabin in this open loft bedroom. This cabin is an excellent choice for a VRBO rental!!!!!

Maple Cove Hideaway location is a perfect location for lovely views of the sound & mainland. We thoroughly enjoyed exploring Langley and driving up Whidbey Island. The cabin is very clean, comfortable and well supplied with everything we could need. We definitely hope to return during summer or fall when we can enjoy more hiking and then return spending time out on the large deck. The owners completed an excellent remodel that's just perfect for two!

This spot was the perfect getaway for my husband’s and my anniversary. The place was charming and cozy, tucked away to give you privacy but close to the downtown Langley area for great dining and shopping. The views from this spot were breathtaking, we awoke to a gorgeous sunrise every morning too. We highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a lovely getaway!

Everything was perfect. We stayed during colder weather and really appreciated the heated bathroom. The views were stunning and we felt pampered. Can't wait to book my next stay.

I absolutely loved this house and location. The space had all the conveniences without being cluttered, especially for 2 people. Everything was super clean and organized. The weather was much colder than we anticipated, so we used the fire place a lot. There is a lovely outside deck, which we also didn't use much because of the cold, but I can imagine how great it is when there is good weather. Saw orcas from there, as well as bald eagles. They have a scope and binoculars for use. The grill and washer/dryer were great and useful. We brought eye masks because we are used to sleeping in very dark spaces. There are only a couple of window covers, as I imagine they want you to enjoy the view. There are other homes close by, but the house felt very private. The downtown Langley is only a 5 minute drive, and was a short drive from the Clinton ferry. We also drove to Coupeville for dinner at Oystercatcher (I highly recommend), and other parks. I already had a dream that we were going back there.

The host provided a cabin with furnishings that created a cozy and comfortable atmosphere. The views were outstanding. The morning chortles of roosting eagles were a highlight.

I really don’t want to publicize this property because we loved it so much we want to keep it all to ourselves for the next time we are in Langley. My only complaint? No shampoo! I can live with that.

The Hideaway is clearly well-loved and we are so grateful that it was shared with us. Excellent location for enjoying Whidby or the mainland.

We really enjoyed this property! Wonderful view, comfortable sitting spots inside and out. Very cozy and relaxing. Only negative was the bedroom is upstairs and the only bathroom was downstairs. But there is a pullout couch in the living room.

Perfect romantic get away location.

The home is a work of art. It was clean, very well outfitted, and beautifully decorated. We were amazed by the hi tech and attention to detail. We did need to drive to find a walkable beach. That said, this is an amazing waterfront experience both rain and shine. We particularly enjoyed the sunrise over the mountains across the sound and a lovely rainbow after the rain.
