Another lovely stay in Parker head! Lots of wildlife-eagles, herons, hummingbirds, a baby seal even peaked up from the water.
The water at Popham was almost warm and the waves were awesome!!!

Amazing location overlooking tidal pond. You hear the water pour in and out of the old dam. The bird feeders provided fun viewing. Short drive to the beach - near enough to Bath to drop in.

We loved our week at Julie's cottage. Off the main road, not in the heart of anything commercial but close to everything we'd want to do on vacation.

Excellent stay at this cozy picturesque cottage.

Simply loved our stay! The home is in a quiet area. The birds and the tides were lovely to hear and see. The host was very responsive to when we had a question, etc. She's thought of just about everything making our stay wonderfully relaxing and fun!

We wanted comfortable accommodations in a beautiful setting – and what we got exceeded out expectations. The beaches, woods-walks, and kayaking in the area were all superb; the house itself is so much nicer than the pictures; and every part of the transaction was as smooth as possible.

We loved our stay at Julie’s phippsburg cottage. The setting on the mill pond is so tranquil. The views are amazing including incredible sunsets over the water. The cottage is very comfortable- we were 4. It’s roomier than the pictures show. We had room for everyone to be together but enough space for work/ reading. The wifi worked very well. The kitchen is well appointed and has everything you need and extremely well organized and labelled Julie was very responsive to our questions. Being a quick drive to popham beach was great. Walking out to fox island at low tide was great. We went to Reid state park which had bigger waves than popham. Stopped at five lobsters for a great meal on the water. Did the hike at the bates college preserve to another great beach. So much to explore along the coast. We will be back!

Great waterfront location and view! Only an 8 minute drive to Popham Beach and 15 minutes to downtown Bath. Water views of tidal Mill Pond from almost every room. Our boys fished for striped bass from the back yard. The tides really rush into and out of the pond through the stone barrier just off the back yard, so you have a very pleasant sound of the ocean water if you have the windows open. Easily slept our family of four. (Plus an unused bed and cot) The well water has a slight sulfur smell to it, so we bought some spring water for drinking and cooking. A Britta filter pitcher might also work. Not a big enough issue to remove a star! Overall, a great property, and we’d happily return.

Our stay at Parker Head was just what we needed! Very quiet and so peaceful listening to the tide come in and out. The house was perfect and much better than pictures! Charming and homey. Nice to have pass to state parks and being so close to many places. We want to make this an yearly vacation spot!

The pictures and description on the VRBO web site don't do this cottage justice. It's large, comfortable, sunny, clean and very well appointed. The three bedrooms are more than large enough, two of the bedrooms have incredible view of the water. The kitchen has very good quality pots, pans, knives and almost every implement you could want. The Wi-Fi is fastest enough to support multiple streaming devices. It is located 4 miles from Popham Beach (the best beach in Maine). It comes with a beach pass that get's a car load of people in for free (a $10 a day value). We loved staying here.

my wife, our child and i stayed here for a week this summer and fund it a gorgeous, scenic and relaxing place. the view is stunning, the space large and luxurious, the location convenient and again quite scenic... i can't say enough good things. the pictures don't capture the size and character. a perfect maine escape.

The pictures really don’t do this lovely place justice. If you are looking for a classic summer cottage with great views, where you can truly unplug, this is it. This cute 1950's house has an airy open floor plan centered on an exposed brick fireplace, with views out to an inlet of the tidal Kennebec River all along one side. The tides flowing in and out over an old mill dam, fish jumping, and seabirds wheeling and diving for dinner make for a constantly changing view. Although the cottage backs up to a narrow secondary road to Popham Beach, cars have to slow way down to come through the little cluster of houses at Parker’s Head, and traffic noise is minimal; between 8 pm and 8 am, you might hear three cars pass. A large linden tree provides a visual barrier between the house and road, and extensive shrubbery screens the small back yard. The location is excellent for exploring the Phippsburg peninsula and Bath (be sure to visit the Maine Maritime Museum). But you may find yourself spending more time than you expected just hanging out at the cottage, enjoying the fresh breezes and beautiful views. The cottage itself is very comfortable but not luxurious, with pretty mismatched dishes and eclectic furniture, and shelves of books about boating and cooking and local history. It was well-equipped with everything we needed for a week's stay. The beds are on the firm side, so if you like a softer mattress you might want to bring your own mattress pad. (And the beds are all doubles, not queens.) Be aware that although there is good AT&T cell coverage, there really is no wi-fi here, and there are very few TV channels. I did more recreational reading in a week here than I had in the previous six months. If you go, review the owner’s 3-ring binder of notes early on; it contains useful and interesting information. All in all, it was a wonderful week at Parker's Head. I highly recommend this cottage for people interested in nature and history, who are looking for a peaceful and secluded vacation.
