Step back in time and relax in our 1930s beach home with ocean views from every room! Relax on the front enclosed porch while enjoying views of the dunes & ocean. Steps from the house, a boardwalk through the dunes opens up to 7 miles of sandy beach. You will be a short stroll from the center of Ocean Park, described below, and one mile from the Old Orchard Beach pier, amusement park, and bars. A perfect location on Maine's best beach! The kitchen and bathroom are not modern, but the views are timeless!
In the summer, Ocean Park bustles with shuffleboard courts, a Rec Hall, a library, ice cream soda fountain, gift shops, tennis courts and more. In the fall, some gift shops and one BYO restaurant remain open, and you will have plenty of peace and quiet! Less than one mile away, you will find the Old Orchard Beach pier and amusement park, restaurants, stores & bars. Through mid-fall, the arcade, and many bars and restaurants remain open but the rides are closed. Portland's restaurants and tourist attractions are about 20 minutes away.
The house is stocked with beach chairs, umbrellas, boogie boards, kites, beach toys, and two Stand-Up Paddle Boards (SUP) with two adult and two child life jackets. Bring your own beach towels, and you'll have everything you need for a perfect day at the beach at your doorstep.

This is the second time our group of friends has stayed here to just enjoy a simple weekend at the beach. The hosts are very responsive and the house was beautifully stocked with kitchen items as well as beach chairs, games, puzzles and books. The quiet location can't be beat with amazing views of the beach and easy access immediately across the street. We left here rejuvenated!

Our family (a group of 9) stayed at this property for 2 nights in October. The house is well represented on the website photographs (there is however a small one way street which separates it from the beach). The house’s age is both charming and warm. It is spacious, clean and very well equipped. It lies in a quiet neighborhood and on a wonderful section of the beach. Our host, Sarah, was easily accessible and responded promptly to our requests. We recommend the property to families searching for a very nice stay on the beach in Maine.

Our family had a great time here. The house is right on the ocean, just a short walk to the beach. The house had a lot of character and had plenty of space for our family. The owners were very easy to work with, thank you very much!

We really enjoyed the house! The location - right on the beach was perfect for us. No complaints at all. Beach toys for 2 year old grandchild were fun and he had a great time! House was well equipped and had everything we needed.

A lovely beach getaway in a perfect location to enjoy all of Ocean Park and Old Orchard. Sitting in the screened in porch overlooking the ocean was fantastic. Thank you!

The Perfect Beach House for a Family Vacation!
My family stayed in this Ocean Park beach house June 18-25th. The house was clean, well stocked with beach supplies, kitchen gadgets and paper products. There are wonderful views of the ocean with fantastic breezes coming through the many windows. The beach was steps away, which was perfect for our kids and convenient for my mom who has MS. The only negatives with the house were that there is no bathroom on the main floor, and the bathroom on the 2nd floor has a tub versus a walk/in shower, which was not ideal for my mom in having to navigate the stairs multiple times a day with her MS that afflicts her left leg…..All in all, we were very happy with this house and highly recommend it for families with young kids.

Sarah was wonderfully responsive and the house was chocked full of things to use for our stay! The kids loved the sand and beach toys and we had plenty of room for everyone. The porch was amazing for a nice quiet cup of coffee in the morning! We will definitely be back!

We had an amazing time regardless of the weather. The view of the beach is spectacular and easy to access for great walks. The house was perfect size for all 8 of us - we enjoyed games in the porch and dinner in the dining room. Perfect weekend! Sarah was an amazing host.

My family and I cannot say enough wonderful things about this beach house. It is absolutely charming with incredible views. The kitchen was fully functional and we utilized many of the beach toys, relaxed with one of the many books in their living room library and walked the charming neighborhood every evening. . It is also perfectly situated for us to take day trips to other beaches and even made it up for a wonderful dinner in Portland. The only disappointment was that we did not book a longer stay!!!!

Relaxing & Restful
There were 8 girlfriends (ages 20-75!) that enjoyed staying here this past weekend. The house is absolutely lovely! The views and easy walk to the beach, along with the quiet neighborhood made the location perfect for our getaway.
The beds were so comfortable. The kitchen was one of the most well-stocked with cookware & utensils that I've ever seen on VRBO. We cooked all our meals here and never once said "Oh I wish we had..."
The owner, Sarah, was so thoughtful with area recommendations .
My daughter and daughter-in-law want us to return with our spouses this fall for another stay here.

We last minute, for the first time in almost 2 years, decided to book a vacation out of state. We’ve been going to the Old Orchard Beach and Ocean Park areas for years now. We saw this listing and immediately fell in love ...and the pictures did not disappoint. There were so many things for our kids to do many books to read and all the amenities necessary for our stay. Everything is very clean and contact with the property owners was very quick and clear. The house literally sits right in front of the dune that leads to the ocean it was very quiet and everyone was Very friendly around us. It was a nice relaxing getaway from all the craziness in the world around us. This stay was definitely five stars and we look forward to staying here again in the future.

Can see and hear the ocean from most rooms. But, there are dunes in between to still provide privacy. Special place to enjoy it all. Will definitely be back. Only thing to be aware of is that you need to bring your own towels, sheets and hand towels. Washing machine is easy to access, so no problem.

BIG Advantages - Location, Size, Fully Equipped
We (my wife and children) and some friends stayed at this property in late June for 3 nights. Even though we had limited time, our goal was to "experience Maine" as best we could. We picked Old Orchard Beach because of the relatively short drive from Boston, the quaint (i.e. 1950's era boardwalk) area, the proximity to Portland, and of course, the beach.
The biggest PLUS for this property was the location. It's on the beach. By that I mean, there are no obstructions to the ocean views. The house sits on the other side of the sand dunes and a short 100 ft walk down a boardwalk to the waters edge. Every room has ocean views, so the atmosphere is really super.
The location also lends itself to a short walk the Old Orchard Beach pier and amusement area (just under a mile). Most of the walk is on side streets so not dangerous and not uphill/difficult. This is important when you consider that it is $15-$20 a day to park near the pier or about $2.50 an hour.
Another PLUS was the size. Each bedroom was spacious enough. All had queen bed or 2 twins. The downstairs sitting room was large too, as well as the sunroom/porch area.
Because we were travelling with kids, I appreciated that the house was adequately equipped. There were pots, pans, dishes, games, books, grill, and all sorts of beach stuff (umbrellas, chairs, boogie boards). That was a huge savings of time and/or money because there was no need to pack or buy any of that stuff. The standup paddle boards were a great bonus - the water is fairly calm so it's a good place to try SUP boarding for the first time.
Also, Sarah, the homeowner was great. Super responsive and helpful.
As far as drawbacks to this property, the house is older so you have to deal a bit with old house issues, like older plumbing/fixtures, only one full bathroom. Homeowner was clear about this up front. Most of the appliances are mid-grade and all worked fine. Main TV is newer but smaller and hard to see from all areas of main room. Internet and dvd player work well though.
Overall, the house was clean and fun. It had the main things we wanted: location, space, and most equipment/amenities, even if the oldness of the house was less convenient at times.
We'd stay here again!

Amazing house, Sarah and Craig are the best!
We had such a great time here! Sarah and Craig are so accomodating and lovely to interact with. They are also so responsive and went above and beyond to make sure we had a great stay.
The house itself is just perfect. We spent most of our time on the porch watching the ocean. The master bedroom has an amazing view, too. House is within walking distance to the pier and many restaurants/shops. Plenty of parking and equipped with anything you might need for a weekend at the beach.
