About this house rental
Come stay at the Salty Pelican in Angler's Reef! This magnificent home with amazing direct ocean views from the master bedroom, living room and balconies is located in Islamorada at Mile Marker 85 in the exclusive gated community of Angler's Reef. Home also overlooks the community pool. Anglers Reef is a quiet oceanfront community in the Florida Keys. Angler's Reef is a boutique complex of 52 homes inspired by Native Conch & British West Indies architecture. Quaint streets & walking paths wind through this village-styled retreat. Amenities include a community pool overlooking the Atlantic Ocean and 500ft of private beach. The home's boat slip is available for rent with a deep channel out to the Atlantic ($500 per week. Let owner know after booking to add dock). Or launch your kayak from the private beach (kayak rentals available for drop-off). Built in 2007, this home has 2 bedrooms located on the 2nd floor, the master bedroom has a private porch with ocean views or lie in your king bed and enjoy the same view. Downstairs porch also has ocean views for morning coffee or cocktails. Second upstairs bedroom has 2 queen beds in it. Downstairs den has a day bed Homes decor includes stainless appliances, granite counters, Brazilian wood floors upstairs and downstairs, 3 flat screen TVs with cable including HBO & WiFi.
Islamorada is synonymous with the best fishing - gulf, backcountry or ocean. There are plenty of guides, charters or boat rentals. You can also try for hogfish, snapper, mahi, tuna, bonefish, tarpon, snook, & more. Right at the Anglers Reef docks you can catch mangrove snapper, ladyfish, jack crevalle, moonfish, grunts, mullet & barracuda depending on season. We had one lucky vacationer catch a 70 pound Tuna right off the docks.
For those who don't like fishing there is still a ton to do which is one of the reasons we chose Anglers Reef. The development and the Islamorada area have a lot to do for people who are not into fishing. Just hanging at our home and looking at the gorgeous pool area in the back of the home and the great views of the ocean from our home is enough of a full day for some.
Enjoy our spacious deck with a book or cocktail and the views of the turquoise waters and ocean breeze. Or just walk off the porch and swim in the large community pool (heated in winter and cooled in summer!). And if that's not enough you can take a stroll thru the community or relax on the private beaches or you can launch Kayaks and Paddle boards right off our beaches.
Restaurants: a short 5 minute walk are Hog Heaven, Smugglers Grill and the Island Grill. By car a few miles away are lots of oceanfront or bay front restaurants to eat at. All are amazing. See our recommendation book in the home.
Attractions: Swim with dolphins at Theater of the Sea 1/2 mile south. Founders Park is just a mile north with concerts and lots to do. The Islamorada Chamber of Commerce visitors center is also near the entrance to Founders Park for local info as well as affordable postcards, posters, T-shirts and books.
Grocery & Other Shopping: Publix just opened at MM83 on the Island and is just 2 miles south of the home. For quick items Trading Post is a little further south. There is also a Winn Dixie a few minutes north (around Mile Marker 91 in Tavernier. There is also a West Marine, Bass Pro Shop and other cool little stores around the town.
Parks in Islamorada, Village of Islands: Just 2 miles north is Islamorada Founders Park at MM 87 Bayside, which offers activity or relaxation for the whole family. An Olympic-sized pool with diving area, a shallow water beach, water sports rentals, ball fields, fishing jetty, bocce, tennis and basketball courts, vita course with 18 exercise stations, multi-purpose path, skate park and dog park all are within the 40-acre park. Islamorada also offers an 18-mile bicycle path that extends the length of the Village.
Scuba/Snorkel! : Islamorada, long recognized as the 'Sport Fishing Capital of the World,' is now an icon among sport divers for a similar reason: a massive population of tropical marine life. High profile coral heads and broad ledges shelter huge congregates of French grunt and goat fish, while regal queen angelfish casually graze amid the reef recesses. Friendly green moray eels swim freely along the spur-and-groove channels, and reclusive nurse sharks lurk beneath the overhangs. Islamorada offers a wide variety of shallow coral reefs, mini walls, shipwrecks, and even an underwater habitat for scientific research, the Aquarius. We had an amazing time at this property. It is so quiet here and people are very friendly. Exactly what we were looking for. Pool was warm and clean. We spent most nights on kayaks right out front to watch sunsets. Baby sharks, sea turtles, manatee, and sting ray all seen from kayak. Walking distance to several bars and restaurants. Definitely recommend if relaxation is in you future.

Fishing trip in July
The property location was great, very close to docks and pool with easy access. Secure community, well-maintained home. The week flew by but we thoroughly enjoyed the stay. More expensive than some of the other listings in the community but the views and ease of access was worth it.

Beautiful House and Setting
The house is beautiful, and has a front row view of the ocean and the pool. This home's particular location in the neighborhood is one of the best. Our first day we saw a dolphin near the docks. We used the kayaks to kayak maybe 2 miles (?) out to the sandbar, which was super fun. Our kids loved the pool, and fishing from the rocks near the beach. The area is quiet, and away from the touristy hub-bub of other parts of the Keys. We chartered a fishing boat that conveniently left from the Bass Pro Shops marina, and caught lots of fish, some which we enjoyed for dinner and breakfast at the house. Scott is extremely responsive and immediately acted on any questions or concerns we had. We would definitely recommend this home!

Great fall break vacation!
Perfect vacation! We rented the Salty Pelican for a week during our daughters fall break. The location was perfect. Right on the water with many activities near by and a great community pool. Scott was great to work with. Communication was awesome and was available to answer any questions we had about things to do. We had two other families that rented houses in the neighborhood, which was perfect as it is a smaller gated neighborhood and all houses where in walking distance. We will absolutely be back! Thank you Scott!

Great house with amazing views!
Our family had such an amazing vacation the week we stayed. The house is immaculate, has everything you need and the community was very family oriented. Scott was very responsive and was in contact with us from the moment we booked our trip, throughout our trip, and even after our trip to make sure we got home safely. My husband and I have been to the Keys before but this time we decided to bring our kids and now they keep asking when we're going back to the Salty Pelican, lol! They loved every minute of it, especially the pool! We are definitely looking forward to our next stay there!

Best Florida keys vacation
Anglers Reef is a beautiful community located in Islamorada Florida. Scott was a terrific host- he made our stay very enjoyable. He is well organized and the house was clean and beautiful. We enjoyed sitting on the porch in the morning with our coffee, watching the sunrise and sunset. The marina and pool right outside the front door was amazing. We rented a boat for the week from A-1a sports and docked it at the marina. We went out on the water everyday!! We lucked out with a beautiful week of warm weather in the middle of January.:) I would definitely recommend staying at Scott’s property to anyone that wants a family friendly place to stay in Islamorada. An awesome family vacation. Thank you Scott- hope to see u again in the near future:)

Comfortable, relaxing stay in this beautiful home
This home is well-furnished and spacious. Perfect place for 2 couples, since each bedroom has its own en-suite bathroom. Beautiful views of the ocean and the community pool area. The Anglers Reef community is clean, with well-kept grounds. The owner (Scott) was very responsive to any questions we had. When asked if he had a coffee bean grinder, he ordered one and had it delivered before we arrived! There is a resource binder loaded with information on things to do, restaurants in the area and information about the Keys. Highly recommend staying here.

Wonderful Stay
This is our second year staying at Anglers Reef. We love this unit. We love the decor and cleanliness of the house. The owners are so nice and respond very quickly. We love how we can see the pool from the house and the boat docks are right next to the house as well. The boat docks are a great place to hang out in the evening. The kids can fish off the docks and the adults discuss their day on the water. Anglers Reef is close to one of our favorite places to eat Hog Heaven...it is even walking distance. We enjoyed staying here and will definitely stay here again. I would definitely recommend staying here. The owner is a pleasure to deal with!

Amazing Anglers Reef home and terrific host!
Our vacation was perfect from start to finish. Scott is an amazing host and I would recommend him and his properties to anyone. Even prior to our stay Scott's response time was quick and he was extremely helpful while booking. He was available at all times while I was planning my trip and guided me to a great stay! We stayed in unit 151 and it was gorgeous. Very well kept and extremely clean. All appliances, furniture and decorations are top notch. Comfortable beds, perfect pillows and soft sheets. Everything you need is there! Now let's talk about the views..... it is perfect!!! 100% water views everywhere. You have a great view of the pool and the dock, the balconies are perfectly situated where you are in the heart of all the beautiful views.
We had a funfilled 7 days, from fishing to relaxing days at the pool.... to great dinners out, all of which Scott recommended. We have been to Angler's Reef before and always had great stays but this one was the best by far due to Scott and his beautiful property.
Thanks again Scott for a great stay. Your home is a exceptional and your hospitality was so greatly appreciated. Hope to check in again with you next year!
Cheers!
