Amazing accommodations! The Depot was exactly as it looked! Dishes and everything else you'd need, it was all right there. My 17yo loved the Hideaway bed and my 15yo son slept on the nice loveseat cause he is not "normal". Haha. The hosts were great and I would fully recommend this property to anyone who is looking for a fun and exciting stay in the gulches near Deadwood and Lead! Incredible and something the 3 of us will never forget!

We had the best time at The Depot! The place was extremely clean and the owner was very kind and helpful! It is stocked with everything you could need! Very short drive into Deadwood and a nice reprieve from the downtown fun! We also rented a UTV for a day and it was absolutely the best way to explore the Black Hills! We will most definitely be back!!! Thank you Mad Peak!!!

The Depot worked out perfectly as a one night stay between Scott’s Bluff and Devil’s tower. It was spotless, comfortable, peaceful, and had everything needed to cook in snide and BBQ. Would definitely stay again and recommend as well.

It was a nice stay for the two of us in a great location in the hills. We didn’t have any issues with the owners and they made themselves readily available if we needed anything.

We loved this site. All our needs were anticipated and the host was friendly and help. Great location right outside Deadwood and close to Mount Rushmore.

Family of 4 ( 2 adults, 2 six year olds) -We stayed for a couple of days on our long road trip back from Colorado to Wisconsin. We wanted to explore Deadwood a bit. This place is a bit of a drive to an from town, but it was a nice place to retreat at the end of the day. It was well-kept, clean, and we had no issues with anything. I would just note that neither the wifi nor cell service is particularly good. We brought some games to play, and enjoyed watching a movie on Dish. There’s a restaurant/campsite down the road where you can catch fish and have it cooked, and it was excellent! Highly recommended.

Great location, you are away from the busy towns but still along the highway so easy to get to. Beautiful place with unique decorations. Clean and roomy. Has all the conveniences a family needs; stove/oven, microwave, full size fridge/freezer, and heated bathroom floors.

After a grueling 10hr drive, this place was great to relax and kick back in! Only regret is not being able to stay longer. Owner was super kind, understanding and flexible.

My kids and I went to the hills snowmobiling, and it was a very nice, clean, and affordable place to stay with plenty of room to park for a bigger inclosed trailer and pickup.

Very nice cabin for two. It will sleep 4 though. Everything was great. This place is close to Deadwood. One note the water in the cabin is super hard you could smell the iron when it was running. I am on a well myself but I wouldn't drink it. I would bring plenty of drinking water. Other than that everything was spot on.

We very much enjoyed our stay. Easy access to roads to surrounding towns. Perfect for the two of us. Great atmosphere. They have utilized the amount of space to its full potential. Very creative. Everything you need. We hope to return sometime.

Great retreat
Wife and I stayed here for a week while riding utv's with a group of friends. Place is perfect, convenient location, properly set up, all the amenities, owners were friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend, just don't book the dates I want, because we are definitely coming back! Pressure washer for cleaning utv's was also a bonus, only thing missing was maybe laundry on site, but wasn't an issue for us. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

A wonderful experience!
We loved the Depot at Mad Peak! It was very clean, and decorated beautifully. Besides the Depot, Mad Peak has several units of different size and price(each with different names). For our family of four, the Depot's studio setup worked great. There was a bed, as well as a fold out couch (both of which were quite comfortable). The television was large enough, and positioned in such a way, that everyone could watch movies together. The kitchen and grill made it easy to cook at the unit when we didn't want to go out. There is lots to do in the area, and it is fairly close to most popular attractions in the Black Hills. We liked that it was a few miles outside of Deadwood , so it felt like you had some privacy, even during the busy summer tourist season. The hosts were friendly, easy to reach, and gave us some great info about fun activities. We also rented a Roxor from Mad Peak, and had a blast driving around to lakes and on trails through the Black Hills National Forest.

Cozy Getaway
Had a great stay at the Depot. Cute little cabin not far from Deadwood. Very clean with all amenities we needed except for very spotty wi-fi and could only use the Roku but not the Dish TV. Decorations were cute and went with the Depot theme. Cell service is also poor in this area tho no fault of the owner.

Nice place to stay
Cozy place, nicely decorated. Comfy bed. Heated bathroom floor was nice. Hosts were quick to respond to our inquiries and helpful. It was a little difficult to find because it was set in from the street. A little too much street noise at times. Less than 15 minutes from downtown Deadwood. We enjoyed our time at this property.

Weekend getaway
We decided to book a last minute getaway and could not be happier with the spot we chose. It was so close to everything you may need, yet far enough out of town that it felt like a cozy little retreat. The place was clean and well stocked with what you may need. The decor is adorable and welcoming. Thank you so much! We loved it and will be back!
