We recently had the pleasure of staying at Closeburn House, and it was nothing short of a delightful escape. From the moment we stepped through the charming entrance, Paul greeted us and I knew I was in for a special experience.
The warmth and hospitality extended by Paul and Steven truly set it apart. The personalized attention to detail, from a friendly welcome to anticipating and fulfilling every need, made us feel like an honoured guest rather than just a traveller passing through.
The rooms are a perfect blend of cozy charm and elegance.
Nestled in a picturesque location, the bed and breakfast offers a serene escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

The hospitality was outstanding! The owners taking the time to talk to you and make sure you were looked after. The room felt more like a bedroom than a hotel room, which was relaxing.
Very quiet location, good parking, beautiful house and gardens and the breakfast was exceptional. Also loved Ted!

We had a great time at Paul & Stephens place. Such lovely hosts. The communication was super easy and quick and the place looks exactly like it does in the pictures. Very clean and stylish place with everything you need. The outside garden was stunning! Breakfast was amazing. There is so much love and effort put in this little gem! We loved our stay.
'Ted' (host pet dog) was a nice added surprise. Sooo damn cute!
Wish we stayed longer

Correction of Booking.com We stayed two nights not one.
Owners were more than amicable and friendly.
Genuine, excited and passionate about what they do.
I ordered flowers as a surprise which were placed in our room with a purchased vase from local florist Wilde Ivy. A spectacular arrangement.
The facilities were beyond comfortable.
Plenty of room. Comfortable stylish lounge areas with throws.
The gardens are well maintained with numerous flowers. The location is spectacular for just relaxing and spending good times with those you love.
Something we shall definitely do next time.
Bathrooms supplied with great Ikou products.
The entire premises smell fantastic.
The limited number of rooms makes this an essential getaway.
Great breakfasts to start the day.
I actually liked the staggered breakfast options and choice of times.
There are no offical lunches or dinners but can be accomodated if required.
If you are wanting a romantic getaway this place is perfect.
No TV's which is fantastic but there is wifi if you need it.
Not so much a "didn't like" but rather observational.
Need a small bin in the room or bathroom.
Bed can get a bit noisy 😉

Paul and Steven are exceptional hosts with an amazing eye for detail. They made us feel extremely welcome and provided great knowledge of the local area. The building is full of character and beautifully decorated.
The walls are a little thin, meaning other guests in adjacent rooms can be heard

Loved our stay at Closeburn. What a gorgeous place and the hosts are so lovely and welcoming. The breakfast is the HUGE and delicious - all made with love from the host and using local produce. Cannot recommend this place enough.
Thank you team Closeburn (including Ted of course).
I give it a 9.7 with points lost only because I wish they had the fireplaces on, especially in the morning. It was deliciously cold and fresh up the in the mountains and I love a fireplace!

The hotel’s overall look and its decor are the first thing that strike your eye. The property is elegantly furnished and nothing is left to chance: every single detail, from the common areas to the comfortable bed in your room, is thoughtfully organised and presented. The kindness of its owners, Paul and Steve, is truly the cherry on top. They really know how to take care of their guests, and they personally prepare the most amazing breakfast!
There’s nothing I don’t like about this hotel. Everything is impeccable!

This beautifully restored and stylish property exudes warmth and character. It feels like a home away from home with plenty of separate living areas in which to relax and enjoy. The location is ideal for bushwalking , the gardens are lovely , the beds super comfortable and the included breakfast absolutely delicious. Paul and Steve are wonderful hosts, friendly and welcoming, nothing is too much trouble for them. Their attention to detail and providing extra little touches e.g a list of places to eat, chocolates by the bed and providing a bench for two suitcases to fit were very much appreciated! Highly recommend.
Nothing.. it was all good.

Closeburn House is a managed pridefully by two very attentive and skilled hosts. The house itself is clean, inviting and comfortable. The rooms are likewise. Breakfast was beyond our expectations. You could do worse than to stay at Closeburn House.

The location was good, it did require a car to drive to dinner but it did mean that it was quiet. The breakfast was excellent, the hosts were very welcoming and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely go back.
We cannot think of anything that we consider to have been an issue that needs improving.
