Leaving!
I have more pictures but unfortunately cannot post them because of the limitation of photos.
The guesthouse looked very clean and seemed really cozy until I came upon a huge number of cockroaches (more than we were able to count) coming out of literally everywhere. I even had the unfortunate experience of having two of them crawl over me (one was on my towel and and another on the bed the moment I went to sleep). A horrible night of watching and hearing cockroaches everywhere: the kitchen, next to the bed, in the wardrobe where I’d put my clothes, etc. I started taking pictures after I’d spotted the first ones because it was gross and unbelievable - I didn’t manage to rest at all that night.
I let Marevik know the next day and she offered to have guesthouse cleaned but as it was already clean and the problem was clearly having cockroach nests they’d have to get rid of I declined that option (I was also offered not to pay for the motorbike I’d rented but I paid anyway out of decency) and said I was leaving. I asked for a refund and Marevik told me her husband (who didn’t even come out to speak to me) was having trouble with the Internet and couldn’t get on the app.
I have learned through Booking.com they have refused to refund what I paid for 3 nights plus breakfast, which I feel is absolutely unfair. Please avoid going there unless you enjoy sleeping with cockroaches.
I do hope they’ve had it taken care of.
Before you answer, Uwe: yes - the place is VERY CLEAN AND TIDY, and regardless of it being the “first time it happened”, IT WAS SWARMING WITH COCKROACHES.
I really didn’t want to write this comment, but seeing your response to what I consider a serious matter which caused many inconveniences.
