About this house rental
Russia Hall is a Grade II Listed Country Home set down a sweeping drive with extensive lawned gardens. Climbing roses, wisteria, oak beams and roaring fires, steeped in History, The Hall is a quintessentially English home in the Cheshire countryside. Parts of the house date back to the 1620's, a former Dairy Farm set within its own grounds, in a semi-rural setting within walking distance of Tattenhall village and just 8 miles from Chester City Centre.
There are plenty of good country pubs & walks nearby as well as the shopping, history & the nightlife of Chester.
Bolesworth Estate, Cholmondeley Castle & the market town of Tarporley are close by. The famous Ice-cream farm and Chester Zoo providing family entertainment.
The house is full of character with exposed beams and wood burning stoves and is full of natural light.
There is a dining room with a wood burning stove, the spacious lounge has a wonderful Chesney wood burning stove, 3 sofas, with French windows looking out onto the South facing terrace.
The well equiped farmhouse kitchen is the hub of the house with its AGA cooker and dining table, off the kitchen is a snug with Smart TV, Netflix and wood burning stove, with French windows that lead out to an outside dining area and orchard. Next to this is the utility and boot room.
On the first floor there is a spacious bedroom with King-size four poster bed, ensuite bathroom with roll top bath, across the landing is a generous King-size double room with a separate family bathroom with large shower and roll top bath, almost in a separate wing of the house there are two further spacious King-size double rooms and a twin room with an ensuite shower room.
On the second floor is a very spacious Super-king double room with ensuite shower.
The lawned gardens are extensive, with an orchard, croquet lawn, box garden and a walled garden. There are plenty of outdoor seating areas, a Scandinavian wood fired hot tub (heated for your arrival*), a stunning covered area over the BBQ and a relaxing zone to die for.
There is plenty of parking and a field to land a helicopter.

The perfect family break
Awesome weekend away with the family at this gorgeous property. There was so much space for the dogs and children. The hot tub was divine along with the various gardens and outdoor spaces. This break was long awaited due to covid and it couldn’t have been more perfect to come together as a family and celebrate missed birthdays and life events. We have made memories to cherish forever! Rachel was quick to respond to communication leading up to our stay and although we didn’t need to contact her during our stay, we knew that we could and that she would be happy to help. Thank you so much for having us at Russia Hall!

Beautiful property and grounds. Very well equipped kitchen. Light and airy rooms. Plenty of seating areas to choose both outside and indoors, either with the group or on your own as we had family members from 1 year old to almost 80 years old. Can definitely recommend and hopefully be able to return.
Thank you for sharing your beautiful home.

A place in our hearts forever
We found Russia Hall and knew it was the place of our dreams for a relaxed and intimate gathering after our wedding ceremony. We wanted space, beauty, outdoors and bbq and we had all of that, and some! Russia Hall is a haven. Beautiful flowers and grounds, lovely rooms and spaces. Birds everywhere you look. Our nearest and dearest stayed with us and we had a bbq, fun in the hot tub and enjoyed the tranquil surroundings. Thank you so much, Rachel for helping us to settle in and making sure our stay was perfect. You were so kind and accommodating. We will always be grateful to you for sharing Russia Hall with us for our special day. We’d recommend this stay to anyone. We’ll definitely be back and so will our guests. Many thanks, Em, Ad and the boys.

We had the most fantastic stay visiting this beautiful period property. Rachel our host could not have been more welcoming. It was the perfect place for our family to take a short COVID safe break. The amenities are A1 from the fantastically equipped kitchen to the myriad fireplaces and wood burners to the beautiful hot tub. Our kids particularly loved collecting fresh eggs every day from the chickens! There are so many wonderful places to visit in close proximity you could stay for three weeks and still not find yourselves at a loose end. We can’t wait to return.

10-12 August stay
Fantastic stay at Russia Hall between 10-12th August. We stayed for my friends hen do, and had a lovely couple of days here. House was fantastic, gardens were amazing and the covered outdoor area was brilliant, although we were lucky with the weather and managed to sit out on the outdoor table in the sunshine on the second night.
We went segwaying which was a lot
Of fun if your looking for an activity to do whilst in Cheshire - it’s only 25 mins away!
The only slight criticism I would have to make is that we didn’t realise until we arrived that the owners were staying in a tent in the field behind the house as they are having a log cabin built. We also came back on the Tuesday afternoon to find the kitchen tidied and hoovered. Whilst this is very kind and helpful, we weren’t told prior that we were having someone to come in and clean when we were out, and some of the girls had left their handbags etc lying around. We were also told to make sure noise was turned off outside at 11pm. We are a sensible bunch of ladies and from about 10pm were clock watching to ensure we didn’t lose track of time to make sure we followed the rules. We received a text from the owner at 10.15 asking us to go in at 11, then 10.56pm hit and the owner came round with a torch telling us to go inside. Whilst I’m sure she was just being helpful, this again made us feel like we were being ‘watched’. Maybe it’s because we were a hen party, I don’t know, but we didn’t do anything wrong to warrant being monitored.
Apart from those minor issues we had a fantastic couple of days away and Russia Hall is a gorgeous property for a large group!
Thanks

Fabulous stay
Me and my family stayed at the house for my birthday celebrations. We absolutely LOVED the house. So beautiful from the outside and lovely and homely from the inside. Lots of space inside for a large group of people, sociable kitchen and good size bedrooms. The outdoor area is amazing and very well kept. The host is brilliant in the lead up to your getaway and during your stay. A brilliant stay!

Amazing House
We stayed there as a group of friends with young families and it was perfect. It was a shame we didn't spend more time in the house to make use of everything it has to offer. The house is big enough for everyone to feel like they have their own space yet still has the desired cosiness. Rachel was great and very helpful with anything that was needed.

Easter break
Process was great and regular contact with owner in advance. We were met at the property and given instructions on how to use everything. Property was perfect with lots of room for 2 families to socialise or find their own space.
Kitchen is well equipped and we even managed to cook with the aga.
Grounds are beautiful and our dogs loved the freedom and exploring.
A great weekend enjoyed by all
