We had an amazing time at this property. Plenty of space for 7 people and two dogs. We loved the fire pit and kayaks for recreation. The beds were comfortable and everything was clean. We can’t wait to stay here again!

Our immediate family stayed here to be with nearby extended family for Thanksgiving.
Pros - nice, large bedrooms; large living area so that our family could hang out; right on lake; kitchen well equipped with dishes, cooking utensils, etc; nicely equipped for kids and pets;
Cons - no access to propane fireplace (would have been nice as it was in the 20s at night); our big pet peeve was we were not allowed to have 4 additional people (ages 14 months to 11 years old) to host our family’s Thanksgiving dinner so alternative plans had to be made, we were told it was a septic issue-seriously one is still in diapers and I doubt the other 3 would flush the toilets that many times in a 3 hour period 🤔… ; kitchen would be nicer with items like salt/pepper, coffee filters, etc; neighbors’ large dogs allowed to be leash free on the property, digging holes in the yard and leaving piles of “poop”…
Summer time amenities would outweigh negative off season issues I’m sure

This beautiful home was situated right on the lake with many amenities. Fun for the entire family! We really enjoyed our stay. Would highly recommend!

This is a very nice home. Nice shore line to the lake and lots of shade. We were a little disappointed that there were NO kitchen staples (flour, sugar, mustard, ketchup, mayo, oil, vinegar), but there is a little grocery store on the other side of the lake. Description said to bring outdoor chairs, but there were plenty there.

The house was nice and the layout was as well, but the photos are a bit deceiving when it comes to the size of the living areas.
We were disappointed with the lake itself. We have stayed on other Finger Lakes and were not overly familiar with Honeoye Lake as much. Researching the lake didn't save us. We weren't able to into the water on any of the ten days of our stay. The lake struggles with frequent algae blooms which can be a health hazard. It also is dominated by seaweed which we had to remove from the shoreline for the one day when the algae didn't bloom. It's a pretty location but we came prepared to have fun in the water with our grandchildren and that didn't happen.
We won't look to rent a property on Honeoye Lake ever again during the summer months. This would be a lovely location for the fall when water fun isn't what you're seeking.

My family had a wonderful time! The house and town are quiet and relaxing. The house was spacious for the 6 of us and had so many amenities. Wish we could’ve stayed longer!
If you want to go out to wineries and breweries I highly recommend Canadagiua lake area which is only 25 min from the house! Our favorite brewery was Other Half Brewing company and our favorite restaurant was Nolan’s for a delicious Father’s Day dinner.

The property was gorgeous and exceeded our expectations. There were tons of things for our kids to play with and the rooms accommodated all of our families. Highly recommend and will be coming back.

What a great VRBO! Everything was clean and the house was prepped with whatever you need. Great place for families- it was very kid friendly and there were even toys, strollers etc. We thoroughly enjoyed our time at the house and would definitely recommend. The grill and outdoor fire pit were perfect. Twisted Rail Brewery and Sandy Bottom Nature Trail are both super close. There was a lot of algae in the lake but due to the time of year we weren’t planning on swimming so it didn’t bother us. Thanks for having us!

Rental property was very clean and organized. The neighborhood it’s in is beautiful and very friendly people.
The only downside for us was the amount of seaweed near the lake shore which prohibited us from swimming, fishing and rafting off the dock. This obviously obviously is not under the owners control but I believe somethings should’ve been said in the rental information since we had children looking forward to swimming in the lake and wading on the shore which was impossible.

The dock was full of green algae and seaweed. Our 2 jet skis keep stalling because of it, so we ended up rowing them out about 150 yards to clear water. It was totally unsafe for swimming which was a huge disappointment for the children. We ended up using a neighbor’s dock. We should have been notified of the water/dock situation in advance so we could have secured other arrangements.

Absolutely charming and clean house. Kitchen is well stocked with everything you need to make a full meal. Flow of house was perfect, you can see thru the living room to the lake. Big yard so kids could play and beachy access to water for swimming. Fire pit and plenty of outside tables and chairs. We’ll definitely return!

What a great home and great location! This house by far had more amenities than any other rental property we have stayed at. My family and I had a great time. Here are some tips for future renters at this property:-There is no dishwasher-There is a crockpot, a lot of silverware, ice cube trays, a nice microwave, a nice stove and oven, real plates, pretty much a fully equipped kitchen, spatulas, serving spoons, grill utensils, etc. -Lots of toddler/baby toys, pack & play, high chair seat that sits on the chair-Nice grill w/ propane-Outdoor table and chairs that seats 8-I would suggest bringing your own bath towels or bringing extra. Some towels are provided. -BRING KITCHEN TOWELS, OVEN MITTS, POT HOLDERS, DISH RAGS-none of these items are in the house. Probably Covid related reasons. -Really nice washer and dryer are in garage. -Due to Covid, all sheets and bath towels are wrapped and left on your bed so when you arrive you can unwrap them and put the sheets and pillow cases on yourself. (unless you decide to bring your own)-Dog friendly! -We rented a pontoon from Trident Marina!-Check out twisted rail brewery...good drinks and food. Located right at the Trident Marina down the road. -Cable TV in living room -Neighbors are close, but that is to be expected at lake houses usually. -There is a 7-11 store couple of miles up the road-Bring extra blankets. Every bed only has one blanket on it (like a thin quilt) Which is fine in the summer but by labor day weekend, it was chilly at night and we did bring our own extra blankets. -Nice gas fireplace in living room -Very clean house! Well kept. -Loved that the water was just a few short steps away from the house and you don't have to walk down steep stairs, like many lake houses have. -Didn't catch one single dang fish. Oh well. Had a great time!!!

Peaceful, and scenic but plenty of seaweed.
Wifi was good, nice firepit, and the place had everything we could have needed. Definitely a nice stay.

Great Family Experience
We recently stayed at Riesling Rod and Reel with 6 adults and 6 kids ages 11-3. We had an incredible experience. The house was perfect - 4 bedrooms (3 for the adult couples, and the 4th we piled all the kids into on the ground floor). There were two full bathrooms which was necessary for 12 people - and a tub to give the littles a bath after a day in the lake! The lake front property was perfect - the yard leading to lake was shaded all throughout the day, with the water and dock getting sunlight. There was plenty of room to bring our folding picnic table for outdoor meals, as well as lawn games and chairs. The zero entry to the lake was perfect for our kids. The row boat and kayaks were a huge hit and we appreciated that so much! It was the favorite part of the lake front for the kiddos - a real treat. The location of the house is in a small cove, which makes using the kayaks, esp. for younger kids, easy as there is calm water nearby. The owners provided everything we could need from life jackets, outdoor games for kids of all ages to everything in the kitchen. The only feedback I have is that the property could benefit from a seaweed service. There is a lot of seaweed, especially in the shallow parts where the kids wade in. The kids swam in the lake, but did not like the seaweed. They didn't complain, but that would top off a perfect rental property. We spent 90% of our time outdoors, which was the goal! This property is perfect for your summer vacation!

Rod and Reilsing property
The house was nice. However, a dishwasher would have been a good addition. Outside area by the lake was nice to sit & relax. It was a disappointment that the lake was not good for swimming because of the very soft muddy bottom and copious seaweed. It was nice that a row boat and kayaks were provided.
4.8
Amazing remote getaway
We had a wonderful time relaxing by the lake. Row boat and kayaks were available whenever we wanted to venture out on the lake. This house is a hidden gem. Beautiful all around.

Just Beautiful
Everything was exactly as pictured on the website! We purposely chose this rental since we had two elderly women that couldn’t do stairs. The first floor bedroom with two large beds and adjacent bathroom with step in shower was ideal. A suggestion may be to add a chair height toilet in that bathroom or additional grab bars like in the shower. The entire house was spotless and well appointed for meeting our needs. We would rent again for our extended family!

One of the Best!
We've stayed in a number of vrbo properties all over the U.S. and Riesling Rod and Reel is one of the very nicest! It's extremely clean, nicely appointed, comfortable and has just about everything you could possibly need for relaxing by/on the lake. The addition of a dishwasher would enhance the guests' vacation experience. We were pleasantly surprised to find two kayaks and a rowboat for our use. It would be very helpful to potential future guests to add the fact that the kayaks and rowboat are available to the listing. The only disappointments were the number of dead fish in the water by the shore - which made getting in the water unappealing - and the fact that we weren't able to swim at the public beach at Sandy Bottom Park due to a blue-green algae health concern. Again, Riesling Rod and Reel is one of the nicest properties we've ever rented. It's the perfect place to get away and relax on Lake Honeoye.

Great Fishing
I have rented a few different places on the lake and this house by far was the best we ever rented. Very clean, everything you need, good dock, great place will be back next year.

Perfect Place
My husband and I as well as 4 of our friends really enjoyed our stay at Riesling Rod and Reel! The house is beautiful and was perfect for the six of us! The kitchen was fully equipped with everything we could have needed. The bedrooms were a perfect size with lots of closet space. We had a great time and we are looking forward to returning next year!
