Very nice spacious house with lots of facilities. everyone particularly liked the hot pool even though the weather was very cold. Wimbourne is a lovely town and we enjoyed a very nice Sunday lunch in the Olive Branch Pub.

It was just brilliant. Absolutely loved it. Will be back again next year. Customer service was second to none. Did not want to go home.

Big family get together to celebrate my husband’s birthday. All the children and partners and all the 5 grandchildren. Great venue and great service. Thoroughly recommend this property.

If you like quirky and unusual then this house would suit you. The accommodation is a good size, we were a party of eleven adults across three generations and we were all comfortable. The welcome hamper, games room and hot tub made everyone very happy.
The big disappointment was the hassle we received from the woman running the neighbouring café….. she verbally complained to us about the parking the whole holiday, even asking us when we were leaving and eventually putting a note on our vehicle informing us that it was a private car park.
We were informed on booking that there was ample space for parking…… so if you feel you want a holiday with nothing but hassle about parking then go for it.
Sadly it spoiled what otherwise was a pleasant holiday. We would recommend this property to others because of location but be warned.

Nine family members stayed in this beautiful house in Wimborne. It was perfect for us - very well equipped and comfortable with a nice garden and a few minutes walk into the centre of the lovely little town. The New Forest is close by and various beaches not too far plus stately homes and gardens. All together a great house in a lovely area. Would thoroughly recommend it.

Would like to have been told before I booked the property that it was situated slap bang next door to a cafe and the so called parking/drive way was in fact a car park

Couldn’t have asked for more
We really loved our stay at The Gate House. It was the perfect choice for our family and met all of our expectations and more…. Lovely welcome hamper of goodies, well equipped kitchen, hot tub, beautiful garden, great location, plenty of parking, luxurious bathroom products etc etc! We couldn’t recommend this place higher. Lots of things to do in Wimborne, and surrounding areas for all ages and abilities!
During our stay, we only encountered the odd minor issue which didn’t affect our overall experience. Namely, a rug without a slip mat below or where the edges had caught up, and a gap in the back fence which whilst was secured by chicken wire wasn’t quite enough to deter our adventurous pooch who took himself off to meet the neighbours before we realised. There was the odd head bumped too, but then we are a very tall family even when ducking below some of the lower hanging framework and there was warning signage about. There was also a little more taxidermy than we anticipated which the baby wasn’t sure whether to try to pet or cry about. But that all said, we still had a fab time and we’d definitely book to come back another time! Thank you!

Lovely Visit
This was our second visit to The Gate House and the property and facilities were greatly improved. The hot tub, robes, welcome pack, games room were excellent but it could have been cleaner in places.

Wonderful
Took my children and grandchildren for a sort break to celebrate my 70th birthday, grandchildren’s ages 5, 8, 17, 19.
The Gatehouse is perfectly place , 1 minute walk and you are in the centre of Wimborne, lots of independent shops as well as high end. Quaint pubs, bistros and pamper parlours.
The Gatehouse itself just as described the gamesroom fantastic and everything you could think of catered for.
We really enjoyed hot tub and were very impressed morning of departure to see it emptied and so scrupulously cleaned.
We will def be returning as this is the ideal place to come for more family gatherings covering all the age ranges.
Johnathan who looked after us always at the end of the phone, courteous, and helpful returning my husbands electric toothbrush by return, we have had many similar breaks but this was outstanding and we hope to return very soon 👌
