Our Adirondack Vacation House is located in the quaint Mountain village of Chestertown with convenience to shopping and dining in our fine restaurants. The house is clean, very spacious which makes ideal for an extended family, clean and nicely furnished. She is an old girl with some creaky floors upstairs but that is the nature of older farmhouses.
Our cedar wood fence surrounding ground pool is just the right remedy from the midday sun. You can ride your bicycles to Loon Lake and to Horseback riding across from the Lake or to Circle B Ranch. Lake George is only 15 to 20 minutes away. Great skiing at Gore Mt. is 15 minutes away as is White-water rafting in the Hudson. Loon lake with its nice sandy beach is only a 3 minute drive from us. There are hiking trails nearby and Rivers to go fishing in. Sleeps 18.

The house has a lot of character. Great quiet neighborhood. Gas station, grocery store, pharmacy, and ice cream shop within walking distance. Dog park near by. Heated swimming pool was very nice and relaxing. Property manager made sure we were happy with our stay.

It is an older house with a lot of character. For our very large family. The pool was super clean and a hit with everyone. Very convenient to lake George, and having a grocery store a very short walk away was a huge bonus!

There were 15 of us staying. This house was able to accommodate all of us and the young ones loved the pool!
There was plenty of seating for meals. We enjoyed ourselves

Loved the house. The lawn was overgrown when we arrived and was finally mowed the day before we left. The pool was a lot of fun, but overgrown also and not vacuumed during the time we were there. But would definitely come back again!

Property listing was accurate. Location was awesome- lots to do near there both nature and attractions. Place was clean. Owner proactive and responsive. Heated pool was great. General condition of the house is in really tough shape and floors creak more than any place I’ve been. this sounds like a nit but it made the stay less enjoyable. Overall, a pretty good experience.

I can't say enough great things about our time in the Adirondacks! Our host was a pleasure to work with and responded to messages very quickly. The house was exactly as described. Plenty of room for everyone in our party. I don't have pets but people in my party brought their dogs. I loved that the rental was pet friendly, but I wasn't aware that other animals had been there. The kitchen was clean and had everything we needed. I loved that everything we needed was right there, not just pots/pans/dishes, but also dish washer pods, dish soap for the sink, garbage bags, etc. The neighborhood was safe and amenities were close by. If you're looking to get away with a group I would highly recommend booking this rental!

Old but sweet
Very spacious but needs a lot of work. The first floor had a mildew smell. But overall the house was comfortable

Large home for a fun getaway!
The home is exactly what we needed for our party of 17 including 8 kids. Older of course but immaculately clean when we arrived. Enough room to get away or be together! The location was not entirely as expected and I pictured something a bit more set back from the street. Didn’t matter though because you aren’t going to be in the front yard anyway. When we first pulled up, I was a bit unsure but happy when we went into the house. It was perfect for what we needed. The backyard (separate from pool which was nice) provided great location for cornhole and s’mores. Gas grill came in handy! I personally was able to go to bed at 930 while others liked to stay up hours later and I heard nothing.
We made great memories! We would return and we are picky! Thanks!

Vacation time with Family
Our family of 16 enjoyed our vacation. Our grandchildren loved swimming in the well-maintained pool, roasting marshmallows in the fire pit and playing hide and seek in the house’s nooks and crannies. The adults spent many hours on the screened in porch. The house is located conveniently near family-friendly beaches and Lake George

Decent for weekend stay for 3-4 families
Property is big with large living rooms, kitchen and dining. Bed rooms are located in the first floor, with 6 bed rooms and 2 full baths in first floor and 1 full bath in ground floor. Living room is decently furnished with good sofa, carpet and other furniture. Since the property is very old, it makes noise when someone walks in the first floor. There is fireplace in the backyard and swimming pool. We could not use swimming pool due to bad weather, it was raining. Property managed was approachable on phone for any questions and visited the property when needed.

We had an amazing weekend in this beautiful old house!
It was wonderful next time we need the pool open. Just a great old creaky house in a great area!

Good Weekend Getaway
The house has plenty of space with a nice pool and decent sized backyard. It is an older house so the bedroom layouts are a bit unconventional and the floors are noisy but the house was clean upon arrival. The host was very helpful and quick to respond.

House was okay, location was great.
The house is located on busy Main Street. The location was convenient with the Tops supermarket 2 doors down to the left, popular ice cream shop a short walk to the right, and a few restaurants to the right. However on the weekdays there are trucks going down the main st very early so if you’re a light sleeper avoid the front bedrooms as it can be pretty loud. The pool was enjoyable although very cold. Kids loved it nonetheless. As for the house itself, it is a very old house and the age of the house definitely shows. The floors and stairs throughout the house are very uneven which wasn’t great for our younger kids who are already running around off balance. There Are plenty of bedrooms throughout the house which made it easy for our large family to spread out. Lots of spiders and flies throughout the house from the moment we arrived so not for those who are afraid of bugs. All in all, our family enjoyed our time and stay but was definitely a little difficult the first couple of days getting everyone to feel comfortable at the house due to the bugs/cleanliness of the place. We basically washed and cleaned everything we had to use before using just for peace of mind.

Large old home, many beds and baths, couches and eating areas, nice pool However, very busy road, property needs maintenance, house in dire need of painting through out, kitchen really needs help. Rural doesn’t mean rundown, don’t have expectations, all leftover furniture from owners home I suspect. It served our needs since we had family lakefront house to spend days.

21st birthday
I went up to this property for my 21st birthday and was planning spending no time inside because we were going to spend all our time at the lake. Unfortunately the weather on our full day was atrocious so we got stuck inside. We had plenty of space for hanging out and everyone was comfortable the wifi worked really well the pool looked good although we didn’t use it and grilling up burgers was very easy.
The house is old you can tell but it’s a great house the only thing I caution you on is that the kitchen has 1 oven 1 microwave (2 fridges which is a plus) so cooking for 20 people when you get stuck inside can get a little difficult
The location is pretty close to a grocery store too so that helps.
Overall we thought we would have an issue with the house because it’s not as secluded as ones I have stayed at in the past but being in a more central location in a town was a good thing
Also Chestertown has a 10 pm noise curfew which obviously is no fault of the house but keep that in mind if you’re planning on bringing 20+ people

Had a great long weekend!
The house was great for our large group! Pool area felt private and large. It’s an older property, so here and there you’d find something worn, but it was very comfortable and had great charm!

Family get together
We, as a group of 14, enjoyed our stay. The house is old, but has character & suited us just fine, everyone said their beds were comfortable & having 3 bathrooms was very convenient.
Just one thing threw us off ..... the listing mentioned waterfront - we never saw a lake or a river.
4.0
Disappointing and overpriced.
Home is certainly spacious & has sleeping capacity for many. However, it’s in a word ‘dilapidated’. Swimming pool & wooden deck area are nice but pool circumference is overgrown & concrete is crumbling. Utilities & internet very unreliable causing us to wait hours for service companies on different days. Upstairs TV did get fixed but WiFi never worked. Pre-arrival Cleaning was at the very least inadequate.
Chestertown is a very small village with supermarket & ice cream store convenient but limited restaurant options. Heavy truck traffic on the street in front of the house.
Property manager, Dick, was very responsive; however, this will be a historical house we will never re-visit

Exactly What We Wanted!
Every single one of the 14 women who came for our weekend get-away said the same thing walking through the door -- "wow! it's beautiful!" Plenty of room for all of us to sit together in the living room and share meals in the kitchen and dining room. Several of us cooked together, and the kitchen was well-supplied with all the tools, pots, pans, dishes, and glasses we needed. Beds were comfy, market was walking distance even in the cold, and the scenery was beautiful. House itself was easy to find from the highway. No complaints at all! Thanks for a great weekend!

Description was accurate. Nice community and convenient to stores and Lake George.
Nice house to stay, and plenty of room for everyone, but the internet was very unreliable.

Decent size for multi family entertainment. House needs floor works and pest control.
Chestertown is nice quite town close to attractions. House is spacious, but very old house. The floors were not flat on second floor. You can feel the slopes in the floors. Steps and floors were noisy when we walk. If you look for space, this house is perfect. For us, we thought the price we paid was little high considering the house condition. Bugs were roaming around in first floor. Needs some pest control. If you don't mind of old house issues, then this would be good fit for large groups. Decent size swimming pool.

Great Vacation!
This house was a wonderful historic home! The location was perfect, in a small town but a short drive to Lake George Village! So many hiking trails and lake swimming close by. The home is older and that is noticeable, but it's beautiful and unique. We had everything we needed right there in the house and the grocery store was a very short walk away! The pool area was fenced in and private and surrounded by greenery, it is beautiful. There were 13 of us and we had plenty of space, we even had a bedroom we didn't utilize! I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a place to stay that is not in the heart of the tourist area.

Nice pool but very noisy and busy setting - way overpriced
The good: very nice pool, close to amenities - grocery store, ice cream parlor and basketball court - which my kids loved.
The bad - the house is located on a busy main road that is a primary route for TRUCKS - lumber, sanitation, etc. Sitting at the patio, we literally could not hear ourselves when the trucks frequently passed by and the diesel fumes were overpowering. Not the place to go if you are looking for some peace and quiet.
Way overpriced for what you get.

Elegant old Lady
Elizabeth house is an elegant old lady that is starting to show her age on the exterior but is warm and welcoming on the inside. My family (8 adults and 9 children under 14) descended on the home and were graciously taken in. The interior was spotless, large and inviting. The kitchen was well stocked and the two dining rooms made meals a snap. There was so much room that adults and kids could all find a space for themselves. The screened in porch was the favorite amongst all of us. I also must mention the large clean pool out back the kids seem to live in. It was cleaned and maintained by a young man two or three times during our stay. You will find Dick, the property manager an agreeable, friendly, helpful person. He made immediate contact with us and helped us settle in.
The best thing about the house is the location. Convenient to everything. Loon lake just 5 minutes drive up the road is great for families. It has a life guard, swimming area, rest rooms, picnic tables and free parking. Schroon lake was superb for renting a boat and tubing. Hiking trails surrounded us. Less than an hours drive we visited Fort Ticonderoga. Don't miss the Adventure Course just 15 minutes from the house. Last you will appreciate the convenience of a full market within walking distance and the Farmers Market on Wed. A great time was had by all.

Lovely Fall Spot
This is a very spacious, gracious old home. We found everything we needed at the house and spent our time cooking, sitting out by the pool, and visiting the Ice Cream Parlor and Restaurant just up the street. We were a group of 12 so the house was more than big enough for our needs. The kitchen is fairly well stocked with glassware, dishware, and pots/pans for cooking though we really would have loved some sharp knives and a pancake griddle for the big breakfasts. I would definitely recommend the house to others and would plan to come back myself with my family.

Wonderful week!
My family enjoyed a wonderful week at the Elizabeth House. The house was just as it was pictured and very, very spacious. We had 15 people and never felt crowded. The pool was well kept up and very refreshing. We enjoyed eating on the porch most days and when it was too hot, we were glad to have the air conditioning. The house was clean when we arrived and Dick left his number in case we needed him. It was only a 20 minute drive to Lake George and 10 minutes to Bolton Landing. We also walked just several houses down to the grocery store or the ice cream parlor. We were well taken care of during our week. We would certainly stay here again when visiting this area. Thank you Dick for you attentiveness.

Great house in a great place
We arrived at the house very late but this was not a problem. The manager called and then came to say hi in the morning. There were 12 of us staying in the house and we had plenty of room. There were lots of bedrooms with very comfortable beds. Food was very easy to get because the supermarket was only a 2 minute walk away. The kitchen had everything we needed to prepare all our meals (there was even a grill outside to bbq on!). My group spent alot of time in the pool which was very clean and a nice, refreshing temperature. Overall, we all enjoyed our stay very much and would definitely recommend this house to anyone going to that area!

Perfect family reunion spot
There was 23 of us and we had a wonderful time. Most of us spent a lot of time on the screened in porch. Enough room for all of us to sleep comfortably and to eat. The kitchen is well equipped, except for some large pots. the pool was nice, lots of lounge chairs. The owner was very nice and was here just about everyday, he wasn't a pain he was just here collecting the garbage for us. The pool was kept very clean. We loved the fact that there were two refrigerators to keep all our food and beverages in. We would definately stay here again.
