About this house rental
Experience contemporary living in a beautiful Vermont country setting. Fielder Farm offers a unique and stunning Vermont vacation rental home in the heart of the Green Mountains.
Relax in our post-and-beam, monitor barn home. Everything you need to make our home your home is provided. Let the gracious living area and professionally equipped kitchen inspire the host in you as you invite family and friends to enjoy a sunset from the second-floor windows or take a long soak in the hot tub after a day of your favorite winter activity.
On 230 acres, the Farm has its own backcountry trails, a sledding hill and with a little shoveling, the pond becomes your own personal ice rink. Access to the Catamount Trail is right out your door. Snowshoe to the top of Little Baldie then ride your board or skis home.
The highlight of the lower farm is the Pond. Surrounded by acres of maintained lawn, the Pond is the heart and spirit of the Fielder Farm. It provides an unlimited source of entertainment throughout the year and attracts even the most reticent of visitors. The water is deep, clear and irresistible. Stone steps and rocky outcrops make entering and exiting the water easy and pleasant in the heat of summer and getting on and off the ice hassle-free with your skates in the winter.
Guests enter the Barn on the ground floor through the Mud Room featuring a native slate floor, dozens of cubbies in a variety of sizes and ample wall space covered with hooks. No matter the season every guest will find more than enough space to stow personal gear.
As you climb the stairs to the second floor Living space your attention is immediately drawn up the custom post and beam frame to the arching bridge and Monitor ceiling 25 feet above. A half a dozen windows along the eastern wall offer a brilliant view of the pond, lower pasture, and mountains beyond and fill the space with light throughout the day all year long. This light is the perfect complement to the natural finish on the heart pine floors. The thoughtful arrangement and open design of the second-floor living space allows a number of activities to carry on harmoniously.
Paying close attention to the details can make a big difference when it comes to using a kitchen day-to-day. The owners of the Barn are keen chefs who spent months cooking in this kitchen. The Kitchen combines elegance and functionality, blending Vermont granite and butcher block countertops, heart pine floors with stainless steel appliances and wood cabinets. The social space encourages casual interaction and provides a bird’s eye view of the meadow and stream below.
The Kitchen is open to the Dining area and the view beyond. The extendable table allows seating for 10 with room for two more at the kitchen island.
Glass doors behind the dining table open onto the spacious deck making the gas grill convenient to the kitchen all year long. It is also the perfect platform for the 6 person hot tub.
Two bedrooms with similar appointments off the second-floor living space make sharing the Barn uncomplicated.
The Loft bedrooms are accessible by a modified ship’s ladder. Each Loft has 3 built-in twin beds, a walk-in closet and plenty of built-in drawer and floor space.

The property is beautiful! Perfect place for a retreat. The spring water pond and hot tub are so refreshing and we enjoyed our walks. Really appreciated the well-stocked kitchen and sufficient amount of towels and linens. Re: communication, we were grateful for how fast Sarah responded, but personally would have loved receiving a digital copy of the (very helpful) visitor guide before arrival rather than only once on-site so that we could prepare better :)

We spent our August vacation week at this beautiful well appointed “barn” in Huntington. Don’t let the term barn fool you, this well appointed and cleverly designed barn is an architectural work art. The personal touches inside give a glimpse into family farm life and the library is wonderful.
The owners, Bert and Sarah, were gracious but not intrusive. They provided us with excellent information about the surrounding area and were quick to respond to any questions we had. Ahab, their Belgian Tervuren, was a wonderful companion for hikes up the mountain and for sitting by the pond watching the cows or reading, drinking in the natural beauty. So relaxing ,
Would highly recommend this property as a hub for exploring, hiking, fishing or just chilling. We hope to return soon for another visit! A big thank you to Bert and Sarah and of course Ahab

I live in Vermont and gathered a bunch of friends from out of town in the Barn for a few days at Fielder Farm. We had an excellent time. The property has a great mix of mountain views, green pastures, trees, and water features. We loved hiking in nearby Camel’s Hump State Park. We loved hanging out in and around the pond for an entire day. We loved using the farm as a jumping off point to explore Waterbury/Stowe (30-45 min away) and the Northeast Kingdom (90-120 min away).
The hosts were very present and available, but also kept some distance and gave us privacy.
I hope to come back with my kids and other families we know!

Tranquil, beautifully manicured ,pastoral setting with a great wide open feel. Lovely pond and pasture. Really beautiful craftsmanship in house. Very clean and new . Very nice hosts and neighbors. Location was perfect for a relaxing getaway with many trails and rivers nearby. Just what the doctor ordered. Wouldn't quite call it a 4 bedroom as loft style upstairs beds a bit hard to access with downstairs bathroom.

My extended family and I booked this beautiful property for the 2024 eclipse and we couldn't have been more pleased.
The barn is so bright and beautiful and well maintained and decorated. It easily fit our party of nine adults and teens.
It is a very open plan home with the coolest walkway for the upstairs bedrooms.
The property has a cute little pond for fishing and a gorgeous view. We were there in mud season, so we didn't walk much, but it looks like lots to explore.
The hosts are the warmest, friendliest people.
I would highly recommend this location and I hope to get back here myself.

This was our 3rd visit to Fielder Farm and it was wonderful as always. Although we had hoped for some snow, we had a great time hiking, relaxing by the wood stove and enjoying the hot tub. Our group included tweens through grandparents and everyone had a great time! We will definitely book again.

We really enjoyed our stay. Excellent hosts and incredible scenery and environment, will definitely come back again.

First thing we did was jump into the pond, spectacular property and the scenery was lovely. Hosts were helpful, friendly and welcoming and we look forward to many more return mini-vacations at their property.
We will miss the swallows and bull frogs singing to us, and the cows joining us for coffee or cocktails.
And don’t forget to buy the homemade maple syrup by the 1/2 gallon, goes great on oatmeal and in your morning coffee.

Fielder Farm is beautiful. The architecture of the Barn is amazing.

We had a great stay at the barn! Great sledding hill, trails for hiking, snowshoeing and skiing. If the pond was frozen we would have been out their skating too, next time! The hot tub was great after an afternoon of sledding but some stayed in for the toasty wood stove and hot chocolate! Lots of books and cozy places to curl up and read. Our hosts were very helpful when we had questions. Definitely a place I would return to. Thank you for having us!

I want to start off by saying how absolutely beautiful the house and property was. The kids had a blast fishing, running around in the yard and playing with the chickens. The house is not user friendly for really young kids but we made it work. Also, I think every ladybug in the state was at and in the house lol. I would definitely go back and stay there.

Sara and Bert's Fielder Farm is stunningly beautiful, spacious, comfortable and stocked with everything needed for a perfect stay. If you are looking for sweeping open space, a robust trail network, unobstructed star gazing all while a short drive from Burlington, Stowe, Montpelier and Middlebury this is the place for you!

We had a great stay. The barn is gorgeous, the pond is lovely for swimming and there are multiple hiking options right out the door. We didn’t use our car once after we arrived. Sarah and Bert were great hosts and their dog made sure we didn’t get lost when we were out hiking!

Immaculately kept, very fun property was just what we needed. The pond is a little too cool, but it is northern Vermont. Hot tub made it great. Fun place to cook and read a book. Not very close to Burlington but it's a very pleasant ride to town. Terrific place all around.

This was an idyllic spot. The pond is bliss, the views, too, watching the clouds move across the mountains. Taking in the stars from the hot tub was glorious. We felt very far away from everything, in the best possible way.
Our hosts, Sarah and Bert, were wonderful. The kitchen had everything one could wish for, and when we asked for the slightly out of the ordinary (we were baking a birthday cake), Sarah swiftly provided a cake pan! As well as eggs and home-grown veggies...
The property, and the walking available to guests without having to get in the car and drive was incredibly special. The care Sarah and Bert bestow on the place is impeccable. The barn was a beautiful space in which to spend a few peaceful days. And we so appreciated their incredible library. A splendid collection of books! We would come back in a heartbeat.
The only reason we didn't give Fielder Farm 5 stars is because we happened to book right before a big wedding, and the preparations for that event were fairly mammoth, and ate into 1.5 days of our 4-night stay. Long hours of mowing intervened, breaking the lovely quiet, and ultimately making us need to get out of the house, even though for the rest of our time we'd been perfectly content to stay put. We understand the need for maintenance, and the challenge of timing mowing around weather, etc. And we appreciated the apology we received on departing, but I would say that a warning and/or a discount would have been the way to go. Perhaps in the future, best to have a buffer day when preparing for such an event.
One other thought: the view is so lovely, we would've loved to have had access to a small table on the terrace, to dine outdoors on those beautiful evenings.
But overall, a very special place indeed!

Bucolic and lovely!
We had an amazing stay at Sarah & Burt’s gorgeous barn. It is just as beautiful and tranquil as the photos show. Our kids loved catching frogs and polywogs in the pond. Easy access to nice hiking trails, and a lovely place to come back to and relax. Truly a great library inside, as well! That was the unexpected bonus. Communication with both hosts was easy and helpful. We would love to return!

Beautiful Property - Very Peaceful
We had an excellent time and really enjoyed ourselves. The pond and lands are well kept and great for a family gathering - and while it's a little "out of town" (which is what we wanted) ... it's only 15-20 minutes to restaurants, bars, etc. so you're not really even that far out. Mornings are beautiful.

Graduation Family Reunion Vacay
Our stay at The Barn was absolutely wonderful. The surroundings are beautiful, calming, and accessible.
The accommodations were unique, comfortable, and set up to accommodate a large group. The kitchen was particularly well appointed and we really didn't need anything.
Sarah and Bert were gracious hosts who left us to do our events but we knew we could contact them with any questions.
We truly enjoyed seeing this part of Vermont and would recommend Fielder Farm to anyone. We hope to come back again. Thank you, Sarah and Bert!

Wonderful stay at Fielder Farm!
We stayed at Fielder Farm the first couple weeks in March. We found the property to be absolutely wonderful, beautiful in character, immaculate in cleanliness and properly stocked for all of our needs. Sarah and Bert were gracious hosts and made themselves available for all of our needs. Our boys really enjoyed exploring the property, inside and out. This home is definitely a dream for young kids (and their parents)!

Another Wonderful Stay!
This was our second stay at the farm and it was as wonderful as the first. We spent our days snowshoeing on the trails and sledding down the hills right outside the barn (which I think the adults enjoyed even more than the kids). We also enjoyed reading by the wood stove and relaxing in the hot tub. Sarah and Bert were wonderful hosts as always. The day we arrived, they invited us down to the sugarhouse and showed us how they make maple syrup. The process was super interesting and the syrup was the best we have ever tasted. We look forward to visiting the farm again soon!

Cozy and relaxing gateway nestled in the hills
I wholeheartedly recommend the Farm for anyone looking for a quiet and comfortable vacation. We spent 4 days at the Farm over the Thanksgiving break and had a hard time leaving this beautiful place on Sunday! We spent hours gazing at the views from the sofa and our kids enjoyed the sled slope a lot after the snow fall!
Thank you Sarah and Bert for being such gracious and accommodating hosts!

Summer getaway...
Property was immaculate! Postcard worthy... Location is remote, perfect for hiking, biking and but easy access to Burlington and surrounding towns. Owners reside on the property but gave us plenty of privacy! The house was impeccably clean and had everything you would need. The owners are meticulous and it absolutely shows both in the home and on the property. Pictures do not do it justice. We definitely will be returning soon...

Great for a family reunion
The setting and accommodations were great for children and adults, with the pond, walking trails, and a hot tub on-site. It was also a great jump off site for hiking Camels Hump and the newly acquired Huntington Community Forest.

Pond life is the good life
The pond was definitely the highlight of the property. Our kids (age 5-7) caught frogs practically all day everyday using the net that was out. We also really enjoyed hiking to the top of Little Baldie. It was difficult and we were so proud of the kids for making it up but the true credit goes to Ahab, the owners dog for inspiring the kids to keep going. He's a wonderful dog and the kids only took breaks from frog catching to play with him. The hot tub was the best place for the adults to relax after a long day to watch the perseid meteor shower. Bert and Sarah are wonderful hosts and made sure we had everything we needed!

Amazing Property
We had a great week at the Barn! We almost never left the property because our kids and their friends could not get enough of kayaking, swimming and fishing in the pond. We also loved hiking the trails on the property and relaxing in the hot tub. The barn itself was immaculate and the beds were very comfortable. Sarah and Bert were also great hosts. They were always helpful and very generous sharing fresh eggs, blueberries and herbs. One of our favorite moments was petting the cows in the pasture. It was fantastic! We cannot wait for our next visit, which we hope will be as soon as this winter!

Wonderful Stay, Amazing Property
Fielder Farm is absolutely idyllic. The kids loved catching frogs in the pond, visiting the chicken coop daily, and running around the wide open property. The house is absolutely immaculate and really has everything you will need for your stay. Sarah and Bert could not have been nicer upon arrival and were great to communicate with leading up to the trip. You will not go wrong renting this absolute gem of a property for any time of year!

So peaceful!
The Fielder Farm is a wonderful and peaceful getaway. Perfectly appointed and impeccably clean. We really enjoyed hiking the miles of trails out the backdoor this visit and stargazing from the hot tub. Thank you Sarah and Bert!

The perfect converted barn!
You will be hard pressed to find a better place to stay with nicer people. Sarah and her husband were wonderful hosts and the converted barn was not only beautiful but had everything you need. Solid fairly speedy wifi, excellent kitchen and utensils/cookware, more than enough bedding / space, all the internet TV options (amz, Netflix, hbo go) and a hot tub with a view of the mountains. A truly wonderful and magical place!

Family getaway
Fielder farm was everything we hoped it would be. Sarah and Bert gave you enough space, but were there when you needed them. The WiFi was great all 3 of my kids did their remote schooling from the house without a problem. If you want to skate you do have to shovel off the pond yourself which is quite a big undertaking. Well worth it though! The closest large grocery store is 30 minutes away, but we ordered Sunday dinner from The Hindquarters in town and it was the best chicken we’ve ever had! We would love to check out the property again but this time in the Summer so we can check out the trails on the property.

Beautiful, stylish, peaceful retreat
Our stay at Fielder Farm exceeded all of our expectations. Communicating with Sarah in advance about our stay was simple and easy. The barn is so beautiful and stylish. The hot tub was a perfect spot to contemplate life while staring at the pond and mountains. The living room peaceful to catch up on reading and the family room TV surround sound a good escape and opportunity to catch up on some Netflix. We are very grateful for our time at Fielder Farm. Bert & Sarah - thank you for sharing your little slice of Vermont paradise with us. We look forward to returning when we can hike, mountain bike or maybe cross country ski!

Short Getaway
We stayed at the Farm for 3 nights with our kids ages 5 and 7. Needed a place with wifi for their virtual school work, but wanted to be away from it all. This place is EXACTLY as it is described and the views were amazing. We had a great time here.

Beautiful property!
We had a great time staying here for an extended weekend trip celebrating my husbands 40th. The property is gorgeous and the house is beautiful and very well-maintained. My husband - and all of us - LOVED the details and craftsmanship of the house. The kids LOVED their loft bedrooms with adjoining bridge - so cool! Beautiful views from inside, well stocked kitchen, the hot tub... everything was amazing. We will be back!

Paradise found
We spent four wonderful nights in The Barn. We were two families of four and The Barn felt simultaneously spacious and cozy. The owners have graciously provided for any and everything you could possibly need and you can constantly feel the care with which they built this special home. We spent our days enjoying the beautifully maintained property including dips in the pond, frog chasing, hiking onsite to the majestic overlook on “Little Baldie”, and relaxing in the hot tub. The kids (and a few parents!) spent hours on the rope swing nestled between the chicken coop, cows in the pasture, and the pond. We unreservedly recommend a visit to Fielder Farm!!!
