This place is beautiful, the day we arrived there was very heavy rain, and there was a small leak in one of our rooms, but the room was changed with no problem at all. Breakfast is good, and the garden area is lovely. Good wifi and lots of old, retro items in the commun areas.

We had a wonderful time at Fortuna Heritage Home! The place is beautiful with a lovely garden next to Kandy Lake. It was super easy to walk around the city from there. The staff was really friendly, and the breakfast was delicious. You could taste how fresh the food was. The rooms were clean and affordable, especially during the busy season in Kandy. Wish we could've stayed longer. Give our regards to the management.

This bungalow property stole my heart with its large garden and heritage bungalow right next to Kandy Lake. The convenience of walking to nearby spots made our stay even more enjoyable.
The team's friendliness made us feel right at home, and let's talk about breakfast - absolutely scrumptious! The freshness of their cooking was undeniable, adding an extra layer of joy to each meal.
Clean, cozy rooms at such an affordable rate, especially during the busy season, made this stay a real steal. I only wish we had more time to extend our stay - one or two extra nights would have been perfect!
If you're in Kandy, don't miss out on the delightful experience Fortuna Heritage Home has to offer!
I wish I stayed longer.

Śniadanie skromne, ale bardzo smaczne. Przeurocza Pani recepcjonistka, zawsze uśmiechnięta i pomocna. Piękny, unikatowy obiekt z wieloma sprzętami z epoki w przestrzeni wspólnej do relaksu.

Super friendly and helpful staff. Great location. Beautiful 1930s home - almost a small museum inside, and outside a lovely garden.
The rooms were basic not matching the glamour of the house.
9.0
Friendly and helpful staff, good location ( in the center but still a quiet place), clean and spacious rooms. We stayed in a separate building next to the main one which proved to be an advantage as it was calm and we were not disturbed by other guests having breakfast in the main building hall in the morning.
Continental breakfast is rather poor compared to local one so we recommend asking for Sri Lankan breakfast.

Fabulous place. Near to the Wawa Rauma and Sri Dalada Maligawa. Staff members are very friendly.

Highly recommended.

Good location, walking distance to city center and temple. Hideout restaurant just around the corner. Place is nicely decorated and staff incredibly friendly
We had quite some musquitos in the room and there is no net to protect. The breakfast is very simple with 1 egg and white toast but nice as its offered for free.

Location was good and very close to Lake
The property is heritage but hasn’t been maintained properly. The water leaks in washroom, old furniture and ripped furniture.
Room as per my booking was not made available the first night and then full charges were charged.

It's a charming house with cute gardens. It gives home feeling. The room is clean. The service was very good. Love Sri Lanka breakfast there.

it was wonderful property. It very close to the Kandy lake and city centre. You can take beautiful morning walk around the lake.

The place has a nice atmosphere with the old colonial spirit and all that old furniture. The rooms are spacious, the bathroom huge. It is a 15 min walk from the centre and the temple , it is located just by the lake. We only stayed one night and it was OK.
Unfortunately, being a colonial villa, the building is not in the perfect condition, you can see it is old and not maintained perfectly, I understand it is super expensive to renovate a place like that and keep the spirit. It was not a big problem for us, the bed was clean and comfy, but for some people looking for higher standard it can be an issue.

All staff very helpfull that's all I like.
- Towel look not clean , it has a big spot on it.
- Mosquito flying around the room.

The staff Elandi and Manu were very kind and went the extra mile to provide us with information on the town, transport etc. The rooms are exceptionally clean and the location is very close to the lake. We will definitely stay here if we visit Kandy again.

The old colonial furniture in the lobby was pretty nice and very nice location. I think that is from positive things..
The hotel really requires deep cleaning and refurbishment. The bathroom is in a very bad state, dirty, and with running cockroaches.

I stayed this place over a night. Place has a cozy calm ambiance. All the main attractions in Kandy are in walking distance. Staff is really friendly. Specially need to mention the attendant that I got is really welcoming and fulfilled my need as I needed. Food is good. Room is large enough. Bathroom is spacious and clean. Worth place for the money.

Very pleasant interior style with beautiful suroundings ! Meals were also well prepared. The host has good experience with European guests + you feel at home.right away .very quiet surrounding's except monkeys in the morning might wake you up but is a + to our stay and makes it unique. We recommend visiting the beautiful exceptional botanique garden near Kandy .but also the lake .The temple was of less interest for us .
We would like to pay by means of credit card but that seems not possible for the moment.

The old furniture and architecture of the house.
Disappointed stay in Fortuna. Seems that they experience renovation or has been closed for a while. The place is not well maintained. Bathroom were quite dirty with a lot of dead insects around. Some construction work are ongoing around making it very noisy in one of the rooms. Bed not really comfortable and breakfast not worth it compare to Sri Lanska standards. It is a shame as the place is a very interesting one with some beautiful old furniture. It could be so much better.

Nothing really.

Very stylish house near the beautiful lake
Once it was closed when we went back home, about 10 p.m. Nobody warned us. So we needed to wait outside some time trying to contact the host. Also I had some problems with breakfast, it was always too spicy for me, though I asked about eggs once and didn’t get it.

A very friendly service and a nice, quite place to stay. Felt very relaxed and safe.
If the electric outlets could be updated, it would really help guests.

Location - Less than 1km to the Kandy City and to the Tample of the tooth. So recommending to anyone who visits Kandy as many places are within walking distance.
Owner and the staff - They are so friendly and helpful.
This is not a complaint, but need to pay attention to the Hot water system and the shower. And the room door should be smoother to open and close.

The host was very nice, helping us plan our short stay in the city. The look and old design of the house makes place a bit more unique.

The hosts were gracious and nice. The location was very convenient and within walking distance of Kandy Lake. The breakfast was simple but lovely. There is a little swing in the garden that reminds you of your childhood! :)

We felt privileged to be guests to this house steeped in history: the architecture, the furniture, and the decoration take us back to another era and that feeling is amazing. The garden is magnificent. The location is ideal: 1 minute walk to the lake, you can do everything on foot. The owner is really nice and and he knows very well the history of this property where he was born.
The room we had was ok, maybe lacks a little bit of natural light but frankly with the breakfast included, it's a great deal!!
