About this cabin rental

This single-bedroom cottage is named for the Barrel Cooperage "Damy" (duh-mee). This is a barrel that we have used for Pinot Noir. We are one of the few Virginia vineyards to grow this finicky grape, and in this cottage you too will feel unique and special! This cottage is closest to the vineyards, so your vineyard views are unparalleled.

Featuring a king-size bed, spacious tiled bath, open plan living room, and a fully-equipped kitchen. Freshly decorated with local art and contemporary furnishings, and all countertops of locally quarried soapstone. Solar shades in the rooms with views and room-darkening shades in bedroom and bath. Electric fireplace in the corner can warm you on a chilly night, or just create that intimate ambience when you're ready to snuggle in for the evening. 650 private square feet with a deck overlooking the wildflower meadow and into the woods. Wheelchair accessible.

Afton Mountain Vineyard's Tasting Pavilion is only open Thursday through Sunday.

My husband and I enjoyed this place SO much! We are planning another trip with our kids soon. We absolutely loved the quietness, the views, and the proximity to the winery and hiking trails. My only complaint was the shower head. :)

Our location was perfect to enjoy all of the local wineries and breweries in Afton. The cottage was very nice and had everything that we needed. There is a coffee maker but you will need to bring your own coffee as the cottage does not have any. When you go to Afton Vineyards make sure to tell them that you are staying in the cottages because you will get a free sampling.

Afton Mountain is one of our favorite wineries and my husband and I have been there many times to enjoy their wine and amazing location. This was our first time staying in the cottage. It was wonderful! Accommodations were lovely, clean, well appointed and in an absolutely beautiful setting. We will definitely be coming back! Extra highlight...having the ability to enjoy the patio and all outdoor spaces after the winery closed. Almost like it was all ours! They were very nice and easy to work with.

Enjoyed walking in the vineyard in the am. Beautiful. Please wash the oven mitts. They are nasty. Please provide dish detergent. I was not able to start dishwasher because there was none. Ya'll dd a great job.

Property would benefit from the following: tea-towel to dry dishes/hands in the kitchen information on places of interest in the local vicinity instructions on how to turn off the air-conditioning unless the TV really does only have 3 channels available instructions on how to use the TV!

The views from the cottage were absolutely gorgeous. Even in the winter, the large windows allow for you to enjoy it without being outside. Very relaxing and great location right on the winery. The two free tastings were a great touch! The one area that was disappointing was the bathroom. It was not clean. The floor was really dirty, even in the shower and needed a mopping (looked like one had been used and mud was spread all over). Some of the towels smelled of smoke (thankfully there were some in the closet that were clean). I wish I was able to reserve one night online off season (even though two night minimum). The person I spoke to via phone was friendly and did make the process easy though.

This was a wonderful place to stay, and we enjoyed walking around after hours by ourselves on the property. The views were phenomenal. The lady who did our cleaning was very nice and found us an extra blanket!

Very well appointed..decor delightful. Good access for ramp to door from parking lot. Stones and steep grade of parking lot made it difficult to navigate with wheeled walker. Balcony access great. Views wonderful of Blueridge mts. Loved the lights out and dark sky policy..made for good night sky viewing. Layout of cottage fine as well as position of property to sunlight..shades helped as needed Very responsive.

We loved our stay! The finishings in the cottage were excellent. We only wish the couch was bigger or there was a second loveseat and that the fire place was wood burning. We will definitely come again though- thanks! We also loved that it was pet friendly. Great communication and info in all the emails- we didn’t have any questions.

We thought the design of the cabin was great. We loved the bathroom especially the shower and how great the bed was. It was very dreary and rainy during our stay so we didn't have much time to walk around the vineyard but it's a great space. Everything was great and straight forward. I really liked the emails letting us know when you would charge the rest of our balance. That was very helpful!

We would rent this property again. Despite hurricane Ida's torrential rain and warned tornados, we are none the worse for wear. The property is beautiful. The cottage is very nicely appointed and comfortable and we had a lovely time there.

Location was great, central to many breweries and wineries. The view from the porch was spectacular. Only problem was the extremely large wasp nest hanging in the tree on the side of the cottage. The wasps made it tough to enjoy the back deck. Alerted the property manager so hopefully it'll be taken care of.

The Damy Cottage was the perfect little get away for my husband and our pup. The cottage was beautifully furnished, very clean and the vineyard setting was amazing. We sat on the back porch on the 4th of July and watched the various fireworks going off around us. We did some local hiking and enjoyed an afternoon at the vineyard. I would highly recommend the Damy Cottage!

We loved staying at the Damy Cottage! We brought our pup and loved taking walks on the Vineyard in the mornings before it was open to the public. It's also the perfect location if you want to go winery hoping in the area. Highly recommend for a relaxing, peaceful getaway.
