Feel like stay at your long distance aunty house in Gifu

To be honest, it feel like stay at your long distance aunt's house in Gifu. Everything was clean and well organized. "Aunty" took the effort to wakes up early and bit us goodbye at 430am; really heart warming. Since she speaks mandarin so communication part no problem at all. Even though host have a cat and a dog; they are well behaved and does not cause any discomfort.

Location is near to a supermarket and coffee shop. Near to Gifu castle, staff is quick in responding.

Homely and warm

Hosts are friendly, warm, accomodating and attentive. Very clean and homely. Lively pets around, which was a welcomed change :) A 30 min walk from Gifu JR, hosts happily dropped us to the station at checkout. I believe you can organise pick up and drop off with the host. Regardless, a 30 min walk on flat ground is completely possible and should not deter anyone. However there is a local line which is 13 min walk from the house.

Exceptional

The location is a little far away from the main JR station/ meitetsu station but there are so many public transport lines all around the area. The host was also very kind to offer a pick up and drop off service when I arrived and when I left. The hosts were very kind, warm, and welcoming. Their animals were all very cute, especially the dog. The dorm room is only shared with another person and there is a large common area in the room as well as lockers with locks if needed. There is also a living room area and a fully equiped kitchen. The showers and toilets were all spotlessly clean and the water pressure and temperature was perfect. I highly recommend this guesthouse and will stay again if I visit again!

The location might seem a little far from the train stations, but the host offered afternoon pick up and morning drop off services. (If you don't have a lot of luggage to carry, the walk is easy enough too.) I saw information that guests can rent a bicycle now too, although I didn't ask about that. The room and bathroom had everything I needed. The hosts were very friendly and welcoming (and spoke English too), and the facilities were clean and comfortable. As mentioned in the information, they do have pets, but don't let that scare you off if you aren't a pet person -- the animals didn't seem particularly interested in the guests anyway.

Experience a Japanese day

1. You can see many adorable fur babies such as Shiba, cats, and birds. 2. The guesthouse owners are friendly, and one of the owners is Chinese, so you can communicate in English, Japanese, or Chinese. 3. I am able to experience what it's like to live in a Japanese house with a Japanese family, unlike hostels or hotels.

Not a major issue, just sharing for those who are concerned: - The surroundings are not as lively as downtown; most shops close by 7pm, and it gets quite dark outside around 8pm.

Enjoyed our stay.

Liked that Hiro picked us up and dropped us off, gave good advice re what was good to see in a short period of time, booked restaurant and ukai cormorant fishing boat trip. Excellent welcome, cleanliness of guesthouse and comfortable bed. Got to spend a little time with Lily the shiba inu and to meet a couple of other guests. Would return again.

Absolutely recommended place and hosts!

We loved our stay in Gifu and the SUAI guesthouse! We needed a little break from big, crowded cities, so we decided to visit Gifu and we had the best time! The hosts were extremely kind and their hospitality made our stay even better. We got to try sleeping on futons and also got bikes from them to go around the city. Also, their dog is the cutest but don't worry if you don't like dogs, she has her little house and you don't really need to interact with her. ❤️

A restful stay that allowed me to enjoy Gifu even more

The hosts were very nice, bidding me goodbye when I left for my day and welcoming me when I returned! They had prepared maps of the surrounding area so I was informed of the nearest train station and food options, as well as flyers for tourist attractions to explore in Gifu. Everything I would need on a trip was provided including towels, a toothbrush set, and I could use the kitchen utensils and appliances for my meals freely. I appreciated them letting me have the room to myself and putting the incoming guest in a separate room so I was able to be more comfortable!

Great place. Extremely friendly owner, he gave my friend s lift in the morning. He speaks great english. There are also very cheap options to rent bicycles and also a very cheap breakfest opportunity.

The hosts were very nice! They gave me a lot of tourist info and maps of the area so I could find plenty of interesting things in Gifu. They were also very generous - I booked a dorm but since there weren't other guests at the time, I was allowed to use the private room instead. It was very cute and comfortable. The shared space is clean, attractive and had everything I needed. Convenient location close to the castle and park as well. I enjoyed my time there.

Overall pleasant experience which made our trip enjoyable!

The hosts were really nice and helpful and we are really grateful to them for such a warm welcome, they also provided us with information about the neighbourhood. The rooms are clean, the pets are cute and lovely, especially Lily.

We found no minuses, although we could not take Lily with us :(

The hosts are incredibly nice and helpful. We were going on a rafting trip on our check-out date and they woke up at 5 am to drive us to the station so we can make it on time for the rafting trip. The place was very clean, and it exceeded our expectations 😍. We wanted to stay longer there because of how nice the hosts were and how great the place was. It was definitely a better choice than a hotel I think 😍!

Adorable animals and staff! Very nice house, possibility to rent a bike and get information about the surrounding activities! We recommend this guesthouse if you want to be in contact with locals and have a great house to rest after a busy day of visits 😊

Perfect guesthouse!

It is a bit far from gifu station. But if you wanna feel something local-friendly , it'll be good choice!

There are cats living in house, so if you have any allergy, Better to consider .

Comfy n warm Gifu Suai

The hospitality of Hirosang,the owner, is splendid. He and his wife are very nice person. They hav made us feel at home during our 2 nites stay. Room and facilities are very nice and clean. Bed,sheets,pillow are very comfy and made us slept very well.

Hiro-san and his wife are lovely and kindhearted people to say the least! They made us comfortable in every way, picked us up at the station and even gave us a lift to Seki too on the next day. Their house is just beautiful and really cozy, plus they have three adorable cats you'll love, if you are a pet lover like us. Our experience was nothing less than perfect; we would give 11/10 if we could. We really appreciated how they made us feel at home and see Gifu through the eyes of a local. This guesthouse and these people will stay in our hearts forever! Best guesthouse ever, period. Arigatou gozaimasu guys!! :D
