Beautiful cottage surrounded by lovely landscaping. Just a 10 minute drive to the beach and roughly 15 minutes to downtown Charleston. You will enjoy spending time in this 1 bedroom, 1 bath cottage right in the center of James Island. From the time you pull in the driveway, you will notice the attention to detail. Pack your bags for a trip to Charleston! The property is fully equipped with a full kitchen, washer/dryer, sheets, towels. In addition, there is toilet paper and paper towels. While staying at this property, you will enjoy the screened in patio with a dining table for 4. There are also two comfortable chairs for sipping your morning coffee on the porch. When you feel like going to the beach, don’t bother packing your beach chair as there are 2 chairs along with boogie boards and beach towels. When you come home from the beach, you may even want to use the outdoor shower! Very private shower and the back of the house. In the evenings, whether you want to go out or stay in, there are tons of restaurants close by. However, when you feel like staying in, there is a grill at the property and a perfect area outside great for cooking out and enjoying the exterior features of this home.
There is even a fire pit right by the outdoor seating area guests are welcome to use. Whether you are coming for a long relaxing weekend or even a business trip, this home has it all! Take advantage of the County Park pass this home provides. The local park is only a couple miles away and has plenty to do! Great walking paths, bike rentals, paddleboard and kayak rentals too! The property is in a great location, but even better, it felt homey for the week we stayed in Charleston. No bad reviews here. We would suggest this bungalow to anyone who was looking for a one bedroom place to stay in Charleston.

The rental is very cute and clean. The shower is super nice. We did not use the outside shower - seems to be decent though. The kitchen was well stocked and the membership to the beach was a nice thought. However, we could not get it to cool down in there. I don’t think we got it below 78 degrees. So we were pretty hot at night in bed. Also, the love seat is way too small for being comfortable watching tv. We wanted to lay in bed since we couldn’t chill on the loveseat all that well. But there isn’t a tv in the bedroom. So, I would either get a bigger couch or put a tv in the bedroom. We are not big people at all and it was not comfortable for us to relax at night after a long day. But the thermostat trumped the small couch. Other than that the rental is cute and very nice yard and screened in porch.

The location of this property was perfect to explore all the surrounding areas Charleston has to offer! It was very clean and stocked well. The outdoor space and yard is amazing for bird and tree lovers. The custom shower was also amazing. This property was the perfect home away from home!!

This property was perfect for us. So serene and quiet. Loved the screened in porch, we had our coffee in the morning and ate out there too. Close to the folly beach and driving distance to downtown Charleston. The hosts David and Josephine were very personal, and their garden was beautiful. Perfect getaway for couples! Would definitely recommend for anyone who needs time away from the hustle and bustle of life. I will definitely rent this place again if we need to get away!

We had a lovely stay and David and Josephine were excellent hosts. The bungelow was a perfect setting in their lovely garden. We close to all the sites we came to see and things we wanted to do. The best for us was the wonderful outdoor space. We had many nights outside by the fire. We would definitely stay there again.

This place was an amazing find. The hosts have built this wonderful little cottage that’s perfect for two. And that shower!!! This place was a big reason why we loved our stay in Charleston. The perfect place to retreat to at the end of the day. And Jo & David were amazing hosts. They provided us with house staples and even drop off extra covers for an unseasonably cold night. Highly recommended! If I return to Charleston I would happily return to this place. Amazing find!

Amazing little house which is close to everything! Everything in the interior is very clean and up to date without loosing its southern charm. If anyone has ever been to Folly Beach during busy season you know how much having a park pass is a time saver. Overall highly recommend!

Great rental for two people! Highly recommend it. Very convenient to historic downtown (15 minute drive) and the beach (also about 15 min drive). Very quite location, beautiful garden area - very relaxing environment

We had several weather and flight related issues (delays, lost bags, incessant rain etc.) on our trip. However, the cottage provided us an oasis of comfort and cozy warmth. We very much appreciated the hospitality and caring attitude of the hosts and how thoughtfully they have curated and maintained the cottage. Well hopefully be back some day!

Pros: The owners were very nice, the cottage was very cute and in a good location from downtown Charleston. Cons: bed is very uncomfortable, if you have a car bigger than a medium SUV you will have a hard time backing up and getting to the street and the mini loveseat leans when you go to get up.

This guest house offered great amenities and comfort ideal for two. We especially enjoyed the quiet after a day or two in Charleston. It was the perfect place to decompress. Clean, comfortable and quiet. The hosts anticipate multiple uses for the space - screened in porch, a barbecue, lovely garden to see and venture and guides for the beach or city.

This year we decided to visit Charleston and surrounding areas for our Anniversary trip and we were not disappointed !!! The description and pictures do NOT do this perfect little bungalow justice!!! It was everything and more !! The location was perfect, nestled in a quiet residential neighborhood that was only 10-15 from historical downtown Charleston! It was nice being so close to the hustle of the city but able to retire to peace and stargazing in minutes! The host have worked so very hard to create an oasis and they nailed it ! We unfortunately did not get a chance to meet the host but we left with the sun and returned after sun down ! There are so many surrounding areas to explore besides Charleston, all the beaches were beautiful and we even drove the short 2 hours to Savannah and spent the day touring around !!! We ate so many wonderful meals and shared so many laughs .... If you want a unique way to stay and visit Charleston and surrounding areas this is your place to stay !!!!!

Had the most lovely time at this property. it was close to downtown, but very private. My husband and I wanted a time to get away and reconnect. The bungalow was perfect! It was stocked with everything we needed and extras if we ran out or if we forgot something. The outdoor area was nice. We were able to enjoy our evening but with a screened in porch so there were no bugs! The shower was awesome, and there were multiple options on the TV. We would love to visit again. Thank you so much David and Josephine.

We stayed here for our first time in Charleston, and it was a great location being equally away from Folly Beach and downtown Charleston. It's the perfect size for a couple and a nice set up with the screened in porch to enjoy the shaded breeze. The owners were very friendly and accommodating. The only area that felt like there is room for improvement is in the comfort of the couch and bed.

This property is even better than the pictures ! The cleanliness was beyond great and it was stocked with anything you might need. Perfect location to get out of the hubbub of downtown Charleston but still be close to everything! And the pass for the local beach was such a nice touch !

We visited Charleston mainly for the Chris Stapleton concert and to eat at Rodney Scott’s Whole Hog BBQ. Both were awesome! The VRBO was centrally located to several activities. It was an amazing get-away!

What a great little slice of heaven. This was such a beautiful little place to stay. The location has everything and more to make you feel at home and comfortable. We would wake up and drink coffee from the peaceful porch for hours and finish the day with drinks on the porch. If you're looking for a quiet secluded place to stay that is minutes from all the hustle and bustle, this is your place to stay.

This property was the perfect location for us. While visiting our son, we needed to be close to him but also close to downtown and the Charleston area beaches. We could not have found a better place to stay on our visit. Adorable cottage! We loved the outdoor area with the screened in porch and patio/ deck are with a grill and fire pit. Lovely hosts! This was the absolute PERFECT place to stay for our anniversary trip. The location was great, just a 10-15 minute drive into downtown or to the beach. The county park pass was a definite plus, we used it to get in to a few of the surrounding parks for beautiful hikes. Hosts were lovely. The place was quiet and felt nice and secluded. The garden was so beautiful and it was enjoyable to watch for birds/wildlife while drinking our morning coffee. We were so sad to leave after a week here. Lovely property and we will definitely stay here again when we return to Charleston!

Loved the location and the garden area. Very peaceful and centrally located between folly island and charleston. Everything was provided as described. Saw a couple of owls perched in the trees. Pretty cool. I would definitely recommend this place if you like to be out of the hustle and bustle of a city. Close to restaurants and grocery stores. Owners were friendly and inviting.

Lovely little bungalow. I enjoyed the property for the short time I was there. I was there for an Adult Soccer Tournament that unfortunately was canceled. I was still able to enjoy my weekend on the Island and would highly recommend this little gem to a couple or single person looking to get away from the life for a while. I can guarantee you will not be disappointed!
