The spa was lovely, very relaxing.
The location was great for Hennessy but a little out of the way for restaurants. On the last day we saw a hotel car, so we can only presume that the hotel offers lifts to and from the main hub of the town… it would have been beneficial if we’d been informed of this.
The rooftop bar is quirky but pretty uncomfortable!

Tolles Zimmer.

We always stay in 5 star hotels, this holiday trip we visited 3 different hotels. But only this hotel can be called truly 5 star, the other more like 3 or 4 as every detail is perfect.
Unless you like Cognac, not too much to do in Cognac....

Excellent facility lovely setting
Nothing it was lovely

It’s ambience , the excellent and sympathetic
architecture and it’s location
nothing really apart from no milk available in
the rooms for hot drinks . we ordered some

It’s impossible to adequately describe the gracious staff, exquisite food and truly exceptional services! The beauty of the property is only exceeded by the warmth and professionalism of the staff!
There is nothing we didn’t like except leaving!
4.7
Very well presented, great facilities and well located
Not a great experience in the La distillery restaurant for dinner, poor service and food

We stayed 2 nights here and it was exceptional. We flew into Bordeaux and hired a car, it was about 1:30 min drive to the hotel. We booked the basic room and it was lovely. Newly built and decorated room that was spacious. The food is excellent. There are 2 restaurants, a brasserie and a more formal restaurant that claims to have a Michelin star. We did the formal restaurant first and had such a lovely meal. We opted for a four/five course dinner with paired wines which was very reasonable cost considering the high standard of food. The brasserie was also of a high standard. The spa is great. New facilities throughout with a large pool and jacuzzi. The rooftop bar was lovely and a great place to have a pre/post dinner drink with views over Cognac and a lovely sunset. Staff were excellent too. I would recommend to anyone for a couple of nights stay.
My only criticism is the wine menu is a little expensive considering it’s made on their doorstep. €55 for the cheapest bottle is not unreasonable but I guess this is where they make their money
4.7
Modern, very clean, excellent facilities and outstanding service from everyone. We will be back next year.
Very little. For a hotel and restaurant of this quality, the wine list in La Distillerie could be more comprehensive, but this is a minor point given the overall experience.
4.7
Style, comfort and food
Only one bar and one restaurant open
4.7
central location
nothing
4.7
Excellent location and facilities. Good secure and covered car parking.
Slow drinks service at the roof bar. Inconsistency between drink brands available at the roof bar and restaurant (the latter being limited to a single brand of French gin, whilst several premium brands are available elsewhere in the hotel). A small criticism, I know, but odd in a premium hotel.
4.7
Good location
Roof top bar is great
Missing atmosphere
The main restaurant is a bit dark in the day

Beautiful property. Small but nice gym.
Pool and steam great.

Excellent stay. Couldn't be faulted

The room was very nice but to be expected at the price charged.
The spa etc was fine.
The bar was nice but only one open.
The brekfast was nice but see below.
The booking for the Michelin star restaurant was rescinded at the time allotted,no valid explanation (As I complained the friendly manager offered a voucher for it for another time in the year!We were only staying one day.)The same had happened to another couple we spoke to soon after.
The breakfast buffett was not included in the price and for its cost was very average,at one point the coffee ran out!
4.7
A lot of time, effort and thought has gone into creating this beautiful hotel with, it feels like, no expense spared. We got a really good deal for our one night through booking.com making it exceptionally good value for money.
The jacuzzi and pool are especially lush as is the rooftop bar.
The staff are all a delight, as you'd expect.
I loved the luxury of walking around in bare feet on the thick carpets and beautiful floors.
The covered parking area keeps your car cool in hot weather and makes loading/unloading much more pleasant.
The rooms are fabulous. We had a 'basic' garden room with our own table in our garden and it was good to see a lot of eco friendly techniques used to maintain the gardens. The bed was sumptuous.
You expect a 5* hotel to be expensive but actually the lunch menu and rooftop bar weren't crazy expensive at all. The Michelin starred restaurant (which we didn't try on this occasion) is obviously more expensive but even those prices looked in the zone. The breakfast however I do think is a bit overpriced at 35€pp. It was a very nice buffet but there wasn't an offer of anything freshly cooked to order or anything particularly different. I would have liked to see smoked salmon for example although I didn't ask for it.

Our 2nd stay. we love the dog friendly rooms. Love the architecture.
We collected a new puppy so after our 1st night we had one dog and one 1kg puppy who stayed in her box the whole time. I was thus surprised to be charged the full €30 per night for her.

Friendly staff , clean well serviced rooms and public areas. while breakfast was poor the lunch and dinner was of good quality.
The breakfast is expensive and quality was very poor .
Ispoke to a lot of other guest who complained about service from kitchen was cold and or not good.
