The location was perfect for us. Close to town, close to the beach and bike path. We would like to make this property our yearly destination.

This was our second year in this home. It’s location is perfect and the home is beautiful. However, in the middle of July it’s extremely hot in the house. Given the way heat rises the third floor became untenable for our group. It felt like a sauna up there and after sleeping there one night a couple of the babies in our party got heat rashes. The portable AC up there did not work and the owner was unable to send someone to fix it.

The location is unbeatable. We hopped on and off the beach easily, wandered into town through the day. The house is spacious, well-equipped and the beds were very comfortable. Easy and quick communication with the owner when needed. We hope to return next summer.

House is attractive and located in great neighborhood. Easy walk to town. Lots of porches and balconies off of bedrooms and common rooms. Higher porches have ocean views. House was clean and the owner was responsive and helpful. Lots of places for our group to hang out. Would stay again.

Great time, great location

Summer rentals at a beachfront location appeal because of a few important things we all (7 of us) were expecting, but didn't get. OCEAN and CROSS BREEZES throughout the house we DID know beforehand had NO a/c units are a MUST. But, if main doors & several key windows don't have SCREENS, they can't always be left open to allow for that, especially at night when all the insects come out. The doors to all the balconies in the house, & some bedroom windows were GLASS, & the ability to enjoy summer night breezes & atmosphere was non-existent. That may have been the worst thing, since it wasn't even MENTIONED in the rental listing, & if we'd known it, we would've passed on the house. In a way because of that, & the extreme heat of this particular summer, upon check-in, the 3-level house, which had been COMPLETELY sealed up by previous renters and/or "cleaning crew", was an INFERNO, especially on the 3rd floor, and also because the 2nd floor bathroom FLOOR HEAT SYSTEM was left ON for who knows how long, and registered at 97 degrees! We had 2 small kids with us, & an ER doctor who said the 3rd floor was uninhabitable...so for close to 4 hours, we scrambled to open EVERYthing to allow for any measure of comfort as we battled the heat. I called Kendall & sternly explained the horrible situation to her, and she told me no one had ever complained about having no screens before, which is hard to fathom, but did say if I bought more fans (as some of hers in the house weren't working), she'd reimburse me for them...so I did, & she paid back right away. By around 7-8pm, we were all in favor of leaving, but island hotels were fully booked, & we had to stay the week. The weather did get a bit better but the house remained VERY uncomfortable, even after Kendall had 2-3 portable A/C units brought to the house, which then ran 24/7 for the week, as with all the fans. But to add real insult to injury, Kendall NEVER followed up the next day - or at all for that matter - to see if we were ok, or if things had gotten any better at her house. A hinge had also broken on one of the main doors making it not 100% securable. We told her but nothing was done to fix it while we were there, & still no follow-up. The rental cost $8,000 basically for a week in a hotbox. The rental listing has a HUGE omission about comfort but ONLY has 15 glowing reviews over 5+ yrs & not ONE bad experience until now? Seems odd, but ok, there is now. OK house, great location, zero comfort.

We continue to come to Oak Bluffs each year with our family and friends (with kids ranging from ages 2-3). We enjoyed our stay at this beautiful home in an amazing location. This island is special in many ways and our experience in this home from reservation to checkout was smooth and incredibly helpful. Thank you for sharing your home with us.

Convenient to the beach, and Waban park (for soccer and paddle ball and kite flying!), plus a short walk to Circuit Ave and BAckdoor Donuts, and porches galore, so many options to enjoy our morning coffee, afternoon sketching or read! Plenty of room for us all (we had 8 most of the week, and 9 for 2 days). Quality bedding and kitchen had everything we needed (if you looked long enough!) We cooked in most nights and grilled.

Property manager was responsive and easy to work with, property was clean and conveniently located. It was a great place to relax with family and friends.

House is a block from the beach and a short walk to town - perfect. Plenty of space and a lovely, comfortable stay. The owner was very responsive and helpful for any questions. We enjoyed the front porch and decks also.

This house is perfect! It was a short walk to the beach, ferry and down town oaks bluff. The neighborhood consisted of cute gingerbread houses full of character. We did not need to take a taxi a single time while we were there for the weekend. The house itself had multiple porches that provided amazing water views. Additionally the old charm of the house added to the overall experience of staying in Martha’s Vineyard. Would highly recommend!

Let me start off by saying how great of a time we had at your beach house. The house is really something special and a reminder of things from our childhoods, like our grand parents beach houses. It was also a great location for the wedding we attended. We were within walking distance of so many great locations. We also were able to take the bus into Edgartown, so easy!!

This home met all our hearts desires from the 8 year old to78 year old ! Great for swimmers, cooks, walkers, rockers etc

I would definitely rent this house again! Location is fabulous, especially if you have small children. Walking distance to everything in Oak Bluffs. The owner was super responsive and the house was everything we needed!

This weekend was the best and the house truly made it special! Kendall was always available!!! I wish the lockbox was a little easier to access...but everything else was PERFECT!!!!!!! THE LOCATION IS GREAT FOR MARATHON WEEKEND!!!!!

Our family of 6 was very comfortable in this house. Plenty of privacy and also great gathering places on the porch and huge dining room. The location was perfect. Easy walks to the beach and to town. Decks off the bedrooms were wonderful for early morning coffee or evening reading. Wifi and flat screen TV as well. Perfect!

I have to say the house is fantastic and its proximity to the beach, ferry, and downtown is a total plus. I would highly recommend this place.

Myself and a number of friends had a wonderful stay in September 2016 at this location, and Chuck (who owns the property) was truly excellent, kind, and professional in handling everything. The house itself is full of charm, with large living areas, a huge dining room (banquet-sized) table, and many neat amenities like an outdoor shower, grill, piano, a full-sized, fully-equipped kitchen, a yard perfect for lounging or games, etc. and it accommodated all 10 of us very well. This rental is also very close to the beach - just a short walk (equivalent to about a couple of blocks), and the water can be seen from the decks of the house. It has taken me a little time to go back and write a review, but the stay was so pleasant and with so many good memories, I can't help but keep thinking about it, and would love to go back! Highly recommended, and thank you again, Chuck!

We immensely enjoyed our stay at the Big Beach House. We had a large family group & this house had tons of space to accommodate all 9 of us. Plenty of bedrooms and baths, and the house was charming with a great back yard. But the best part was the location, one block to the beach and a short walk to town, with all the bars and restaurant. Thanks!!!

We had such a wonderful time staying here for a long weekend! It was in the perfect location! Views of the ocean, only a block from the beach! Also, only about a half mile to the main strip and shopping! A very easy walk! The house was very clean and presentable when we arrived! The house has such wonderful decks that we spent most of our time out on while at the house! Also, has a great back yard and patio! The owner was also very easy to get in touch with and to work with! I will definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a very reasonably priced, beautiful house to stay in on the Vineyard!

This house was a great location in Oak Bluffs! Within walking distance of ferries and downtown; didn't need to rent a car. Perfect size for 10 of us, and there are several decks on the front and back of the house. Would rent again in the future!
