Convenable

L'arrivée peut se faire en utilisant une boîte à clés. Le lit est grand et confortable. La possibilité de garer sa voiture.

Dommage qu'il n'y ait pas de patère pour accrocher une serviette ou du linge dans la salle de bains. La porte pour fermer la salle de bains n'est pas très fonctionnelle...

Not so great

- comfortable beds - well cleaned - grocery store is at walking distance

- very small rooms - lack of privacy since the owners are living at the property - a lot of the things are obviously DIY and not working properly - pool is unusable since it’s very small and uninviting - very overpriced for the value you get

Very good

The view was excellent. Very beautiful side of Madeira. A few minutes to the supermarket and restaurants. The room is good equipted, there were all needed tools in the kitchen for cooking. At night the sleep is very good because of the wind. Parking right in front the apartment, there are 4 places and we always managed to find a place. Also the cleaning of the room are included. We definitely recommend this place, but only when the construction work will be done and when there will be no noises, smoking workers and clean pool.

At the time there were construction work, the things that we were mad of are that workers were smoking right under the windows of the apartments, also the pool became a place to wash their hands and buckets after building materials. So the best option was to close renting for a time of the construction work or warn in advance about the noise and possible inconveniences and of course decrease a price for that period of time. The pool was advertised well in the pictures, but was impossible to use. We discussed these things with the hosts and they offered a dinner at the local restaurant as a compensation, which was very nice, but overall the price for that time should be half smaller for the time of construction work. But when the work will be done, the place will be definitely awesome, because there will also be the balcony.

Ideal swimming and sandy beaches. Very many wonderful trips nearby levadas. Nice coast and town.

Here we had accommodation without food and there was a fridge and all the equipment for cooking. Beautiful view of the ocean. There are beautiful sandy beaches for swimming, protected from the waves, so they are also ideal for swimming for children.

We were satisfied and so we liked it. There are paid parking lots at the beaches, as there is also a free parking lot but it is not cheap, so it fills up quickly.

Honest review of extremely disappointing stay

The view is lovely

We had many issues with the property and left after 1 night (having booked for 4 nights originally. The pool was too dirty to swim in. There were a lot of leaves/debris and dead insects floating in it. The bathroom smelled horribly of sewage, we had to keep the door closed and window open or else the room would stink. There were no towels in the room when we arrived at 3.30pm, we contacted the host about this and they were very responsive, we’re away from the property all day. We didn’t get towels until after 9pm. The host also had to leave the towels outside the room for us as we were at dinner and they have no spare key to enter the property. The room is generally is in a state of poor repair, the front door didn’t close properly, the toilet roll holder was broken, the flush on the toilet didn’t work properly. As the room has no a/c or fan we had to leave the window open at all times. The insect screen on the window has a very large mesh so flying insects and moths can easily enter the room. There were also a large number of millipede type insects and ants crawling around the room. The property is near a busy road, so the traffic noise is quite loud, especially given that we had to keep the windows open. It’s important to note that the entrance to the home is on a very busy road, with a blind corner which is dangerous when driving out. Of course, the owners can’t help this but it would be good for other travellers with cars to be aware of. On leaving the property we told the host of the issues but were completely ignored.

Quite and out of the way

Everything we need were there.

Luckily we ask for driving directions for the exact location or else mapping out on our own is not exactly where it is and the turn off is an obscure corner and narrow. So was happy we asked for directions from the host.

Extremly beautiful view, nice and clean room. There was a place to park the car and a small grocery store in 2 min walk. Everything was perfect, I only can recommend this place :)

Great room.Lovely host.I would recommend it.

The view from the room was lovely.The bed was very comfortable.Easy to park in front of the property. We had all the facilities in the room for what we needed. Very quiet over night.Fast wifi, smart TV in the room.

The room we had didn't have a balcony.The bad smell from the shower drain.

Perfect for hiking and relaxing!

The location is ideal for adventuring around Calheta's many levadas, close to the town centre and its amazing bay area. The view from the place is stupendous and its well equipped for short to medium term stays, the bed is very comfortable and everything is well clean and tidied, and the hosts are very polite and friendly, ready to help us with any questions we had. Will definitely be returning to Canto da Manu!

Unfortunately some of the common areas around the house were closed for maintenance.

A Nice Pleasant Experience

We were going from Funchal to Porto Moniz on the Bus exploring the Island, as the buses are very cheap here and it makes for an excellent stop halfway to break up the Journey, as the Studio or Apartment is 100m from the Bus Stop. If you have the funds, it’s worth upgrading to the apartment as this is the only one with a Balcony, as the 2 Studios just have a Patio Door. What made our stay so memorable was a little Bar across the Road, where Albi (ex SA) sells his own dry cider, pork scratching etc, that is frequented by all Nationalities. There is a Supermarket a couple of doors away, with a good Butchery, where you can rustle up something hot on the induction hob later.

A short sharp incline up to the Property on the way back from the Bar. one step forward, 2 steps back, but the view at the end is worth it, from the Bar and the Property

A very disappointing stay at Canto da Mano Panoramic

The location, whilst quite a way from Calheta beach, was a nice location, view of the sea (not the pool as described in the descriptors) and a nice local village.

Manuela, the owner, never met with us in-person nor called us, despite us alerting us to problems we had with her accommodation. On the second day we had an infestation of ants, and had worms on the floor and in various places such as bath mat and bedding. On the day we left we had other insects at the front and back door. After staff attempts to clean, we had a very bad experience with the strong smell of insect killer in the room and still found worms on the bedding that night at bedtime. We had to shorten our stay because of the intolerable conditions. We requested a refund and none of our emails and texts via what’s app, were answered after that. We found this to be very unprofessional and bad customer service.

it’s a lovely place and the decoration is nice, needs a lot of attention, and this is completely up to cleaning and main

nice location, amazing view, quiet place to stay.

Starting with the apartment: windows were dirty, mirrors were dirty, floor was dirty, the balcony was dirty as well. The wall sockets to plug chargers in and etc were dirty as well. there was no hand soap, the back of the toilet was dirty too, the cupboard to put the clothes in is also not in great shape too, is covered by a curtain… etc. needs attention. on the studio: There was a really strong drain smell once we walked in. it was like it was coming straight from the manhole, it went away a little bit once we opened the windows and practically disappeared once we took a shower. There is no cupboard to put clothes on, while staying. There wasn’t any safety rale on the door/full window that opens to outside, and this is health and safety issue… The shower also has nothing to put the shampoo or shower gel in. One of the towels in the bathroom had a hole in it too… The swimming pool was also dirty, so we were unable to use it… All details that need attention and that would have made every difference in our stay. We ended up leaving the next morning and cut our stay short. Stayed one night instead of the two originally planned. For the overall quality of the stay and place, it’s overpriced.

Clean place, friendly host, value for money AND there's a pool

Place is newly refurbished and super clean. Our room was very comfortable and had everything we needed plus a view of the sea. The host who lives in site was very welcoming and really helpful and we were really glad to have had the opportunity to meet. Would definitely stay when we go back to Madeira.

Excellent price/quality apartment with sunset view in a sunny village

Manuela is a very warm and friendly host. She replies quickly and accurately to questions/concerns wants to make her guests feel welcome and at home. The apartment is nicely located with a view on the sunset is looked newer (renovated bathroom) than the pictures used for the Booking advertisement. I enjoyed my stay here very much.

The kitchenette doesn't have a lot of equipment but it has all the basics you need (sufficient plates and cutlery, water cooker, one induction stove)

Highly recommended

The place was amazing in every sense. The bed is super comfortable, the bed sheets are of great quality and everything was clean and smelling fresh! It has a balcony with a stunning view just right to relax and get a sun tan. It conveniently has a kitchnette built with all the essential crockery and cutlery which we found very convenient to prep meals before heading out on one of Madeira's idyllic hiking trails. Recommend it 100% and will be coming back to lovely and welcoming Manuela's place!

The spot for some well deserved rest.

Praticality meets style. Loved the design and choice of furniture it all goes so well. The house is easily located, and its close by to a small market, fantastic restaurant and a local café and of course the beautiful relaxing Calheta Beach, as well as the famous Madeira levadas. Definitely worth staying at, the hostess is lovely and quite helpful.

Everything was great. The host greeted us and showed us around. The apartment was a studio, but for us it was enough space. It has a mini kitchen with a fridge, stove and all needed dishes. The best part of the apartment was the balcony- it had a panoramic view of the ocean and we could relax there with the wine and sunset view. It was really great. The apartment has parking spot- but you have to go up a steep street. There is a supermarket nearby, and we did most of the cooking at home.

Everything was great, just as i am not such an advanced driver and i am used to drive on flat surfaces- so parking a car in a hillside was quite tricky and stressful for me.

The apartment is perfect for a couple. We enjoyed ten days in Madeira here and everything was fine. The kitchen has all the utensils you need for cooking. The fridge is small but you can store a lot of things in it, it even has a freezer (perfect for ice cream in summer). The pool is perfect and you can use it all day long. And parking is easy at the door of the house. Manuela, the owner of the accommodation, was very kind and helpful. Thank you very much for everything, we enjoyed very much our stay. If you need to buy something for your stay you can find a supermarket within a 3' walk. And if you walk 15' you will find the best cocktail bar on the island, Pukiki Bar.

A good location (with a proper supermarket a few minutes walk), street parking available, a lovely studio with everything one needs (the bed was super comfy), a good size balcony with a spectacular view, all coupled with Manuela - a definition of a perfect host - very helpful, hospitable, pleasant and fun.

Cute studio with great views and wonderful host - recommended!

Studio was perfect - nice little kitchen, comfortable room and bathroom. Views from the balcony are great, and it's only a 2 minute walk to the supermarket to pick up food. The host was super nice and ready to help with anything at all. Definitely recommended

Great spot - just be aware that not many restaurants within walking distance, but easy enough to cook or drive to a nearby spot just down the road
