This was our second visit. We loved it so much last year we had to return and we were so pleased we did. Such a wonderful location. The accommodation is simply super. Spotlessly clean, super comfortable beds, beautifully decorated, quality appliances and furnishings, huge bathrooms, everything you could want. Jenny and Max are perfect hosts and so generously encourage use of their spectacular garden. Very quite location with the benefit of good shopping in Ross on Wye only 7 minutes away. Sitting in the garden reading a book and listening to the birds is pretty hard to beat, but if you can drag yourself away, the Forest of Dean is very close with fabulous walks and river activities, then there's South Herefordshire Golf course 15 minutes away (one of the most beautiful courses in Britain and cheapest green fees!).
Little Daffaluke is one of those places you never forget. A real holiday highlight. Can't wait to come back.

The appartement was very nice and spacious, and very well maintained. The location is very 'remote' and access is via single lane country roads which are quite bumpy but this wasn't really a problem for us.
It's worth noting that the stairs to the bedrooms are quite steep and there is no downstairs toilet. (might be useful information for people with mobility issues).
Overall, a really nice break in a lovely location.
The host was very helpful and knowledgeable.

I thought I had already submitted a review, but here goes again. The apartment on the side of the house was comfortable and homely and beautifully set up. The garden is a plus and we were able to walk around it and sit in it when the weather permitted. Kitchen had everything we needed.Jenny and Max were welcoming and helpful but unobtrusive, perfect hosts really and I applaud their concern for the environment.

Approach road access very poor due to pot holes and farm traffic damage.
Nice helpful welcome by hosts.
Warm accommodation and plenty of hot water.
Description of property didn't make it clear the accommodation was not on one level!

We enjoyed a super week in this comfortable, spotlessly clean apartment. Quality appliances and fittings throughout. Very comfy beds (we stayed in the second bedroom which has two king singles - however, the main bedroom is beautiful). Very spacious and bright.
Fabulous bathrooms. The garden is amazingly beautiful and we spent many hours bird-watching and simply enjoying the flowers. Thank you so much, Jenny and Max!

We had a peaceful stay in the charming watchmaker’s cottage and enjoyed sitting in the amazing gardens. There are several beautiful gardens and parks to enjoy in the area. Our hosts were welcoming and helpful.

We enjoyed our two week stay in this peaceful location with its lovely far-reaching views over the Herefordshire countryside. There's easy access to many of the ancient and historic towns around - we particularly enjoyed Ledbury, which had a relaxed and stylish feel to it.
Everything at the property was of good quality and well presented and the grounds are a delight.

We had a great time, the hosts were so friendly and welcoming, our stay exceeded our expectations and we couldn't have asked for more. Our little daughter wanted to write her review:" We had a lovely stay at the apartment. I enjoyed it because Jenny and Max were really nice and welcoming. Also seeing the sheep and playing in the gardens was really fun. We picked plums and figs every day and they were really sweet and juicy. The apartment has 2 single beds and I slept in one. It also has a really nice four poster bed which also was really nice and relaxing to sleep in. On some nights we went stargazing. I saw the big bear constellation and the milky way. The garden is really big, it is so nice to relax in. The apartment is not far from Ross on Wye town centre and the forest of Dean. Overall i think the apartment is a nice place to stay and i am definitely going there again."

Beautiful accommodation, in lovely surroundings.
The property owners were very welcoming & friendly. Nothing was too much trouble.
The rooms were spotless with every home comfort.
The location is a little isolated, but this does add to its charm.

Perfect get-away!
This is the most beautiful property to stay in. It is elegant but comfortable and in an incredibly peaceful setting. We loved walking in the amazing garden as well as watching the housemartins twittering around the eaves.
It is very convenient for Ross-on-Wye and Ledbury as well as the glorious Herefordshire countryside.
Jenny and Max are exceptional hosts and the apartment is equipped with everything you could possibly need.
Will definitely book again!

An absolute gem of a stay
The property was as advertised, with lovely suited interior design which was cosy and homely. Very well appointed kitchen, with everything provided for as required to cook a decent meal or even do a bit of baking. The owners were very friendly and welcoming, and could have not been more helpful. A great location with nearby places of interest to visit. Really loved our stay and highly recommend.

What a delight.
Giving this property 5 stars due to the peaceful location, the high standards of the beautiful Victorian apartment and the friendliness of the owners. Use of their extensive gardens was very much appreciated too. Although I only cooked one meal during the week, I found the kitchen had everything to hand. To top it all we slept very well in comfortable, peaceful beds. Highly recommended.

Excellent Property with Easy Access many Counties
The property was as described and was presented to a very high cleanliness and decorative standard.
The property is ideally located for activities along the Wye Valley, South Wales, Gloucester and other neighbouring counties.
To gain access to amenities you would require a car as the property is rurally located.
The hosts were extremely friendly and helpful.
We would definately recommend this property.

PERFECT STAY
The apartment is beautifully presented, very clean and well equipped. A lovely place to unwind in front of the cosy wood burner. The gardens are beautiful and peaceful. The location is brilliant. The Forest of Dean for cycling, a day out at Symonds Yat East and Hereford Cathedral to see Mappa Mundi are a must. Thank you Jenny and Max for being such lovely hosts.

Outstanding Property and Experience
Extremely well appointed accommodation, fit out and facilities make this a very high quality property and a joy to stay in. The location is definitely rural and this is its charm. There are no amenities within walking distance and comfort with driving on narrow roads is a must but a small price to pay for the joy of tranquility! A great place from which to explore the Wye Valley Hereford and the Black Mountains across the border.

Little Daffaluke
Absolutely loved our stay. Quiet and secluded property, be prepared for a drive down narrow lanes, but well worth the occasional reverse to accommodate a tractor. The house was lovely, big rooms with plenty of space for a family.of 4 to spread out and run around. The gardens were the icing on the cake; lots of room for football, cricket and the occasional nerf battle. Loved every minute

Beautiful property in secluded but accessible location
Beautiful period property in lovely grounds in a secluded spot but within easy touching distance (by car) of key amenities and the likes of Ross-on-Wye, Symonds Yat, etc. Very clean and sympathetically furnished to reflect the property itself and we would very much recommend this property to others.

A beautiful house and wonderful hosts
We had a really great stay at Little Daffaluke, it had everything we needed, comfortable beds and even a stable to store our bikes in. It is about a 20min walk to the Yew Tree pub, which sells a wide range of ciders. There is lots to do nearby, including cycling in the Forset of Dean and canoeing on the Wye. The children also loved the bird of prey centre.

Beautiful property in a beautiful setting
The accommodation was comfortable, clean, well appointed, decorated and furnished and in a beautiful location. If you are looking for solitude in a country setting, this property is ideal for you and yet it is only a short drive to Ross-on-Wye. The only two things that we think could be improved is the provision of a downstairs toilet and a shower in the bathroom to the main bedroom. We would most definitely return there and we have no hesitation in recommending it highly.

Probably the best self catering we have ever stayed in (and we have stayed in many all over the world) Thak you Jenny and Max

We had a really lovely time in Daffaluke House. It’s a lovely place in a beautiful part of the world. The house is big, comfortable and beautifully decorated. Outside, the garden is such a gorgeous place to sit and read in. A wonderful stay.

We stayed in little daffaluke for 3 nights during half term with our boys aged 11 and 8.The house is amazing, it’s part of a Manor House but you have your own entrance and use of the gardens which are beautiful. The whole house is really well equipped and we loved the wood burner. The beds were really comfortable and the bathrooms were fab. The owners were really helpful and friendly and even welcomed us with tea and cake! There is so much to do nearby for families, we’ll definitely be back.

A really relaxing break
The apartment is part of a large country house set in its own beautiful garden. The property was spotless with everything that you could possibly want to self cater.
The welcome was warm and friendly, the scones and homemade jam delicious, the fourposter bed was one of the most comfortable I have ever slept in and the wood burning stove in the lounge made everywhere warm and cosy on a chilly evening. Many thanks to our hosts for a really great holiday.

Wonderful place and lovely house
A lovely house with a beautiful garden. The house is fully equipped and beautiful decorated. Max and Jenny are very sweet hearted people, they do everything they can to give their guests a good stay. They also give good tips to discovering the area. There are many things to do in the area, such as walking in the beautiful nature, visiting gardens, nice historic towns, castles, cathedrals or museums. The nearby town Ross on Wye has a nice centre with cozy shops and nice restaurants. You can visit Wales or the Cotswolds for a nice day out. We recommend Daffaluke house and would love to come back some time! Thank you for a wonderful stay in Daffaluke House!

The perfect getaway
On arrival we were met by Jenny who showed us around their beautiful accommodation with a cream tea waiting for us on the kitchen table. The property leaves you wishing for absolutely nothing. The kitchen is perfectly equipped with everything you need including a dishwasher. The lounge is incredibly comfortable and the ideal place to relax in the evening after a day exploring the Wye Valley. As it was Summer we had no need to use the inviting wood burner. The whole house is beautifully decorated, spotless and very tasteful. The main bedroom has a four poster bed which provided the deepest sleeps. The bedroom leads into a huge bathroom with a lovely roll top bath. Our two girls aged 6 and 7 slept deeply in the twin room with large single beds which led to their bathroom with a lovely shower. The grounds boast a lovely rose garden which the guests can explore or relax on loungers on the lawn.
The whole family absolutely loved Daffaluke and we will definitely return.
Jenny and Max are the perfect hosts and give great advice on places to visit and eating out.
Max brought round a tub of the juiciest cherries one day which our girls loved.
Anyone wishing to visit the Wye Valley/Forest of Dean should consider this gem of a place to stay.
Thank you both for the perfect getaway.

A lovely character period property which lives up to the promises made in the online photos. The kitchen was very well equipped and the lounge comfortable. Jenny and Max made us feel welcome and were generally available should assistance be required. We thoroughly enjoyed our relaxing one week stay, including use of the owners' lovely gardens.
