This spacious property was very warm inside, beautifully kept, great kitchen, a sauna and hot tub was an added bonus. The view of the natural bush setting and mountains surrounding the chalet was awesome. It’s an easy drive to the snow fields. Sitting around the fireplace outside was amazing.

We booked two Chalets, paid for two and received two confirmation emails.
Upon arrival only one was available. The owner had double booked the other.
Totally ruined a long awaited holiday with friends.
Do not stay here.

A lovely chalet amongst the gums
We stayed just for one night to meet for a family function. A very comfortable chalet with everything we needed for our overnight. Awesome fireplace. We had a very windy night and were glad of a very solid construction. Christine was very accomodating to our needs and also quick to respond to any questions we had. Recommended.

Beautiful surroundings, some pros and cons
We were in Chalet 1, stayed in October. There are some great features of this property, in my opinion as follows:
- living room with fireplace is lovely to relax in, with big windows to the views out front
- cosy and beds, plenty of blankets, pillows
- warm with plenty of heaters for colder nights
- location was great, and we enjoyed a long 9.5km return walk on the property tothe Thredbo River (very hilly and not for the unfit!)
- we saw deer outside the chalet feeding one morning, very special
- we enjoyed the large sauna
- loads of firewood, you definitely wouldn’t run out
- plenty of kitchen utensils, pots, pans etc, nothing we needed that wasn’t there
- I called the reception one day to ask about horse riding and when Christine, the manager, asked if there was anything we needed I mentioned the toaster wasn’t working and she brought a brand new one later that day, good service.
These were some aspects that I was a little disappointed by:
- this property is described on Stayz as ‘luxury’, but while the living room and bedrooms are well appointed, the kitchen and bathrooms were a let down. The kitchen white goods are old, dishwasher did not wash dishes well and had a broken drawer so couldn’t stack it properly and after a day or so we gave up and just hand washed everything. Fridge had a cracked shelf and missing vegetable drawer at the bottom. Oven door hung open slightly without a tight seal, we still used it one time but not sure if it had reduced efficiency.
- There are small en-suite toilets for each bedroom, however in a Chalet 1 they are not as shown in the photos, which was tiny, brown, tired looking, with shower curtains. No room to wash your face over the sink as there is a mirror cabinet over it. The other shower (also shower curtains) is in the utility room area, shared with the spa bath and sauna. It wasn’t very relaxing for me personally to sit in the bath and see the washing machine down the end.
- The chalets are semi-detached so you hear noise from the other chalet, never anything that really bothered us other than talking and the smoke alarm going off next door, but took away from a sense of privacy.
- Cars to the other chalet also have to drive right past the window, and on change over there was a lot of activity for the cleaning, including a truck in front of the living room window, with door open and music playing. Again, took away from sense of privacy or tranquility.
Overall, not sure I’d stay again.

Alpine Hideaway
What a wonderful place to stay! Very clean and quiet and the property manager couldn’t be more helpful. Loved the fireplace, the very comfortable furniture and the well stocked kitchen if you would like to do your own cooking. However, don’t forget to bring all your food supplies as the nearest supermarket is at Jindabyne. Our two little Westies loved it too. Highly recommend.

Fantastic Location, very relaxing.
Had a wonderul stay in one of the budget cabins. Very well equipped cabin with everything you need already there. Quiet setting, surrounded by beautiful bush and Roos and even the odd Emu. Very close to everything and we even got a late check out. We will be back.
