Mike and I and our 2 dogs love FPC. The weather was beautiful and we spent all day outside hiking, the dogs swam in the pond and Francis Lake. The cottage is clean and the kitchen is very well appointed. We enjoyed cooking and sitting by the fire pit in the evening. It's my second year here, plan to go back every year! Thank you to Carol and Dan...wonderful hosts!

When you first pull into the property your are amazed on how beautiful it is. Then when you go inside the cottage, you realize how spotlessly clean it is. But the real surprise is when you meet the owners of the property. Carol & Dan are warm, welcoming people who make you feel like old friends. They did everything they could to make our stay relaxing & enjoyable. The cottage is cozy & filled with most of today's modern amenities. Each night we didn't want to go to bed because we were enjoying everything around us, including a great campfire. They even spent one evening with us around the campfire, telling us about all the things they did with the property. When the time to go came, we didn't want to leave, it was just that great of a vacation. If you love the outdoors, make sure you try this property. .

The house was clean and came with everything we needed. The property was beautiful and we all enjoyed canoeing on the lake. We even got to see a Great Blue Heron on the lake.

The property was lovely and private. Great place to unplug as there is no WiFi or cell reception (at least on our service). Owners are very friendly and eager to help.

I could not have found a better place to come and relax at than this place. Despite coming on an extremely stormy night, the hosts went above and beyond for us to make sure my husband and I were okay and had enough supplies. They gave us a ton of info about the surrounding areas and where to go if we wanted to go exploring.
Our pups also had a great time at the camp and had so many accommodating supplies for them if needed.
The wildlife and serene nature that this cabin is enclosed by is reason enough to come back next summer!!! We saw an otter, a beaver, baby turtles, deer, and multiple species of butterflies, birds, and even fish. We quite literally had to stand back and admire the pure beauty this place has to offer.
Thank you Carol and Dan for giving us such an amazing experience and making our stay truly unforgettable in every way!!

The cottage property in the woods was absolutely beautiful. 115 acres of privacy, private pond for fishing, canoe rides, watching the beavers work on their dams every day. Dan and Carol really thought of every detail preparing the cottage for our stay. Plenty of towels, pillows, and blankets. Places for everyone to sit, a beautiful fire pit outdoors with a stockpile of firewood and kindling. Full complement of cooking supplies including spices, utensils, pots and pans, dishes, paper towels, napkins etc. Mesh bug-proof shirts available for all as the flies can be overwhelming outside. Very large Weber grill with extra propane if needed. We had hoped for wi-fi, which there was not, as cell service is nonexistent in the region, but it turned out to be refreshing to be forced to unplug for the duration of our stay. All in all we had really no complaints. Would definitely recommend and we will likely be returning ourselves.

My parents were excited to stay at this property for a peaceful getaway. It did not disappoint! They loved the tranquility and gifts of nature that they experienced. They found the cottage clean and comfortable. They loved that they were able to bring their dog. The owners are gracious hosts who are extremely kind and helpful. Highly recommend this place!

Property was as advertised, very cute inside, outside room overlooking pond great for morning coffee, quite warm in the afternoon, I would add a fan of some sort to circulate. upstairs bedroom ok stairs leading up very steep, beware..
While I would recommend this property, I would warn about going in the summertime, Black flies are relentless... definitely fall or early spring for us next time..
Oh, also there is zero reception... the ride into town is very nice and the town has everything you would need.

The owners have thought of everything right down to those who travel with their pet. The only challenge was the steep stairs to the bedroom for our dog. Would come again in warmer weather so that we could go out in the canoe. Lovely property.

Located in 110 acres of natural beauty, one cannot imagine a better getaway. I had an unexpected deadline so I had to work offline for much of my stay there, but it was deeply relaxing. I made several trips to Miller's Meat Market for outstanding meat and sweets. Get the donuts early before they're sold out!

Property was very accurate in description. Hosts were great! Available if needed. Made suggestions for restaurants as there are very few in this area. The privacy and tranquility surpassed what we thought. Our phones got no reception and it was a great respite from everyday life with electronics. There is a phone in the cottage should you need it. The only negative which would not apply to everyone would be the stairs leading to the sleeping quarters. They are steep and narrow and there is no bathroom or toliet on that floor. However, we chose to sleep downstairs on the queen size sofa sleeper which was surprisingly very comfortable for two adults.....so it all worked for us! We plan to return again - hopefully this Fall! We would highly recommend!

This was a beautiful quiet secluded property, great for a quiet weekend together and away from the rat race. Everything we needed was there, and we had a great relaxing weekend. The hosts were wonderful, and the place was very clean, organized and well equipped. My impression was that the hosts care and take great pride in this property.

We stayed here in the winter to be close to hiking trails in the Adirondacks. The owner Dan was very helpful and provided us with plenty of area trail maps. The cabin is extremely dog friendly and clean. We had everything we needed for our stay.

Perfection. Seriously. The cabin was so cozy and I felt completely at ease as soon as I stepped foot inside. It was very clean and it had every amenity we possibly could have needed (seriously... several points we thought "Dang, we should've bought x at the store" and every time it was in the house, like even dog nail clippers and a pizza slicer. The property was spectacular -- we got there at night when the lake was still liquid, and then the next morning we were greeted with light snowfall and it was beginning to freeze over. Super cool! We could see the beaver tracks going across the pond (at least I assume it was the beaver family that the guestbook talks about going back generations... wonder if it's the same family?). There was plenty of firewood, and puzzles and movies if we got bored, but my partner and I ended up not even utilizing either and instead just talked and listened to the surrounding acres of woodland at the amazing firepit. Incredible experience. Best vacation of my life up until this point. Seriously. And Carol is the sweetest human being ever, as all the other reviews mention. Just perfection. BOOK (but not in November of any year bc that's when we'll be back again ;) ).

Exactly what we needed. No interruptions or distractions. Just natures beauty at its finest. We will be booking again. This cottage has it all. Hiking, canoeing. Fishing. Reading. If you don’t enjoy your stay here it’s your own fault.

We enjoyed our stay at Forest Pond Cottage immensely—especially the remoteness and the scenery.

The property is well maintained and the house well stocked with everything you can possibly need for a vacation. All you have to bring is your food. The owners were extremely helpful and greeted us with a warm welcome when we arrived. They also provided many pamphlets, maps and information about all the sites to see and places to eat in the area. They are a Five Star couple, as well as their resident Beaver who maintains the water level in the beautiful huge pond/mini lake !!

We found the property to be very peaceful and just as described- with all amenities you wd need!
It’s a great place to relax.
And great if you don’t need to use your phone to look anything up…as there’s no wifi or cell service unless you drive 15 mins into town. We found that to be a bit limiting for us, as we are used to being able to research things to do online in real time.
Otherwise- highly recommend for a serene experience.

This makes trip number 3 for us and the cottage never disappoints. Everything was beautiful from the grounds to the home. Star gazing during the meteor shower was amazing and our pup loved jumping in the pond and walking the trails!! Dan and Carol are always such a pleasure &. I always enjoy our chats, next time when we have more time I must see the patio Carol :) Thank you again for all you do to make your guests feel at home . We can’t wait for our next getaway !!

It was a very restful place for my husband and myself. The dogs were in heaven being able to swim all day.
We would definitely recommend it, just watch out for the steep stairs to the bedroom.

This was a true paradise for me and the pups Lucy and Bodhi. Prepare to unplug and enjoy the beautiful scenery. The cottage is clean and well equipped. We explored the Stillwater Fire Tower, Frances Lake and some beautiful hiking trails. The property has lovely wooded trails and the beaver pond is huge! The dogs swam everyday. There's enough wood to have a roaring fire every night. The hosts Dan and Carol were available at any time and are just wonderful! I am going back next year for sure. Be sure to read the fascinating history of the FPC. It is inspiring. Feeling lucky to have found this place!

Just returned from a wonderful week with family - Samantha, three teenagers and three dogs. Lived up to all expectations! It was great to SLOW DOWN with no cell service or WiFi. Had fun cooking, hiking, fishing, reading books, playing games, and generally taking it easy. We did have concerns about bugs but they simply were not an issue. We loved the cottage layout, very clean and well organized, the fire pit, dock and surrounding area. Carol and Dan were right there if needed (they weren't), and made us feel very welcome. It was our first time in Adirondacks as a family and we're already making plans for next summer!

I was so pleased with the lake house. It was so much better than my expectations and even what they pictures showed. It was unbelievably clean and so well stocked with provisions. We were so impressed. Our family needed this time of relaxation and being unplugged!

Beautiful, clean/spotless. We've stayed at a few places over the years and this place has been the best. There were games, movies and fishing gear. Would stay again. Our group likes to relax and this place was perfect.

Our stay at the cottage was wonderful! This was by far our best family vacation. Finally a little piece of heaven where we can bring our furry friends. My daughters (10 and 3), and our dog Sadie absolutely loved every aspect of this home away from home. I love that there’s no cell service or WiFi. We disconnected from the world and reconnected at the hearts. There isn’t an amenity that hasn’t gone unnoticed; We appreciated all the dog friendly amenities as well as the step stool in the bathroom for my littlest. We will absolutely be returning 💙

We love this cabin!! We have stayed in the winter in the past and this summer we were so excited to spend some time in the sun with our kids and dog to enjoy the pond. Unfortunately we decided to cancel bc of the weather forecast for those 2 days. Rain rain rain 😞. Carol was extremely understanding and fully refunded us no questions asked!! What wonderful and understanding hosts! We will try again maybe in the fall… we love the quiet and nature at Forest Pond!

Carol and Dan were very charming and helpful.
I’ll definitely be booking another stay.

Dan and Carol are the best hosts anyone could ask for. The property is picturesque and the house is exactly what you need. Super clean, extremely organized, and there is absolutely anything and everything you could ever need. The weather didn’t cooperate for us but there was still plenty to do and enjoy.
Our dogs loved swimming and chasing the frogs in the pond. My husband took the canoe out to explore even in the rain.
The absolute best part was having no wifi or cell service. Unplugging from everything for the weekend was so nice.
Thanks again Dan and Carol! We hope to visit again this summer (hopefully the weather is better next time) 😊
