About this cottage rental
Newly renovated 4 bedroom, 2.5 bathrooms, sleeps 8. At the head of Linekin Bay, in a small community called Bayville, sits this storybook Maine Cottage. It is a step back in time and a perfect backdrop for treasured memories to be made. Built in the 1800s, this cottage is updated and offers a quintessential Maine vacation spot. It is truly a gem and the views are spectacular.
Enjoy a spacious kitchen, dining room, and living room with big, bright windows and exposed beams. There is a first-floor bathroom with a shower and a new half-bath off the kitchen. Upstairs find 4 newly renovated bedrooms that are in keeping with Maine cottage style and charm. Another full bath with an old-fashioned tub is located upstairs. Complete with air conditioning and heat, Bluewater Vista is comfortable in any weather. There is also a detached seating space/office that's perfect for some peace and quiet!

Splendid. Again!
This was our second time staying at Blue Water Vista and once again it was a wonderful week. The view of Linekin Bay is just as advertised. Sitting in a porch rocker with a cup of coffee on the front porch is pure joy in the morning. That same view is available from the two front bedrooms, and for a more expansive view try bringing your coffee to the top of the back yard. The ample front porch is also great for having everyone eat together.
The East Boothbay General Store is a manageable walk away and offers many delicious food options. Boothbay Harbor is a very short drive away as are a grocery store and drug store. The location is just so convenient. Peace and quiet while you are “home” but everything you need just a short drive away.
As for the house itself it is magnificent. The recent full renovation was so well done. The rooms are bright and clean, there is lots of room and everything works. Add to that some tasteful furniture choices and some lovely artwork and you really feel like you are staying at a nice hotel more than a rental cabin.
Blue Water Vista has become our new favorite destination and we are looking forward to going back every year.

This was the perfect spot for our family vacation. We enjoyed every minute in Bayville! The house was perfect. We enjoyed the porch for family meals, morning coffee, and children playing. We loved the tennis courts and the dock. The location provided easy access to local attractions. We would love to stay here again.

It was great to be with family in a place that was very functional for our group.

We thought the property was in Boothbay Harbor, as listed, but it is in a small community outside of town. For us, it worked out to be even better. The community is quiet, but conveniently located to the the places we wanted to see and hike in. The house is lovely - the view of the bay is gorgeous. The furniture and decor are elevated, artistic, but very homey. We were surprised that the shower and washer/dryer were in a outbuilding just outside of the kitchen, but that was a very minor inconvenience. The inside upstairs bathroom does have a tub. The bedrooms were nice and comfortable. We would consider renting this property again if we return to the area.

This is a true gem of a property that exceeded our expectations. Bayville is a quaint little community that dates back to 1911 with its own dock, post office (complete with old photos of community gatherings), tennis courts, and community center. My 11- and 14-year old were thrilled to discover a regulation-size ping-pong table in the community center, which got a lot of use! The house boasts a wrap-around porch complete with multiple rocking chairs and a picnic table in the sun. Gorgeous views of the ocean. Eagles, osprey, heron all were viewed regularly. Inside is pristine - extremely clean and cozy, with beautiful artwork on the walls.
We enjoyed our stay as an extended family of 9 celebrating our matriarch's 75th birthday! Would love to return. Thank you to Wendy and the owners for everything. Mark even showed up with box fans, as it was getting warm one of the days we were there. True hospitality!

We had a wonderful week here! The house was incredibly clean, but very homey and comfortable. Having a grill and laundry was a huge bonus for us, and all of the appliances and amenities were excellent. We will happily rent again!

Maine Family Vacation in Bayville
We enjoyed our stay at the Bayville Cottage. The floor plan overall worked well for our family. The view was great and the location quite but close in to BoothBay Harbor. Our neighbors were all locals and were very friendly. The porch and large yard were big hits.
The two things that made me rate the accuracy low was the following: The web site listed the cottage as having Heat but it did not! This was a very cool Spring and we were uncomfortable several cool days. The listing also said one bathroom was "off" the kitchen. What it did not say was you actually had to go outside to access that bathroom. Also, it would be helpful to add some basic utensils to the kitchen such as a measuring cup and a spatula.
I do emphasize we enjoyed our stay and would recommend the cottage to others with the understanding of the misstated facts about the cottage on the web site.

Wonderful hosts and location
My family and I had a lovely stay at this summer cottage. The hosts left thoughtful touches including a personalized gift. The location was perfect—quiet with views of the ocean but a short trip into town. Our kids also loved walking down to the shore to throw rocks on the water. Overall a lovely home and stay!
