The location is fabulous, the house is ok except for the mold. Working with Vacasa is an absolute nightmare and the title and description of the listing totally false.
The title says house with kayaks but Vacasa said the kayaks weren’t available. One bedroom was covered with mold and a terrible smell so it was unusable. Now we’re 3 adults and only 2 bedrooms! Vacasa was informed immediately with vague replies that they were contacting the owner. Three days in with no updates, I asked for a refund and was offered only a mediocre one. The dishwasher was broken too.
The Vacasa fees were equal to the cost of the rental, doubling the expected price which were unknown until the very end.
The three of us will never rent from
Vacasa again!!

Overall a lot of space, our party enjoyed the separate gaming table and having the dining and sitting area on the back sun room area most. The kayaks listed for use are children sized, so they weren’t of use to us, but we enjoyed paddle boarding. The first night we kept hearing loud sounds from the basement and in the middle of the night heard banging in the kitchen, everyone in our party was asleep and didn’t enter the kitchen at all, we were a little spooked about a ghost but it stopped the second night. Despite this, we laughed about it and enjoyed the rest of the stay and view from the back porch.

Great quiet location for a getaway. Stayed with my husband, but would also be a great place to stay with family or friends as it is very spacious!

From searching this location, booking, up-to-the- minutes prestay communication, entry, vacation in the area, thru checkout we could not have had a more enjoyable stay. The spaciousness of the grounds on Mill Pond w/ample privacy, the home with it traditional charms and renovations met all of our expectations. We complement the owners and managers on the amenities, complimentary extras and the entire pet friendly experience! We will be sureto book future stays here when we will be visiting the Boothbay areas! Thank you so much for sharing your cottage with us!

This was our second year renting and everything was just as perfect! Our kids loved kayaking and paddle boarding along with our yellow lab who swam alongside them!! It’s such a peaceful private property! We plan on returning again next year. We highly recommend this rental!!

We loved our stay. We were visiting for a family reunion and it was the perfect home to share with our cousins, including a toddler. We loved the backyard and view. We hope to come back!

Great location: very private while being a 5 min walk from delightful General Store, short drive to Boothbay Harbour.. Spacious, comfortable. Terrific screened in sunroom; very comfortable MBR. Various minor things need attention: e.g. various windows need screens, have broken shades, very hard to open; poor lighting in several rooms; double bed noisy and shot; 2 bedrooms very dark/need lighting and ceiling fans; some closet door knobs broken, MBR closet doors broken; freezer not cold enough. All MINOR REPAIRS. . VRBO manager responsive and attentive. Clearly needs more staff.....which is a problem throughout the area. If these things are attended to, it would be a great property.

The house was just perfect! My brother and his wife stayed there for 4 nights. The house was equiped with everything we needed. The sun room was wonderful and we spent most of time out there just enjoying the view of the lake. It was very quiet and serene. My husband put a puzzle together again in a separate room and we did watch a movie 1 night. If I didn't live in Florida I would love to purchase this home.......and I mean home because you felt at home.

Overall, it was great! Being early in the season, there were some glitches i.e. no hot water, water to dishwasher had not been hooked up, garbage pick up info was incorrect. Fortunately, Nicole was very responsive and took care of everything in a timely fashion. The best part of the entire property is the fire pit down by the water!

When arrived 7 windows were unlocked as was sliding door onto patio. Was very disconcerting since you were so insistent that we always lock door. Heat is not adequate and tub does not drain

This was our first trip to Maine with our three kids and we all absolutely fell in love! They enjoyed kayaking, visiting the beach and the downtown shops a short ride away. We definitely plan on returning soon!! Thank you for opening your wonderful home to us and sharing Maine with us!!

I loved the layout of the house, spacious and well equipped. The view is stunning and you really couldn’t ask for more. Convenient to so much.

It was lovely to stay here with my family! close to Portland and about 2 hrs 40 mins from Acadia national park. The only thing that can be improved is the hot water situation in the master bathroom shower. Minus that it's a beautiful cabin with old charm and ample space!

My three sisters and I met for the week in Booth Bay Harbor. The house was excellent. Extremely clean. Kitchen was well equipped, bathrooms supplies were plentiful, washer and dryer supplies as well. I would definitely rent house again. Beautiful water view and minutes from town. We went to Cabbage Island for the clambake. Great trip, food excellent.

Loved the convenient location and the quiet picturesque views from the sun room. This property is truly beautiful. Improvements: Freezer seal is deteriorated so everything melts including ice, cob webs and dust bunnies need attention in all rooms, supply more toilet paper and paper towel for a week stay. Update online listing to state that enough wood is supplied for your first fire and perhaps where you can get more. Contacted management company with questions about listing and they were unaware of the amenities listed in the posting. The description they had did not match my printout when it came to wood and kayaks available on property.

Cozy and comfy
It was a lovely place in a lovely setting. Would return in the future after the hot water issue in the master bath is corrected if it hasn't been already. Highly recommended for a tremendous stay.

A Perfect Neighborhood
The setting and the property itself are first rate.
We had a fire the last night there and saw the stars.
Being down the street from the general store and a close ride to downtown makes this house a great place to stay.

Wonderful, peaceful location
We loved this house in East Boothbay! My husband and I and our two dogs had a wonderful stay and would return in a heartbeat! The house was clean, well stocked and in a wonderful location. Very quiet and peaceful which is what we were looking for. There was not air-conditioning but we were cool enough with the windows open. There was only two of us so we only used the front part of the house but it perfect for us!

Walkable street with friendly neighbors. Private and serene accommodations
Great communication with Brooke, our local Turnkey team contact. Consider giving her a raise.

Plenty of space just needs some updates
Rental met our needs and we appreciated the amount of space indoors and outdoors. The WiFi was not great if you are trying to work remotely. Needed to be rebooted consistently. Kitchen was well stocked for functionality though decor could use a refresh and a few repairs needed like a broken window. This is not the property for you if a hot shower is important. Turnkey gave us some tips for getting hot water in showers when we contacted them (that would have been helpful to have in checkin notes) and there is plenty of hot water but the mixers for the showers are off.

Rating Details:The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty.I was very happy with the location.I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental.Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental.Reviewer Comments:We originally booked this home to come to Boothbay in April of 2020 to come out and plan our upcoming wedding but due to Covid we were forced to cancel and could not get a refund. We were told we could use the property another time which was disappointing as our only purpose for visiting that area was to plan for our wedding which we had to change all plans for. We tried to get a credit to use elsewhere but were forced to use for this home only. We received a notification saying we had to use by a certain time in 2021 so we decided to use as a getaway over my daughter's February Vacation week for a change of scenery. We arrived to find the sheets on one of the beds had stains. We then realized neither of the showers had hot water. We got someone from Turnkey to come out on day 2 to look into this issue. He was able to adjust one shower to get hot water but the other needed a plumber to come look at. This gentleman was very friendly and helpful. Day 3 no word from Turnkey on when we could expect a plumber. Day 4 a plumber finally came out but arrived when we were not home and entered the property even though we asked that no one make entry until we were home. The plumber also did not wear a mask and was not planning on giving us an update on fixing the shower. He was looking like he was leaving so we finally stopped him to ask when it would be fixed and he said it would be after we checked out. So we stayed in a home we really did not want to stay in any longer and did not even get to have the option to use the master bathroom shower the entire time we stayed there. If the shower issues did not come up and the sheets were clean our stay would have been nice. Cute home and nice location. Disappointed that Turnkey did not do a better job working with customers to be more flexible during Covid. It's disappointing we were forced to use this property after we said we had no longer had a reason to travel to the area only to run into issues.

Nice property in good location. Cottage was comfortable and well stocked with supplies. Enjoyed our stay ... wished we had more time to spend on pond!

Can't beat the spot. House is between a salt water pond and the ocean. We spent as much time outside on the property or exploring the road, boat launch and east boothbay. There is also a small town market within walking distance for coffee and breakfast. House needs some TLC. Bathrooms are definitely a spot for improvement. The kayak also had a hole in it.Either way we would consider staying again.

We found the home itself to be "tired" and in need of care. We paid $300+ per night and expected much better. We've stayed in much older vacation homes (400 year old cottage in Wales, for example), paid half as much, and had a much more updated property! Curtains were ripped, finish on the cupboards and vanities worn or peeling, mismatched dishes, cutlery, glassware (garage sale finds is what came to mind), sunroom screens repaired with tape, deck needed staining. The home sleeps six, but in order for four of us (adults) to sit comfortably in either the sunroom or living room required us to move an extra chair back and forth. The sunroom has so much potential, but a futon and futon-chair did not do the room justice. The master bath in the newer part of the house was better than the other bath...but still dated. The master bedroom is large and bright, but a king sized bed would be a better choice. Some of the furniture was scarred and worn. We said numerous times while there, "This place could be just needs love"!

Could us some additional wine glasses only three and all very small. Tried to put trash into garbage cans in the garage and both were full so had to leave on garage floor.
Also the lobster pot was burned beyond use so we left it on the back deck, it needs to be replaced as we were unable to clean it adequitely to return to use.

Great place, lots to do on property and in the area.
We loved the house, had everything we needed to enjoy cooking big meals, visiting on the porch, gathering around the fire pit and playing in the water. Beds were comfy, nice big living room to watch the playoff games, good showers. With three college age boys and an active family it was awesome to have the kayaks and SUPs right there to get out on the salt water pond. Open ocean boat ramp just across the road and down a bit, short walk to the general store for iced coffee and fresh made breads, treats and sandwiches. We will be back, perhaps with our dog!

4 day trip to Boothbay Harbor
Our stay was very nice. House was clean and ut had everything we needed. The only negative was you could find cobwebs in places. We travelled with 2 kids and 1 dog and they all had a great time. The backyard was amazing for both the dog and our kids to run around :)
