The staff was great and the amenities too. We had a great time. Parking is kind of nightmare in Chania - But not here!! Private parking and never had to worry

The breakfast they provide is exceptional! The rooftop pool with patio bar was amazing for having drinks and watching the sunset. The outdoor movie theatre was also a very cool feature. Location was fantastic as we could walk to shops and restaurants.

Stylish design. Breakfast buffet ok, best bit the cooks station making omelettes and pancakes.
Some staff friendly others not so. Friendly arrival and departure greeting but the rest of the time varies. Little touches were missing so did not exude quality of a five star. But that said, the five star rating comes from the fasciitis they have, indoor and outdoor pool, car parking, reception desk etc.
The air con was not strong enough to cool the room below 24 degrees. One unit on a split floor room not enough or not powerful enough. When you emptied the bath the water came up the drain beside the loo and flooded infront of the toilet. Other reviews have noted the same problem. Towels a bit grey and washed out not premium boutique. As were the bathroom fittings were ok but not luxurious. Plunge pools not very private so could see who ever was next room in the pool. We did not mind but others might mind. The main pool was pretty but not enough sun loungers around it. To be fair they had a balcony below with more. The sea was pleasant but had to walk past another outdoor pool not owned by the hotel and not of the same standard. If you are expecting a luxurious European boutique feel then this may not be the place for you. More of a motel vibe by the sea.

Very (family) friendly staff, good food and awesome value for money. The area itself is quite touristy and the beach is crowded but beautiful. A good place to enjoy some downtime as a couple or some family quality time.
The beach bars (not owned by this hotel) still give out plastic cups, which finally end up on the beach.
In some other top Hotels we have seen more action too be sustainable (like beeing plastic free, educational programs regarding maritime life, organised beach clean ups). For sure not everyone wants to have that in their holiday, but at this point in time....

(1) the location. just in front of the seaside in a very calm area but walking distance from restaurants and shops.
(2) the cleanliness, bright and large rooms and fine furniture
(3) the kindness of the staff
(1) the indoor pool is not really heated. Overall all the pools are quite cold (indoor and outdoor). We were staying at the end of May and still we could not enjoy the pool. they should be heated (at least the indoor one)
(2) the restaurant is very / too expensive (2x what you could get into a local place)

Honestly, we had the best holiday ever at the Atermono Boutique Resort & Spa!
The location of the hotel was very nice. It was not on the busy street but very near to all the shops and restaurants in the village, easy to get there by foot. Rethymnon town was about a 10 minute drive and also a must visit for nice restaurants, shops, drinks and party.
As soon as you enter the hotel you smell the very pleasant "smell of the house".
We got a warm and interested welcome at the reception by lovely Vallas and received a fresh welcome drink. You could ask Valia anything and she would help you right away!
The room was perfect! We had the room with the pool with very nice lights (thank you Kostas ;p)
The big pool was nice to cool down and had comfortable sunbeds.
The best part of the pool was the poolbar with the best poolbar crew. Evgenia, Kostas, Mary and Johanna are the best! Evgenia gave us the best recommendations for good restaurants and places to go. We really liked Prima Plora restaurant, Paraplous restaurant and Lemonokipos restaurant. Also the south is a must visit, we went to Damnoni beach and liked it a lot, very different from the north.
The food at the cocoon bar at the pool was also again very nice. Everyday you could switch your beach towels for fresh ones.
The breakfast was outstanding, they had anything from sweet to savory and you could also ask the cook for a fresh omelette. The cook Dimitra always had a smile on her face, every morning she was in a good mood.
Thank you again Atermono team, but espacialy Valia, Evgenia, Kostas, Mary and Johanna for the lovely stay and the sweet words, we miss you already!
Love, Erik and Chelsea

Beautiful accommodations with beachfront access, multiple pools (including private room pool/patio and shared upper level pool overlooking sea). Very friendly, helpful staff and amazing breakfast each morning!
Great location 10 min drive to Rethymno port, and located 1/2-way between Heraklion and Chania, so great central location to access those areas (and Plakias area in south) while visiting Crete.
Nothing. It was a great place to stay in Crete.

The staff were amazing, very helpful and kind. The breakfast and dinner were great. Hotel was very clean with simple but tasteful decor. There was underground secure parking. We tried the spa, service was great but a bit pricey!

Pool - breakfast - restaurant - bar - staff - spa
We booked a suite with private pool. The A/C wasn’t enough. The bedroom in the upper floor doesn’t have a mirror. A closet in the bedroom is also needed. The existing closet in the lower floor is not enough for a family.

Lovely hotel for staying with a loved one or with your family! I haven't seen much hotels with a staff kind and charming as those people working at the Atermono hotel. Even the hotel is not a dedicated family hotel everyone was lovely with our kids! Especially employees at the pool bar and the breakfast area. Rooms are beautiful and the location next to the beach was perfectly quiet.
Staff, as lovely as they have been, was incredibly slow and at the pool bar not that well organized. If you consider eating dinner at the pool bar - prepare for one hour of waiting for your pizza or greek salad.

The service was excellent and the team of staff are friendly and go out of their way to help. the hotel is spotless and daily cleaning service is excellent.
The pools are great and the rooftop pool and sunbathing areas are fantastic.
The breakfasts were great and a fantastic start to every day.
The view from our hotel balcony was poor - over a neglected car park.

The hotel needs to address the mosquito issue.

Staff were extremely helpful, attentive and friendly. Took care of all our requests and needs. Great buffet breakfast with excellent service too. Stylish hotel, nice pool and bar for relaxing, and with a good selection of cocktails available.
