This house was perfect for our family of four. It's close enough to town to be able to walk in (with a stroller), and also just far enough away to provide the mountain charm we were looking for. The property manager was also extremely responsive for any questions we had. We would certainly book again.

Beautiful neighborhood, close enough to Main St for convenience, but tucked away for the feeling of privacy and seclusion. Enormous fireplace and wonderful large porch. A wonderful home away from home.

We loved the house.
We loved the house. It was perfect for our needs. The one note I had is about the central air. I don't think the thermostat works. I tried to turn on the air conditioning (although the weather was cool and lovely, I have allergy-induced asthma, and pollen can be a problem for me.) I don't think the AC turned on, and the fan ran constantly although it was set to automatic

We love this home because it is tucked away yet so close to town. The neighborhood is quiet and the wildlife is abundant. It makes for a very enjoyable stay. Had no need. Very communicative and thorough before the stay, during and afterwards.

We had a lovely stay in Highlands. The home was clean and very conveniently located to town yet peaceful and tucked away. We didn’t have any issues that required us to contact anyone but the communications after booking and during our stay via the emails sent were very thorough.

TV Issues
All TV's were inoperable! Den TV remote was missing; finally found it under sofa cushions. Also, HDMI cable on den TV was disconnected. Bedroom TV remotes were switched. Called Joe & he came and got downstairs bedroom & den TV's working, but was unable to get upstairs TV to work.
Recommendation: With this much trouble with TV's, I would recommend having someone check out TV's prior to client arrival. Troubleshooting should not be left up to client!

Pleasant but dated
What’s up with poor lighting in vacation rentals? I had a lamp with maybe a 40w bulb on the table next to me. Pigtail bulbs with shades that didn’t fit in the bedroom. Old oak furniture ok, but the mirror over the chest of drawers needs to be pitched. Dated Formica countertop in kitchen.

This is a tired older home with awful lamps/lighting.
This is a tired older home with awful lamps/lighting. Sofa needs hassocks/ottomans at each end. Worn out Formica in kitchen. Coded front door lock is great but the sliding glass doors don’t lock. The Queen bedroom needs new lamps and new mirror over the dresser. Kitchen well appointed. A very good effort on explaining the rules. Regulations were fair.

Cute little cabin-type mountain house
We enjoyed the stay that this house over the Christmas holiday. The property even had been decorated a bit for Christmas and left us some goodies, which made us feel very welcome. It's a short-enough walk to town, which we really enjoy. The house itself was comfortable and the big windows provided great lighting. The bed linens were nice, and the kitchen well-appointed. Overall a very great place for a small family.

Just OK!
Property was not as close to town as we thought(walking distance was a long way!) House was very clean and beds were good! It was an older home in pretty good shape. Needs a "good" frying pan! (we had breakfast at house on several mornings.........
the eggs consistently stuck to the pan!!! Oh well!!!!

Great location
This property was clean and just as advertised, located only a short walk (or even shorter drive) to downtown. While the appliances and fixtures are a little dated, everything was in perfect order and we had no issues at all. It was very quiet and comfortable.

Great location
Property was as advertised. Excellent location. Enjoyed the covered deck! Had breakfast and dinner outside each day.
Property manager Alicen and maintenance man Joe were extremely responsive when smoke alarm started beeping late Sunday evening!
Bathrooms weren't great. Fiberglass tub/shower with peeling wallpaper. But overall, quite satisfied.

3 1/2 really
The property was well equipped and had lots of fixings, BBQ, games, CD's, DVD, pots/pans etc. The property is showing a little signs of age, TV sets in the rooms didn't work. The furniture (sofa) could have been cleaner (food in-between cushions), and stuff under the beds are a sign that a deep cleaning is required. I would book again though.

Needs updating
The method of checking in was easy, never had any contact with agent. Good instructions on what to do at the house upon leaving. The location of the property is good.
The house is just old and in dire need of updating. The lighting was not good and it always just felt dark in there. The air conditioner was great. I think this house would be good for families with kids and you were out of the house most of the day. The porch was nice. The linens need to be refreshed. The shower curtains need to be replaced. They smell sour after you start taking showers in the bathrooms. I would not recommend this property.
