This cabin was the perfect home base for exploring the Laurel Highlands. The home was clean and comfortable and had everything we needed. We especially enjoyed the deck and the fire pit. Thanks for sharing your home with us, Mary.

We stayed here right after Christmas with our extended family of 8, as a home base for skiing a t Seven Springs. The cabin was perfect, tons of rooms, lots of games, plenty of kitchen equipment and utensils, a table big enough for all of us, and a great cabin feel. It’s only 10 minutes from Seven Springs (and just under an hour to Pittsburgh in case it’s too warm to ski - great city to visit). Easy to access but still very private. Would definitely stay here again.

We had two families who live in different states gather at this cabin to celebrate New Year’s. The accommodations worked out very well for us. The games at the cabin were fantastic! The kitchen needed at least one baking pan to put food in the oven.

We spent the weekend with 2 other couples at the cabin. Lots of privacy from surrounding neighbors due to the large mountain laurel. Cabin was clean. Spent the entire time hanging out in the first floor. The fireplace was a tremendous asset with an abundance of firewood that was perfectly cut. The temp went down to zero the first night and thus roaring fire. We didn’t use the large upstairs as it was set up as a game room with foosball and other activities. Not sure if tv in that room. If we had kids with us they could have utilized that space away from the parents. The wooden floors throughout the cabin were extremely squeaky for an ~ 20 year old cabin. You could hear every footstep upstairs above the master as if the person was walking in your room! Wish there was 2 full baths with showers as there was only one shower and a funky jacuzzi in the middle of the master bedroom. Not taking a bath in that, showering only! The linens, pillows, and towels were provided, but definitely need to be upgraded. As well, the dinnerware could be upgraded too. There was a hodge podge of coffee mugs. A few rather “unique” decorations were perplexing. A large budha in the corner of the kitchen and a large black mannequin upstairs was a little odd. Those few upgrades (not including the harder to do additional shower) would have changed my rating from B- to B+. Checkout was an unusually early 10am, but Mary the owner promptly replied back to me with a several hour extension. If we had kids with us they could have played up there.

This property was perfect for hosting our family and friends for my husband’s 60th birthday. Plenty of room to spread out, play games, watch the Eagles beat the Giants and eat wonderful food. Mary was super to work with and a wonderful host. Very close to Hidden Valley and 7 Springs Ski Resorts.

Our family spent a snowy Christmas weekend at this lovely chalet in the woods. It had everything we wanted and needed. The owner was kind, and we appreciated staying in her beautiful house.

We totally enjoyed our Thanksgiving getaway. It was everything we hoped for; stress-free, relaxing, comfortable and loads of fun. We were able to relax by the fire, play air hockey and board games, cook a complete Thanksgiving dinner and go hiking. The cabin is clean, well maintained and if needed the owner is available.

Beautiful and relaxing getaway
This is a great property, close to the Pittsburgh area and right next to Seven Springs. It feels private and cozy, surrounded by beautiful rhododendron. I’m sure we will visit again.

Lots of space and game room loft was awesome. Tons of firewood to keep warm. Only one small shower but we made it work.

Stay January 2022
We enjoyed our stay. Close to seven springs and skiing. Bathrooms and kitchen clean but floors were dusty with some dirt on steps. There was no key for us to use in the house as we were told, only in the lockbox outside. Upstairs bedroom tv remote does not work and batteries corroded. We did speak to property manager concerning the key.

We stayed here for a family biking trip in and out of nearby Connellsville. The cabin has ample sleeping arrangements, comfortable shared living spaces and we especially enjoyed the porch and deck.

Great cabin for state park adventures
Great communication. Lovely cabin, well furnished. Like any place it has its quirks that add to the experience but these are detailed in listing. Slept 4 adults and two children easily with room for more. Great porch for grilling or relaxing. Would come back! Easy access to a number of parks in area. Thanks for a great stay.

We were looking for a rustic cabin for our getaway and we’re very pleased with the upgrade in this home. Beds are super comfortable and the added bonus of recreation games added more fun to our time! Kitchen suited our needs well.

Nice Wooded Retreat
Great interior space for the whole family. Stocked kitchen made meal prep much easier. Proximity to a ton of activities was great. Host was communicative and very helpful. Would have loved to use the outdoor space more but it needed a serious clean before that was feasible. Other than that it was a fantastic experience.

A beautiful log cabin nestled in the forest.
A spacious four bedroom cabin with all of the modern conveniences. The grounds, home and furnishings were all what we were seeking for a family retreat, with the host being most helpful and accommodating. A winner.

Great time.
The house was cozy and we had a great long weekend there. A few hiccups but nothing that wasn't fixed quickly by Mary or ourselves. Would recommend to other people.

Beautiful home in the woods
We had a lovely weekend at this cabin. It was more than spacious enough for our family of five, and we enjoyed being so close to ski resorts. The weather wasn’t great though, so we enjoyed making a fire, watching movies, and cooking in the fully stocked kitchen. When we come back to Seven Springs we will definitely check to see if this place is available!

Cute and cozy cabin!
The kids enjoyed the air hockey and foosball. We played Clue and Uno, but had many different games to choose from. I appreciated having a crockpot at our disposal to have a hot hearty meal waiting for us upon our return from the slopes. The cabin was nicely equipped and the beds were comfortable. The purpose of our trip was to ski/snowboard and there is not a lot of room when you enter the cabin to park your boots/snowpants/helmets/mittens/etc. upon return, but we made do. We did have to plan our hot water usage among the 6 of us, but the owner has plans to remedy this in the future. The internet was spotty for us, but we made it through a 1/2 day of school and work with the use of our hot spots. Mary was a good host and easily accessible via VRBO and phone.

Fun get away
It’s nice to have an option for bringing a pet along! The house was cute, close to a great ski hill and beautiful state park. Hopefully the manager will add more kitchen towels, and hand towels for the bathrooms.

Cabin in the woods - and a forest of rhododendrons
Cozy log cabin, with rustic charm and a very functional kitchen! We cooked an entire Thanksgiving meal for 5 adults and 3 kids here. Weather was mostly grey but we had things to do inside - air hockey in the loft was a big hit!Went for a hike nearby at Ohiopyle Park which was fantastic. Owner, Mary, was very helpful .and responsive. Our family was happy. If you have little ones, be aware that sound travels in this house! A good visit with our loved ones during crazy Covid time.

Mixed Review
The house was very comfortable and met our needs. However, we had two issues:
1. The house only has one shower, which made it problematic at times. While the description of the house does mention that the master has a Jacuzzi tub, it does not explicitly mention that that tub does not have a shower. If we had know that, we likely would not have rented the property.
2. We left Atlanta for Laurel Highlands Saturday morning and received an email after we left that we would have to provide our own bed sheets and towels. We had to stop on the way and purchase these. This should have been communicated up front, or at least earlier, before we had left home.
