Brisas Del Mar is located on the quiet side of St John overlooking Coral Bay, a 30 minute drive from Cruz Bay. The villa is situated less than a 10 minute drive to groceries, shops, restaurants and bars in Coral Bay. Several beautiful national park beaches are a 15 to 25 minute drive.
The villa structure survived the fury of two category 5 hurricanes in September 2017, but it has taken many months to repair the decks, the balcony roof, and the interior. There are new windows, doors, ceiling fans, new deck railings, hurricane shutters, new bedroom furniture and a new hot tub. The house has been completely repainted.
Enjoy the beautiful sunrise and Caribbean sea breezes from this villa perched 250 feet above Coral Bay on the western hillside. This quaint harbor is filled with cruising sailboats from St John and other ports throughout the western hemisphere.
Brisas del Mar is primarily a one-level villa with the pool and deck directly outside the sliding glass doors. Hot tub located on the lower level deck. The house has tiled floors throughout, beamed and vaulted ceilings, and ceiling fans in every room. There is no air conditioning, since the south-easterly breezes are almost constant. The great room affords expansive views of East End and the British Virgin Islands through two sets of screened sliding glass windows.
All 3 bedrooms have sliding doors with similar east views. Two en suite bedrooms are located at opposite ends of the villa on the main level to ensure maximum privacy. A spiral staircase leads to the third en suite bedroom with private balcony and spectacular sunrise vistas. Bed linens, towels and beach towels are provided.
The living area includes cable TV, WIFI internet access, DVD, stereo with CD and cassette deck player, books, games, puzzles, and tropical artwork. There is ample seating for diners from the casual bar to the formal mahogany table seating six or enjoy the views from the glass-top table on the deck outside seating up to six. The well equipped kitchen features mahogany cabinets and countertops, a native stone and mahogany island/bar, stainless steel refrigerator/freezer, gas stove/oven, microwave, dishwasher, coffeemakers, espresso machine, toaster, blender, mixer, cookware and dinnerware.
An outdoor gas grill and laundry room with washer and dryer complete the "at home in paradise" atmosphere. Ice chests in several sizes and beach chairs are available for island exploring.
Relax and enjoy the extensive views of Coral Bay and the British Virgin Islands all the way to Virgin Gorda from a pool-side chaise or the hot tub. The almost constant tropical breeze and multiple ceiling fans keep the house cool throughout the day and night.
Access to the villa is on an adventurous partially paved road which may be rough in places. Although the drive with curves and switch-backs is less than 1/2 mile, a 4-wheel drive vehicle is required.
As your on island property managers, Antares will be there to assist with your arrival and during your stay. Welcome to your island home away from home!
Power is provided to St. John via an underground cable from St. Thomas. Our power supply is not always reliable and power outages are not uncommon. They are typically short lived, but can last for a few hours. These outages can happen with or without warning from the island’s power company, known as WAPA. We will do our best to keep you comfortable and informed. Antares strives to make your villa stay as comfortable and trouble free as possible. Please understand that power outages are out of our control. Please note, water will not work during an outage. There are no refunds for power loss.

Amazing week spent with amazing people with amazing views. The house was just like described. Definitely recommend this house to anyone looking a great vacation. Can’t wait to visit again!

We loved the setup of the house with 3 bedrooms, each with their own bathroom and acces to the outside, the hottub and swimming pool. If there is a drawback, it is the condition of the road up to the house. While driveable, it made multiple trips in and out during the day difficult.

Lovely home with gorgeous views of Coral Bay and beyond. Beautiful sunrises

Nice amenities, plenty of space, comfy beds. Pool and sauna were nice as well. No A/C not a problem. You do need a 4WDrive to access.

Second visit to St John and this house was mediocre compared to our first stay. We would have stayed at Villa Tiffany again but it’s under construction; and our second choice home, Villa Ventosa, wasn’t available when my family of five could make the trip. This house, “while clean and offering a two star view lacks a comfortable feeling” according to two adult sons who traveled with my husband and me. The ride to the house is challenging. Close to multiple grocery stores which is a plus. Pool was not used much, water is way too cold, so hot tub was a plus. We spent our days at the beach but eat in most nights. First naught we had to change the propane tanks to cook inside and outside leaving us feeling like we were back home. And I judge on little things like is there bottles of water in fridge for all in party when we arrive after a day of travel and is there extra supplies: soap, paper towels, toilet paper; and basics like candles and bug spray available, the answer at this house is NO. At the end of the day we had a great vacation, wonderful memories made. And, when I come back, this isn’t the house we will stay in.

The house was perfect for our annual Father’s Day trip with our grown kids and teenagers. The views were unbelievable and the road an adventure! Don’t let it scare you, it gets easier and easier each time. The hot tub was the perfect way to unwind every evening after a full day out. Several great restaurants and markets right near also.

The house accommodates six adults very comfortably, with 3 spacious bedrooms each with good mattresses and pillows, and with outdoor access, 3 private bathrooms, comfortable living and dining areas and well equipped kitchen. Beach towels, coolers, beach chairs, everything you need for days on the beach. TV and internet easy to use and reliable. We loved the wall colors, furnishings and flooring throughout. Stunning views from all rooms over Coral Bay. Wonderful breezes, no insect issues. Challenges of getting up and down the very long and very rough drive made us think twice about going back into town more than necessary, though it did not feel unsafe -- just challenging, rough, and uncomfortable for one of our group with back issues.

I can't say enough good things about this house, the location, view and the support of the rental agency throughout the process of planning our stay and during our stay. The house is just as advertised and very spacious. It easily fit our group of 6 adults. The location is fantastic, just a short drive from great restaurants, bars and grocery stores in Coral Bay and a short drive to some fantastic beaches and hiking. The views from the pool, hot tub, and deck are the perfect place to relax in the afternoon and evening. We'd definitely come back and stay here again!

Our family stayed at Brisa del Mar for our daughter's wedding. It was just the of five us and Island Mike, the minister at Trunk Bay. After the wedding, we spent the week exploring the island. The house's hot tub was the perfect place to relax after snorkeling all day. Would highly recommend this house except for the drive up the hill!!! It is not for the faint of heart.

Brisas Del Mar Magic
Everything was great. Views, accommodations, responsiveness of property manager, and so much more. The only drawback was the road to the rental - a bit treacherous. All in all, we loved every minute.

Worth the trek
This is the second time that we've stayed at Brisas del Mar. It is a villa high on the hillside outside Coral Bay, St. John, USVI. It is a harrowing drive up to the house, but once you've done it, it gets easier and less challenging. And it is all worth it for the view and the trade winds!

Driving to the location was a little rough, but the house itself was wonderful. There was plenty of space, and the views were wonderful.

Birthday Trip
We had 6 adults and there was plenty room. The property was beautiful! The views were amazing. You have to watch the sunrise from the hot tub it's incredible. They thought of everything as far as amenities go. We never had to call for anything, they had everything on hand. The only problem is it gets hot inside the house. The breeze outside is wonderful just not as much inside the house. As long as your outside you'll stay cool

Couples 2021 was a success!!
For our annual couples trip this year, we were fortunate to stay at Brisas Del Mar. The property was perfect for our trip, and the property management was helpful and very responsive. We will definitely be back!!

A wonderful week
The property was beautiful, the roads were as everyone described, pretty adventurous. The dishwasher didn't seem to work right so many of the cups were stained with coffee at arrival and others seemed dirty. The pool was cold but a fun addition and we loved swimming In it. Unfortunately the smell from the trash area at the bottom of the mountain was TERRIBLE (not the properties fault at all), but at certain times it would reach the villa and was super unpleasant. The beach towels and floaties were awesome! The outside cooler unfortunately was dirty and smelled terrible so we didn't use that. Overall we had a wonderful stay, Tracy couldn't have been nicer and we thank her for all the communication and meeting us to take us up to the villa. Make SURE you rent a jeep and make sure you get reservations at restaurants in Cruz Bay.:) Until next time...

Great island experience
This place is great if you want to get away from the hustle of Cruze Bay. The house is a true island experience. The drive up and down from the house is differ the what most people are used too. When they suggest a 4 wheel drive believe them. The views, the pool, the hot tub were all great. The house does not have A/C but there is always a good breeze. The house had one fan and we used that in the second floor bedroom. Any later in the summer we may of picked up another for the sensors downstairs bedroom. The house felt very safe and didn’t have any concerns. The market at the end of the road was great. The beaches on coral bay side were great for snorkeling. We had a blast and I would stay here again.

Relaxing week at Brisas Del Mar
Overall we really enjoyed our stay. The property was a great set up for a party of 6, with each couple getting their own bathroom. We were glad someone met us upon arrival and drove us to the property, as directions to the house would have been complicated. I would highly recommend 4WD on your rental car.
The pool was a little to cold for us on most days, but we spent plenty of time in the hot tub. The kitchen was well stocked with what we needed for cooking, minus spices. The washer and dryer worked great.
Lastly the views from the patio were fantastic!

Beautiful location
Brisas Del Mar was a little slice of heaven. The views from the house were amazing! We loved the deck area and spent most of our time capturing the view and using the pool and hot tub. The rooms and beds were very comfortable and the kitchen had everything we needed. We will be back!

More good than bad
Management staff at Antares Property & Hospitality were unbelievable; maintaining communication with me and responding to my questions and concerns. I felt like I had a direct line to them before my trip even started. They dealt with some housekeeping issues very quickly. The road to the property is a rough one. Causing us a flat tire one day. But Amalie Car Rental was quick to assist and no time was lost in getting to the beach! House is well laid out. Kitchen was well stocked to my surprise but could use some updating. Bathrooms were great with good water pressure. Bed comfortable. Perfect pool and spa area. Just what we needed during this difficult time!! Good value!

On top of the world
The views from this property are amazing. The open floor plan with three separate bedrooms and baths allowed for group fun followed by privacy. It was great to have a hot tub and a pool. It’s a climb to get up there but so worth it. Everything you could want!

Brisas vacay
Antares provided great details regarding ferry, taxis, car rental that made planning easy. We were met promptly and guided right to the house. Close proximity to restaurants and grocery stores, great view, and plenty of supplies for planning beach days. Laundry is nice so you can pack light! Would recommend and would stay here again!

Delightful and heavenly
Beautiful home. Big beds. Very central to the beaches as we went everywhere. I will stay again. The one thing that could give you pause is that it really is on top of a mountain. If you have been to St. John's then you know what that means. The drive up is invigorating. If you do not like driving in St. John's roads then don't stay here. Otherwise, the view is breathtaking. The prevailing winds mean no need for air conditioning.

Beautiful views, comfortable beds, well stocked home
We had a great stay at Brisas Del Mar from booking to our depature. The Folks at Antares were terrific to deal with. The house itself is spacious enough so that everyone in our party of 6 could enjoy time together, but also find space for time alone. All mattresses and sheets were very comfortable. Views are beautiful. The home is well stocked for cooking meals and beach needs: chairs, coolers of several types, ice packs for the coolers, plenty of beach towels. Outdoor seating is varied and plentiful.
Next door neighbors are lovely. Would happily to return to this home on our next trip to STJ.

Breathtaking views, wonderful breeze, fabulous deck, spacious comfort
Everything about this very comfortable accomodation on St. John is truly great. The broad view overlooking Coral Bay is omnipresent as you move about the house. You will naturally gravitate to the generously proportioned bi-level front deck (with beautiful pool and a separate hot tub), where the view is most immersive and accompanied by the gentle engulfing of a pleasant and reliable breeze courtesy of the famous trade winds. Two of the 3 bedrooms open onto the main deck via sliding glass doors, while the 3rd bedroom (upstairs) allows you to enjoy both view and breeze from a more personal sized upper deck with table, chairs and comfortable room for two. The spectalular vista remains front and center from the spacious vaulted-ceiling living/dining/kitchen area. If visual beauty bothers you, you must stay away from this house, for you will be fairly pickled in it by the time you have to leave.
Tile flooring throughout the house lends a feel of solid luxury and comfort. Comfortable sofas and coffee table (games included) in the livingroom. Reliable wifi and electric power, great lighting, plentiful ceiling fans. The bedrooms are large and tastefully furnished. Each bedroom has an adoining bathroom with shower. The beds are very comfortable, and the cotton bedsheets a delight-- much better than anything we've slept in, perhaps ever (are these the rumored French bed linens that are so hard to find in mainland US due to tariffs?).
The kitchen has everything you need to cook up what you fancy: island, big fridge, gas range & oven, propane grill out back, dishwasher, blender, 4-slice toaster, coffee maker. I found every utensil, vessel and pan that I sought, and common ingredients are on hand (cooking oil, spices, etc.). Three grocery stores are nearby (~10 minutes by car).
Our hosts were incredibly welcoming, helpful, and available to solve problems and to recommend or procure anything from massage to kayaks, charters and snorkel gear. We were received by Annette, a neighbor who met us in Coral Bay and led us up the steep and bumpy road (it takes a little over 6 minutes, 4 wheel drive not required but we felt glad to have rented a jeep). Annette gave a generous amount of her time to show us around the house and answer our endless questions about post-hurricane St. John. The short version-- St. John is largely recovered: the people rock; snorkeling is awesome; infrastructure is quite up to modern comfort level; the whole experience is magical.

Paradise!
I'll start with...YES, we'd go back in a heartbeat! If you have never rented a villa on an island, please do your research first. Living in someones home is NOT hotel living. Having said that, this villa has just about anything you could need for supplies. We have stayed in other villas that are not nearly as well equipped. They have a local caretaker who is second to none! The villa is beautiful, spacious and very reasonably priced considering all it has to offer. The owners are delightful to work with, and clearly care about their island paradise. Basically, we have nothing but great things to say about our stay at Villa Brisas. So what things should you have your eyes open about? St. John is a mountainous island. If you fear driving a 4W drive vehicle on hilly terrain with switchbacks and washed out sections of roads then this may not be your island and this may not be your villa. The villa does not have air conditioning. If you need a cold room to sleep, this is not your villa. We stayed in July/August and it was warm with just the fans and trade winds (not uncomfortable). We had a three hour power outage one night which is not unusual for islands. We managed with candles, flashlights and stayed cool on the deck (no fans). It was part of the adventure, and makes for great stories. Remember, not a hotel, no generators. That's about it...the rest was amazing! The views are spectacular. It is hard to leave the pool. There are plenty of food shopping options. There are several very good restaurants nearby. The wildlife around the villa is amazing (Bananaquits, Kestrels, Hummingbirds, Geckos, Lizards, Iguanas, Goats, Donkeys, etc). The majority of the beaches are within a 15min drive. The snorkeling is remarkable. Oh, the gas stations are on the other side of the island, so plan accordingly. We would highly recommend this villa to anyone who understands what renting someone's home in paradise is all about. You take out your own trash! We loved it!!!!

Loved it!!
My family loved staying at this villa. The photos do not show how beautiful it really is. We could not have found a more perfect vacation home. Coral Bay and its people are wonderful as well. We truly enjoyed exploring the island and having this home to come back to. We were glad we had a Jeep with good clearance to get up there, but the it was sure worth the driving adventure. Thank you for sharing your home.

Pleasantly surprised......the house was nicer then the pictures,
The layout was perfect for 3 couples each having their own bedroom, bathroom and balcony. Plenty of room for privacy or socializing in the main living area. The house was well kept, and very very clean. The views were very nice overlooking the sea and mountains. The hot tub was great with lots of jets. Needed nothing the house was stocked, even had extra snorkel, beach chairs. Would recommend this place.

A very comfortable, well-stocked place with a great view and privacy
We stayed for 10 days in February 2017. The villa is well-stocked and very comfortable, truly a home away from home. Everything is in place and ready in the kitchen and bathrooms, also it was great that we had access to beach towels, coolers, beach chairs, etc. It is very kind of owners to provide those to all of us. The house does show normal signs of wear and tear, but these are very minor. The carerakers Sally and Buck were very responsive and available when needed (we only had one minor problem when we were there). Everything is very functional, operational and in good shape. The pool is a little cold, but refreshing on a hot day. The hot tub is adequate. There is no AC, as stated, due to trade winds. The house does get a little hot around 11 and through 3.30 or so when the front (which faces East) is in the shade. It becomes nice and cool then. We usually left around 10.30 and were back by 4-6, so didn't have a problem with this. The road to the house did not bother us - it was a little bumpy, but we had a 4WD and sometimes went up and down several times. It was a pleasure dealing with the owners as well.

Our second year staying at this house! We love it, perfect for our family. The views are spectacular! The pool is so nice for our kids to play, and the house has everything we need. I could spend hours looking at the views from the deck.

Private & loved the breezes!
The reviews prior where all correct, and very helpful for me in picking this house. I will add for July you will have some amazing breezes, open all sliders& windows and you won't need a/c and it helps that this house is the last house on this road for privacy. You will not be disappointed, best part of this vacation was coming home to beautiful views and soaking in the hot tub after a long day of fun...We used take out from Oasis (inexpensive) and shopped at Dolphin market. Can't wait to go back, and thank you so much for sharing your beautiful home.
