About this farm stay rental
A former Laird's House, Morenish is ideal for large family/ friends gatherings, as well as walkers, fishing and cycling groups. Set back from the banks of Loch Tay, within 50 acres of its own gardens/ grounds, guests can enjoy a gentle stroll down to the loch.
The house is well equipped, one of the key features being the central "hub" - this includes a large space incorporating kitchen (with aga), dining area and living room (with wood-burning stove) - the open plan layout means no-one is left out, and is a great area for get-togethers at the end of a long day!
Immediately outside the house is the central courtyard, safe for young children, large lawn (croquet anyone?), as well as woods and streams - there's even a waterfall! On the doorstep are numerous activities, including - salmon fishing, hill walks, canoeing, watersports, golf, bird watching. Also within easy driving distance are various historic sites and places of interest, including the famous Falls of Dochart at Killin.

Great time was had by all at Morenish house, the house is great, perfect for us and so much room for all 12 in our party, the Loch is is 10min walk but a bit of a hike with the SUPS and kayaks 😜 we still made great use of the Loch and used it as much as possible, John the housekeeper is alway very helpful and friendly and nothing is to much trouble, I can recommend this house to anyone looking for a large house with a lived in feel and close to a Loch with plenty of walking around the area, many thanks to the owners and of cause John.

We had a wonderful time, our second stay at this property. It’s brilliant for the whole family, lots of beautiful places to walk to, enclosed garden so you know the kids and dogs are safe.

We had a very pleasant stay at Morenish House with our family of 20 persons (between16-85 years old).
Close to the lake for an early dip in the morning (if you like cold water), close tot several munroes for nice walks, close to the village of Killin for shops and other things, and close tot the golf course for those who like to play.
The house was very well equipped (kitchen, play-room, plenty of sitting-space) had plenty of rooms and bathrooms for a family and is situated in a very nice environment. Communication with Alistair was very accuare and friendly, and also John (Caretaker) was very friendly and helpfull.
I would very much recommend this house to families up to 20/22 persons for celebrating a nice and quiet holiday in the Highlands of Scotland.

19 of us stayed here for mums surprise 70th birthday weekend. We had a fantastic time. House is massive for all of us and we spent the weekend enjoying it. Had a fantastic time.

We had a lovely break at Morenish House.
The house caters very well for large groups with mixed age groups. The communal kitchen/dining/seating area is definitely a great hub for everyone to gather with many other areas for the kids and teens to spread out and have their own space.
Access to Loch Tay allowed for some swimming and paddle boarding while the surrounding area was lovely for walking the dogs.
John and Alistair were both great at dealing with any problems or questions we had promptly.

Absolutely the best value break we have ever had everything we could have wished for even the weather was brilliant.fully stocked appliances and perfect for a special Party would recommend this to anyone who has a special party coming up. Thanks Alistair for letting use your perfect venue

We had a great stay at Morenish House. It is a perfect place for a large group as there’s so much space both inside and outside. The cooking and eating facilities were great and all 14 of us enjoyed meals together and slept in comfortable beds. The furniture and decoration is in keeping with an old building which must need a lot of maintenance. We particularly enjoyed the pool table and table tennis table and used the outside space to relax. We walked down to the loch and enjoyed the scenery and had a great meal at the Killin Hotel. Everyone agreed it was a perfect place for our family get together and we hope to be back soon.

Location was perfect. House is huge and plenty of room for everyone. Decor and rooms a bit dated but did not deter from our stay. children loved playroom and all in all we had an excellent weekend.

This property is so unassuming but truly excellent. The house is akin to a tardis and is just a gift that keeps on giving! We had an excellent time not least because John (the caretaker) was such a genuinely nice person.
The area is lovely with lots to do including a wee swim in the Tay. Aside from the horse-flies this was a perfect weekend away for a large group

Very authentic feel to the building and the decor, we had a lovely stay. The house is a little like a maze due to the size but so lovely. Kitchen could do with a couple more essentials such as tin foil and clingfilm but there is a local shop in driving distance with all the things you need!

A perfect place for my large family, room for us all not to be on top of one another. The house facilities were perfect and the rooms quiet at night. The house was lovely, warm and homely. Near to visit fun places for all the family, we went to the Crannog centre and Auchengarich as well as a good walk to the falls at Bracklinn. We wish to come back another time as we all live at opposite ends of the country and a perfect meeting point

Liked it very much very comfortable plenty ofspace.some guests felt the bathrooms needed to be labelled because at night you couldnt be sure you werent entering someones room.However we all enjoyed our stay

We stayed in Morenish over Christmas and booked Asda to deliver food for the whole holiday (a good tip). First the house is amazing, quite quirky in a great way - Alistair and John ensured the house was ready for us with loads of logs for the wood burner. Our four dogs loved the opportunity to run loose in the ample grounds, down to the Loch. The more energetic of our group had long walks in the snow but the inclement weather prevented us climbing Ben Lawers. Would we recommend Morenish - no hesitation in saying absolutely it contributed to a fantastic Family Christmas.

We enjoyed our extended family Christmas celebrations here so much last year, we returned for another visit. It didn't disappoint - much fun had by all, appreciating the games room in particular.

We are four old Uni friends who were looking for somewhere to spend a few days catching up along with our mums and kids so nine in all. Morenish House could easily have held twice as many and was the perfect location for us. The house itself was fabulous and the views over the loch were totally breathtaking.

Morenish was perfect for our group - amazing location and views out to the loch with the ability to wander in the grounds and go for a loch swim. The rooms were varied as some had doubles and singles and there were plenty of bathrooms. Beds were comfy and warm. The house was warm with the heating and aga and we loved the ability to start our own fire. Kitchen was well stocked with utensils and cooling implements and a variety of basic spices.
Communication was excellent with the owner and the check-in/check-out process was easy and streamlined.
Thanks for a great stay, definitely a place I would book again if needed somewhere to accommodate a large group.

Large traditional farmhouse, very spacious and enough room for a large group. great for kids and adults with a lovely play room and pool room. Short walk to the Loch. We will definitely be booking again.

Fantastic views and family getaway
We had a large family gathering to celebrate a big Anniversary. We were blessed with sunshine and the views were stunning. We had ages 3-70 and everyone enjoyed their stay. We made good use of the BBQ, garden, playroom and games room.

Morenish House should be available on prescription
This wonderful place took us in with room to spare. Three generations completely delighted with everything it had to offer.

Relaxing experience with a large family group from children to grandparents. For some in our group, this was our 4th trip back! The ample accommodation and facilities give plenty of space and freedom, yet a place to be altogether. The owner and caretaker were attentive and helpful.

Fantastic space
This was a perfect venue for our large family gathering. We enjoyed the games room and having such a big open kitchen/dining/living area was just right for our Christmas dinner (didn't quite get the timing right with the Aga, but we got there!).

Superb property in an amazing location
The house offer so much flexibility for large groups like ours. It was very well equipped and comfortable.
Nothing better than a lovely long walk in beautiful landscape and returning to a welcoming log fire.
Plenty to keep the kids occupied too.

This was our second visit to Morenish house with the family.
The space is fantastic for our family of 23 including babies.
The kids in particular love the space they have to run about inside and out.

75th birthday
We couldn't have asked for anything better, was surprised at how big the house was great facilities and fantastic views. Games something for everyone to do pool table tennis football and badminton. We all had a fantastic weekend.

Excellent Property
This was our 3rd stay in Morenish House and hopefully won't be our last. The property is ideal for our extended family get togethers - ample living space, loads of bedrooms and bathrooms, and great open plan living/dining area. If you're looking for a bit of peace and quiet, you can easily find a quiet corner or room where no-one will disturb you. The large back utility area is fantastic for storing numerous pairs of boots and jackets etc. The property is warm, comfortable and cozy - a place where you can really relax. The kids enjoyed the table tennis and some of them even braved a swim in the loch. Thoroughly recommend this property!

Incredible!!!
We held our intimate wedding in the garden here, with close family staying with us over a long weekend. I couldn't recommend Morenish highly enough! Beautiful house with amazing views over Loch Tay. Everywhere was lovely and clean and very well equipped. The kids really enjoyed the games rooms, exploring the grounds and utilising the lawn area for badminton, football etc, and it also made a perfect space for our wedding ceremony! Truely a perfect place for a special family get together, or for any other reason, and we will definitely be back!
