Features large sunny bedroom, full bathroom, fully-equipped kitchen, open living room and dining area, hardwood floors, dishwasher, washer/dryer in unit. Private rear patio/courtyard w/ gas grill, tables and patio furniture. One parking space in driveway, other parking available on street. Quick stroll to Shalin Liu Performing Arts Center for world-class music with splendid Sandy Bay as backdrop; historic Main Street with its many colorful art galleries; and pristine Front and Back beaches with the clearest, cleanest water in New England. For adventure, try renting a sea kayak to tour the magnificent Cape Ann coast; or jump on your mountain bike and try the trails 5 minutes away in ancient Dogtown forest.
The Location
Rockport is a microcosm of all the best features of coastal New England--pristine sandy beaches and crystal clear water; a vibrant arts scene with many working artists and a world class performing arts center; colorful galleries, shops and restaurants; and a village that has carefully preserved its many 18th and 19th century homes and buildings. It is just a five minute drive from historic Gloucester, which offers even more restaurants and attractions and one of the few remaining commercial waterfronts in New England. The area offers an endless array of activities for lovers of art, music, history and the outdoors.
Wake up and take your coffee on the private courtyard patio at the rear, stroll out the door to drop a postcard at the post office, walk a couple more blocks to Front Beach to watch terns and plovers wheel overhead as the sun rises over Sandy Bay and you gather colorful bits of 200-year old sea glass and crockery. Later, amble along Main Street to the shops and restaurants of Dock Square and Bearskin Neck and watch the lobster boats depart from Tuna Wharf for the catch you will eat later that night.
The active visitor can rent a kayak and paddle out to Thatcher Island to visit the Twin Lights, one of the few double lighthouses still in operation and a national landmark; or walk the massive granite outcroppings at Halibut Point State Park, where the sea breeze freshens even the hottest summer day. For those seeking more action, you can explore hundreds of acres of hiking and biking trails in Dogtown, the vast and rocky woodlands containing the original settlement of Gloucester from the early 1600s; surf the waves off Long Beach in Rockport or Good Harbor Beach in Gloucester, or scuba dive the rocky bays and coves along the coastline that are renowned for their clarity and accessibility.

Rockport Getaway
Location was ideal for us walking distance to Bearskin Neck shops and Front Beach. Also walking distance to Latoff Farm Stand . We will defiantly rent it again. The outdoor space was perfect for relaxing after a day on the beach and exploring the area. Best gas grill so far in my rentals

A very clean, comfortable, spacious and delightfully pleasant place to stay.
In any upcoming trip to the Cape Ann area, this would be an accommodation we would consider first on our list. Owners were a delight, and always intent to insure everything was in perfect order.

What a lovely property -- impressively furnished and appointed
We enjoyed our stay. The rugs, the books, the kitchen (from machines to dishes) were all of the highest quality and contributed to a wonderful stay. The back yard area is a bonus if you have a pet. Space feels open and gracious. Well worth the price and a place that is memorable.

An absolutely great stay in Rockport
My wife and I rented the Sea Glass House for 3 nights. The rental is in the heart of Rockport and less than a 10 minute walk to shops and restaurants. Located in a quiet neighborhood it is the whole first floor of an updated historic home. A bedroom, living room, dining area, kitchen and outside patio are included in the rental. Clean and nicely decorated with a fully stocked kitchen for self catering if you so chose. We would highly recommend this rental.

Spacious apartment in convenient location
We've been coming to Rockport for 17 years and this rental was our favorite, so far! Rooms are spacious with a large kitchen, roomy bathroom, comfortable living/dining area, and a lovely, completely enclosed patio that was perfect for our small dog. Also had an impressive collection of books! Apartment was very clean and the queen-sized bed quite comfortable. Location was just close enough to town to enjoy frequent walks to shops, restaurants, and the beach. Well-stocked with paper products (except tissues!), towels and soaps. Instructions for checking out and what to do with garbage, recyclables, key, linens, etc. would have been helpful. Definitely plan to rent this carriage house apartment again on our next visit to Rockport.

We loved our stay!
Our time at Carson's place was perfect. The house was very comfortable & had everything we needed. The town of Rockport is very much a hidden gem. One could spend a whole day there, if they wanted. However, all of the towns in & around the area were terrific & Boston is just a short train ride away. We hope to visit again soon.

Week in Rockport, MA
My family loved our stay in Rockport, MA. Rockport is a quaint little beach town. Our house on Broadway Avenue was a short walk to the ocean, which was my favorite part. The beauty there in this part of our country is positively breathtaking and we plan to return. Our landlord lived right next door to our unit we stayed in, so that was convenient due to we had a few questions /concerns with the house. So our concerns were taken care of almost immediately. Awesome Vacation. Trish S

great location and everything we were looking for - home away from home
We had a fabulous 2-week stay in Rockport! Carson and his family were extremely friendly and accommodating (including the family dog, Coco) and were available any time we needed anything. One evening at 9pm or so, one of our kids needed a pencil sharpener. We texted Carson and two of his kids immediately brought it over - it's the small things that count!
The location couldn't have been better - 2 blocks to downtown Rockport, 2 blocks to Front Beach, and 10min by foot to the commuter rail station (if you need to get into Boston). For the two weeks, it became our outpost for exploring Cape Ann (Gloucester, Manchester-by-the-Sea), the coast of north eastern Massachusetts, and even south eastern Maine (Kittery, Kennebunkport, Ogunquit). Because you're north of the city, traffic is never really an issue (except maybe on weekend mornings near the public beaches). Even on rainy/cloudy days, there is plenty to do other than the beach.
My wife and I were traveling with two young children and the apartment was more than enough space for the four of us. Plenty of closets/storage, a fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher, laundry (a huge plus on a long stay), plenty of extra linens, a great patio with grill in the back, a dining area, large living room with two comfortable couches and ample parking in the driveway (although street parking didn't look like it would have posed any issues). A friend stayed with us one night and used one of the two rollaway beds that were provided. Wifi was great too and plenty fast for Netflix, etc.
I tried to think of anything that could have been improved, but couldn't really come up with anything.
Some highlights from our trip and potential places to visit:
-Hammond Castle
-Halibut Point State Park
-Wingaersheek Beach (especially at low tide)
-Good Harbor Beach
-Singing Beach
-Gloucester Harbor Water Shuttle and Rocky Neck
-Nubble Lighthouse on Cape Neddick
-The Lobster Pool restaurant at sunset
-Chauncey Creek Lobster Pier
-Portsmouth Harbor
-Fort McClary State Park
-Rafes Chasm
-Newburyport & Plum Island

Excellent holiday home!
We had an excellent stay in this house. It is spacious, well-maintained and we felt very much welcome there. Being a family of four, with two teenagers, this house offered everybody a great holiday: it is located on walking distance form the town centre of Rockport, and its beaches. By car, it's an easy drive to Boston and other towns and cities in the area, while the location itself is quiet and easy-going, and last but not least , equipped with Wifi. It really offers value for money, and we can recommend this house to everybody
