A lovely place, we very much enjoyed our stay!

Staying at a condo in Il Faraglione is akin to being offered a brief sojourn in Eden. The location - with an uninterrupted view of the sparkling Mediterranean less than 200m away, and less than 15 minutes by foot from the center of Palau, can’t be beat. The breeze blows the smell of wild herbs in through the open doors all day and night. Roberto and Iaia are very responsive and the condo itself is very nice. The stove takes a little getting used to, there is an eclectic collection of kitchen tools, and there is no wifi to speak of (late summer 2023), but you shouldn’t be looking at your phone anyway. You are there to be outside - and you are in the perfect, literally the perfect, location for that. If you know, you know, and we can’t wait to return.

A beautiful terrace on the sea. Comfortable house nicely furnished with a beautiful patio and garden. All in order and worth the price paid.

We are a Family of 4 from Berlin and travelled with our grandma June-July 18'. All of us enjoyed a wonderful vacation in Robertos home in Palau, and fell in love with its particular quiet location, the beautiful view and the charming town of Palau, which is close by. A big thank you to Roberto and his Family for the most friendly correspondence and help - wonderful traveling tips and your fullhearted welcoming!
We felt right at home in their condo, which is excactly a described. Charming, with a beautiful garden in the back and a stunning terasse overlooking the georgeous bay of Palau. From beakfast to dinner - for these meals there is always one shady spot in eighter corner, since the terrace has the most perfect position to the sun, its rays lingering very long until sundown behind Porto Rafael! On clear days you can even see Corisca from this spot.
The condo is perfect size for vacation, with a clever use of room, where even 3 adults and 2 kids have quite some space for quiet retreat. We cooked almost everyday and the kitchen offers everything you need. Shopping nearby, five minutes drive with rental car.
Out of the gate in the back it is a cats jump to the beach right infront of the terasse. For the most part it was pretty quiet and some days we even had it all to ourselfs - in June! Since Palau offers plenty of ways into the water, non of the local beaches - not even the larger ones ever felt crowded, might be different in August, though. We enjoyed this easing calm very much but also went on great trips to many cool places in the northern part of Sardinia, which is just absolutely stunning with its rock formations and the blooming Oleander.
The way into Palau is just as described in prior posts. It is a town which seemed to us quite bubbly near the harbor, but also not overy touristy - providing an overall feel of honest Sardinian town. We really enjoyed bar life amongst locals - the daily night -market and plenty of live Music in the town square - which was awesome, also for kids.
Overall, we are very much in love with Il Faraglione 2c, the area, the sardinian neighbors and Palau! And can't wait to visit again!

The house (a lovely flat in a semi detached part of italian tipical villas) is well kept and renovated. All the guest this season appreciated the terrace and the beach very near. Useful to use both the garden and the front terraces, depending on the wind. With strong wind, ideal to go sailing to Isola dei Gabbiani and come back for a quiet evening.

A few steps from the sea, the flat has a balcony on the front with marvellous view of the islands of the Maddalena archipelago, and a small garden on the back. Perfect for a relaxing holiday in Sardinia

we hadnt been abroad for 10 years and have a young child who is disabled so were anxious, but robertos family put as at total ease prior to going and during our stay. Nothing was too much trouble and their family who were staying near by was so lovely and kind - the apartment was perfect for us, It is simply and lovely rustically furnished with everything you need to cook large family meals. (tip if you arrive late afternoon early eve and dont want to cook there is a small camp site within a 5 minute walk that do fantastic inexpensive pizzas!! The apartment has easy parking and is very near to a town (either a 15 min beautiful gentle sea view stroll in, or a 10 min walk direct into palau or a 2 minute drive) which has a fantastic childrens park, lovely ice cream shops and pretty evening market. if you want to stay in a place that is peaceful with sea views and within walking distance to the sea, somewhere cool in the day to sit outside to eat at lunchtime(in the garden) but somewhere sunny to sit to either sun bathe in the day or sit in the evening with your evening meal and a glass of wine and watch the beautiful sun sets and listen to the gentle lapping waves and watch the fishing boats sail past(on the balcony) then this is the place for you!! we visited approx 10 different sandy beaches during our stay all beautiful and all different (our favourite was the smallest - v tiny beach only room for a couple of families but was like swimming in your own private and v beautiful sea pool (calla martinella)!! we also liked spiaggia de nelson and rafael and spiaggia serena - its worth getting a beach map!) there is a choice of large supermarkets within a 5 min drive - or a smaller one within a 10 minute walk. In palau there are lots of available boat excursions. we took the ferry to Maddalena and we went on a small boat excursion around the beautiful islands you can see from the balcony - one of our favourite days! (recommend the smaller boats as more personal and relaxing (only 10 people on our trip - perfect had lots of laughter that day!). You can even rent your own little motor boat and do your own tour of the different beaches!!
I dont think you will get a better sea view - we arrived in the dark and I cant tell you the joy of opening the balcony shutters to see that sea view with nothing but a couple of hundred yards between us and it - pure bliss and yet knowing there is everything you or the children need within a short stroll in palau.
We also briefly explored the popular costa smeralda coastline but we thought it was much busier that side and more populated beaches (and we were there in June just prior to the july busy time on sardinia!)
We loved palau - it had everything for a family without being overly touristy and my children had chance to learn some italian.
In conclusion:
Fantastic apartment/villa, perfect location, lovely owners and beautiful area!!!
