Lamentablemente, peor experiencia en Perú

El precio era apropiado, y el baño grande. La zona de las callecitas que dan a la plaza de Ollantaytambo donde está situado es muy bonita. Nos guardaron las maletas durante la noche que fuimos a Machu Picchu.

No recomendaríamos este lugar si lo que se quiere es tener un trato cercano y que te ayuden a conocer el lugar, ya que, lamentablemente, fue la peor experiencia de nuestro viaje a Perú en ese sentido, puesto que en el resto de alojamientos las personas nos ayudaron muchísimo! Además, tras pasar una sola noche, al día siguiente teníamos múltiples picaduras en el cuerpo. En cuanto al desayuno, pedimos tenerlo preparado 30' antes de la hora fijada para ir a ver el yacimiento, y pese a que nos dijeron que sí, llegado el momento no había nada preparado, tuvieron que ir a comprarlo a la tienda incluso, y tuvimos que irnos sin poder tomar el 100% del desayuno, ya que nos ofrecieron huevo y zumo, pero con la demora se nos hacía muy tarde. Otra molestia fue que el gallo del vecino es un despertador excepcional si lo que necesitas es comenzar el dia a las 04 AM. Y por último, habíamos reservado otra noche tras ir a Machu Picchu pero la cancelamos finalmente, con lo que Booking debió gestionar la cancelación con ellos, y al ir a recoger las maletas nos hicieron pagarla in situ de todos modos, cosa que no pudimos negociar demasiado debido a la prisa que teníamos. Es una pena pero fue la peor experiencia de nuestro viaje a Perú, sin duda.

Pleasant

A simple place with friendly owner. They had some issues with hot water when I was there but they were resolved by the morning. This is quite a basic b&b, but I liked it and would go back.

Good location, comfy rooms, nice views

Clean and comfy room, big bathroom. The breakfast was good with fresh coca & muña tea. The staff is really friendly, we were allowed to stay 1 hour longer and wait for our train. The Hostal is located in a quiet and cute part of Ollanta with good restaurants nearby (2-5min walking distance). At breakfast, you could see some hummingbirds fly around the garden.

Nice views. Big room. Comfortable beds. Nice host. Good laundry service.

Unreliable shower; temperature changes, sometimes cold. No hair dryer. Rooms can also be a bit cold.

lovely family with sweet pets. we felt very welcome

as our room was opposite the family's tv we didn't have our usual early nights. should not be a problem if you go to bed at 10.30!

No Recommendation!

Clean is the only advantage of this hostel.

No heater, if you want to use heater, pay extra. Wash clothes isn't allowed even socks, if you want to wash, pay exta. The hotel won't tell these information in advance till you arrive at the hostel. The price showed on booking is only for cash. No chair and table in the room, if you want to sit, sit on the bed. You can only have one glimpse of Ollantaytambo ruin from the rooftop, not from your room, as the location of the hostel is almost at the end of the village, the sight is blocked by many buildings.

Friendly family running the hostel. Early breakfast starting at 6am. Wifi is good on first floor. Nice, quite location close to main square. Cute patio to relax.

Wifi on upper floor is very slow. Twin room is rather small. Unfortunately there is no hot water. The water switches between luke-warm and cold, sometimes a few seconds conveniently warm. When we complained the daughter checked our shower and told us it was normal. Rooms are not cleaned everyday. Toilet paper in room is not standard. If you ask for it, it is provided, so no big issue, but just not very welcoming. There is a really nice rooftop terrace, but it is just a bare area with one seat, so a missed opportunity as with little effort the family could make it a great area with nice views.

location and experience to live amongst locals was priceless.

Breakfast was meager and had specific times of service to which we were not informed. As a result, we missed breakfast on the day of our departure and lodge was not willing to provide us hot water for tea or even for the hot cereal we brought for our children.

Lovely and relaxing stay

Very comfy bed, great view, clean, family was very friendly and I loved the small yard and the animals (cats, a dog and a small chick). Bonus point: they prepared me a lunch box to take with me because 1 day I had to leave early in the morning and I missed breakfast.

It can get cold at night and there is no heating. Also, sometimes i was woken up early by the other people cause you can easily hear every movement. Finally, there is no hairdryer.

It’s a small guest house, not a lodge. The family that owns it, rents out 3-4 rooms to tourists. The patio where guests have breakfast is actually their living room. If your day rhythm corresponds with daily routines of the host family - you are in luck. Unfortunately, ours didn’t.

The bed was really hard, and quite small for two people. There were no toiletries in a bathroom, which was OK - you can buy them in a village, but we think that a bar of soap is a necessity at these times. There was no hot water - one has to wait for 7-10 min to get water above body temperature, but that’s such a waste of water.

Great little hotelito 5 blocks from the center. Clean and the beds were very comfortable. Staff are a family and they are very helpful! Excellent price for the stay and breakfast was great! I am a solo, female traveler and I felt very safe.
