Very nice restaurant but for dinner only. The small bar in the restaurant had nice atmosphere. It's an old New England hotel, but it is kept up well, and clean. Not fancy but simple and comfortable.
The breakfast was pretty weak, but the Keurig coffee was strong. It was just some pastries, pretty tastless. Don't plan on staying out late, the few restaurants and shops close about 9:30.

Friendly, accomodating staff is much appreciated.
The bed was hard and small.

Having not stayed in New London, I was not familiar with the hotel and it’s past; it was attractive from the outside and the entrance.
Beyond the entrance way, the rooms for myself, my wife and my friends, would not have been disappointing if we were staying in a Motel 6 at $70 a night and expecting meager facilities and atmosphere. But the hotel, wile supposedly gong back to 1791 has not be upgraded since 1891.
But knowing all the misgivings, if the price had been appropriate to these shortcomings, it would be understandable. But we paid Ritz prices for the low end hotel’s hotel amenities.
Among other issues, the dining room was closed for the nights we were there.
You will be sorry to find your model for the hotel industry will fail and quickly,

Very friendly staff, and the location is quite ideal for being within walking distance of a few dining locations in the area. Also easy to get to other local restaurants and other places, all within easy driving distance.
Do note that this is an old building, and so any room numbers that start with 2 or 3 also note the walk-up floor your room will be on. Evidently there were breakfast options at one time, but now there is a k-cup coffee maker available and individually wrapped pastries (though I would highly recommend the Blue Loon bakery nearby, but it's not open every day). As it's an old building, expect the floors and stairs to show that age. And the restaurant is evidently quite popular. We weren't able to get a table during our stay, but we were able to hear a lot of door-slamming from our room.

No breakfast, found out after we booked. Friendly staff, cookies and nice amenities. Very quaint inn.
Room was on first floor, didn’t leave window open on warm night. While quaint, the bed/mattress very squeaky, hard to move in the night without disturbing partner.

Lots of beautiful character and well maintained, they had a great facilities the were unfortunately not open.
Due to the age of the building the room was loud and for the facilities and were all closed, and they are no longer serving breakfast.
The room Price was way too expensive without the full property being open and functional .

Charming, historic, and comfortable. I stayed with my 2 year old and we both slept so well!

Well appointed, comfortable inn with great touches. Fantastic mattress, warm and inviting common areas. Very good restaurant. Carpet was dated, but it should be in a 230 year old inn. Can't believe people have commented on this.
Shower lacked common safety precautions, heating hissed a bit when it came on. Nothing major.

grab and go muffins, nothing special, Keuring coffee maker in the lobby was fine
Rooms are definately dated, at over $200 per night the rooms could be a little nicer

I was double-charged for a one-night stay through booking, called the property twice. Each time the receptionist was going to talk to the manager, who never called back. After 10 days the invalid charge has yet to be reversed.

Location, availability.
Over priced for the quality of the place. No free breakfast despite what was advertised. Internet is slow and poor
