Awesome location. Has the coastal feel of this beautiful part of the California coast and provides a private clean place to chill and relax.

This is a well equipped home in a great location for hiking and beach walks. We had a wonderful time and hope to visit again.

Had a great stay and would definitely book again!!
My only feedback would be that, while the hot tub is private, the backyard is shared with the cottage next door. That wasn’t clear to me in the photos/descriptions.
The house kitchen/bathrooms were stocked with everything we needed. The only thing missing that I would have liked to have was some decent cutting boards.

Many pros to our stay…Large picture windows in living and dining rms with lovely ocean view. The well stocked kitchen was appreciated. Enough chairs for everyone around the dining room table. Large shower in front bathroom very nice. Loved the hot tub on the back deck.
Cons…fireplace is the main sort of heat but just a very few sticks of kindling to start fire. First morning my husband had to chop more kindling in overgrown backyard. Hauled Lg pieces of wood from this area. A short time later he felt an irritation in lower abdomen area and discovered a tick burrowing. A better supply of kindling to start and a supply of additional kindling and wood at end of deck would keep guests out of overgrowth and tick area. Couch bed in Living Room is more suitable for young children than 1-2 adults.
Closet in front bedroom not available so hooks on outside of closet door and back of bedroom door would be nice. One hook in bathroom is not adequate. Three windows in frt bedroom with patterned curtains that are see through at night with lights on. Only front window has a shade. Even if lower half of windows were frosted as bathroom window is there would be more privacy.

This cottage, perched just over Hiway 1 from the Pacific Ocean herself, this is the mythical get away we dream about. Two ensuite bedrooms, and then a convivial living space -- living room with wood-burning fire box, dining room -- where all can gather while meals are being prepared in a very well equipped kitchen. Great place.. if you can get to it through the abundant and glorious cala lilies that flourish lol.

We liked the layout of the home, but were disappointed that we were unable to use the hot tub (it was supposed to be fixed the day before we arrived) and the grounds could use a little TLC. It would have been nice if there was a table umbrella on the patio. We were unable to check in at 4 pm because the housekeeper was still cleaning it. Aside, from all that, we did enjoy our stay and love the area.

We had a wonderful time at this house in Albion. It is really well kept, very clean inside, and has a nice outside space. The hot tub with an ocean view is great. The kitchen is newer and spacious, great for cooking for a couple (which we were) but would also be excellent for a group/family. It's a quiet neighborhood, and although there is a little noise from Hwy 1 it felt cozy and private. It's an easy drive to a lot of great spots along the coast, and right next to the Albion river. Check in was straightforward and simple.
Vacasa manages this property and we received several ready-made texts from them about our experiences (check in, cleanliness, check out, etc), but no response to the messages we sent through VRBO - not an issue, just a little impersonal.
Overall this was a good experience and we would stay here again.

Our stay at Albion Ocean House was an experience to say the least. The home is beautiful and well equipped. The views are stunning. But we had the misfortune of being caught in a “bomb cyclone”. Nobody’s fault, just bad timing. We lost power and water in the storm. Again, nobody’s fault. But the local Vacasa staff stepped up. They understood our dilemma and refunded us for the time without utilities. Amazing!! We will definitely be coming back to Albion Ocean House (in better weather)!

The home was very clean and well stocked. There was a toaster oven, microwave, and coffeemaker as well as standard kitchen supplies. The home functions well as two separate primary bedrooms, with each having a full bathroom. The bed in the primary room with the bathtub could be replaced as it was a bit soft. The home felt so much more spacious that we expected and had big windows of the ocean views in the living room, dining room, and one of the primary rooms. The hot tub was just a couple of steps out the back door. There was a somewhat funny smell from the water in the hot tub. Although the tv was mounted in the dining room, it had the ability to be turned so that it could be seen by anyone sitting in the living room. The wifi worked well and we were able to use wifi calling with ease while at the home.
Overall, we really enjoyed staying at this home and would return in the future.

My husband and I enjoyed our stay at Albion Ocean House. Only issue was that a big storm came through the area and we were without power for most of Saturday. Since the pump for water was also electric, we were without water as well. It may be good to place a backup generator for instances of this type.

Perfect Mendocino Coast Getaway
We liked everything about this home, from the mass of pink rhododendrons welcoming us at the front gate to the modern and well-stocked kitchen, to the dining table perfect for card games and family-style meals, to the 2 en-suite bedrooms with baths at opposite ends of the house. We slept so well here! The house is across the street from a great restaurant and you can walk down to the Albion River and rent a kayak. We hosted my elderly parents here and we all loved it.

Peaceful and very comfortable
The house is larger than I'd guessed. Rooms are well appointed and kitchen is wonderful. All the cooking amenities we needed. It was quiet in this neighborhood. Loved all the flowers around the property and the scents of eucalyptus and ocean were a bonus.

Spent hours driving to Mendocino 6mi to get service to reach out to Vacasa The front door didn’t lock and the internet connection information was wrong. 3days to get service, our friends has to leave early because they couldn’t work with out the internet. The last night a stranger enter’s the house while we were at dinner left the door open with our dog inside and the house is on Hwy 1. They left a iPad on the kitchen counter , when we called t property manager they had no idea who was there!! Service from the Local Manager was terrible and we were only offered $75 compensation . We are going to challenge the fee with our credit card company

Albion Beach house
There were SOOOO many xtra fees on this house. I almost cancelled the booking when the total came up, but was happy to get a place with a hot tub. When you get to the property the instructions for the hut tub are strict and snarky. It consistently says take a shower and be clean before you get in because, “it’s a hot tub and not a bath tub”. I checked the hot tub after we put our bags down. The check in is 4pm and is very late as you have to be out by 10 am. The hot tub was DISGUSTING and a health hazard. The water was green, there was a brown ring around the tub and there was a lot of pubic hair in it. I have pictures and will happily submit them. I called right away and asked that it be drained and the fees waived. No one showed up until the next day while we were out and (they said they would call before hand) and drained the tub. They did not waive the fees and we were still unable to use the hot tub because it takes a long time for the water to heat up, because “its a hot tub, not a bath tub”.
The house has a horrible ant problem and even though I found ant spray under the sink they were relentless. After throwing out cereal, bread, crackers and chips I finally gave up and put all of are food in the fridge and washed every dish before we used it.
If you are going to use the bed part of the sofa bed make sure to only have a child sleep on it. Super uncomfortable. Overall I have never been this irritated with a vacation rental. And I don’t recommend staying at this one.

Restful peaceful respite
This spacious home is lovely with great hot hot tub, ocean views, full kitchen, central heat and wood burning fireplace. A great place to stay, cook, read a book and relax! And only 5 miles to downtown Mendocino. Even if it's gray outside it is still beautiful.
Only "downside" (none of which are major!) is the house doesn't come with descriptions of how to use things which would have been useful - coffee maker, toaster, washer-dryer, tv (we could find no regular broadcast stations). If staying longer than a weekend there was no way to know how to maintain the hot tub (we called and they came out). And, the internet worked fine (we were told it may not). But there is no cell reception (we have AT&T) and no landline. We figured out we needed to turn "wi-fi calling on" under settings/phone/Wi-Fi calling. That way we could make and receive cell phone calls over the internet at this property. But these are minor compared to how lovely the house is overall!

Super Location
Three of us, a couple and a good friend, enjoyed Albion to visit wineries, enjoy amazing coastal views, redwoods, lovely small towns and great restaurants. The area did not disappoint! The house was a good place to relax in the evening to share our wine purchases on the deck or in the living room. We would have enjoyed the house even more if the back bedroom mattress was newer and the pots and pans were not damaged making it challenging to cook a meal. Super location with a view!

Great coastal getaway!
The place was perfect for our getaway in the Mendocino area! Everything we could have needed was there for us and the outdoor space was excellent. The location was convenient to many different areas of interest. Would definitely stay here again on a future trip!

Weekend Stay in Cozy Albion Cottage
Property was clean and cozy. We enjoyed sitting out on the patio looking at the ocean and smelling the sea air. House was spacious, and bathrooms and kitchen were large and remodeled. Kitchen was well stocked. Hot tub was clean and while small it was perfect size for two. Only complaint was there were no linens for sofa bed besides the mattress cover. Also the doorknob to back bathroom was broken and in need of repair. We stayed Friday- Sunday in August 2021, took a few trips into Mendocino which was a beautiful, scenic drive, but wish we were closer.

Lovely and Quaint!
This house is one of the nicest we've rented in that it is quaint, charming, updated enough, roomy and full of natural light. Location is excellent for exploring Mendo coast.
What would make for a better stay is the following;
• decent pots and pans for cooking, provided cookware is old, scratched and unhealthy for use,
• bakeware as in roasting pan and cookie sheets,
• back master suite bed is VERY soft, a firmer mattress would be more comfortable,
• extra pillows,
• house was overall clean but there was still plenty of dust on furniture,
• garden needs maintenance.
None the less we had a wonderful stay and would definitely rent this house again!! THANK YOU!!
