Great property in a great location. Room for everyone and great water access. Celebrated 40th birthday party with about 24 people. Check in and out was easy.
10.0 / 10.0
The outstanding features of this property are the dock and the lake. The dock is extremely well-equipped and, together with the wonderful, clean, clear lake water, kept both adults and kids in our group entertained for days. The house itself is set up for a large group, which we were. The house has a "cabin-ey" feel, and is adequately provisioned for a large group. We particularly appreciated the stairways to the dock, as the terrain is so steep that going up and down would have been really difficult without them. The part of Norris Lake the house is on is a backwater, so there was not a lot of boat traffic, which was a plus. All in all, we had a great family vacation at Dock Holiday.

We really enjoyed our stay and most everything was as we expected it to be. There was a couple of surprises and disappointments. The dishwasher was broken when we arrived and the heating element on the clothes dryer went and stopped drying our clothes

Enjoyable, relaxing and memorable; particularly the dock with its slide, trampoline, water pad and paddle boards that were available and the "np wake" zone to enjoy the water.

Our family of 20 enjoyed ourselves at Dock Holiday. The cleaning crew was one hour late getting finished, but we soon got settled in. The new dock is where we spent most of our time. The 5 flights of steps are not bad going to the dock, but a little challenge going back to the house. The pool was green our entire visit, and the hot tub did not work, but a repair man did fix the hot tub. The pictures online are accurate. Hope you have as much fun as we did.

We noted and loved the large dock, the no back support kayak, the water trampoline, the water mat, the 2 working paddle boards, the high slide, and then the pontoon we rented for three days made this extremely fun for ages 8-72. We were comfortable in the hom with space, beds and ability to set the thermostat.
The property location is excellent in a no wake zone most people obeyed.
It’s time to fix a bunch of little irritations.
The house needs a handyman’s care: shower faucet handle was loose in the Jack and Jill bathroom on the second floor, door knobs were loose throughout the rooms and difficult to keep shut, one dining room chair is unsafe with a loose leg, two rollers are missing on dishwasher top level shelf making it a struggle to use the top shelf, moldy shower curtain in lower level bathroom, laundry doors make it difficult to do laundry (suggest bi-fold doors), more dehumidifiers are needed, bedroom with laundry machine gets way too warm to sleep in IF anyone does laundry during the day, outside decks and stairs need cleaning, and the dryer needs investigating, for 90 to 120 minutes did not dry towels on high.

We loved the private dock and had a blast in the lake. The home needs some TLC. The dishwasher rack is broken, the dryer took 2-3 cycles to dry one load, the dock lights were broken as were the stair lights going down, also the hot tub was broken.

The dock was amazing. House amazing. Had a great time on the lake

We had an amazing stay! I’ve stayed at numerous rental properties and this was by far the best one. Communication was top notch, clean house, and had everything you could need to enjoy the dock! Our group of 20 fit very comfortably and even had extra space.

Spread over 4 states (the ones that were able to join us), the Meyer family gathered at your lovely cottage; we wanted somewhere to gather together for a few days, and just relax. This was just the ticket. We picked it because, although there are stairs inside and out (very common in the Smokies of TN), they were well broken up with platform "rest areas" for those of use not in as good shape as the kids are. I was pleasantly surprised they were much easier to handle than I thought. Even my Father-in-law, in his 70s, made the trip down and up.
We had so much fun kayaking (it was easy to drop them at the boat ramp and kayak them to the dock, then back again at the end of our stay), swimming and fishing (My brother-in-law insists the fish here are prejudiced against out-of-staters! LOL), and just relaxing, along with some thrift shopping in town, golfing and seeing some sights. And quite a few rousing rounds of pool were played in the evenings, as well as board games.
The hot tub was out of commission, but we did not miss it, and the family gave us a refund because it was waiting for a part to be fixed. Had the weather been cool, we might have missed it, but we had 3 lovely sunny days to swim and relax.
I hope we get a chance to come back again! Thanks again!
Lisa Busch-Meyer and the Meyer family.

Friends from 8 different states have a little tradition of getting together in Norris Lake and with the friend group growing, we needed a bigger space and we got just that and more in this house. Everyone had their own bed, the main floor had plenty of room for us to play games and eat together, and the two floor lake deck gave us room to be together and have fun. Just when we thought we hit the jackpot, the host family reached out to say the hot tub was under repair and refunded us some money for the inconvenience, which was unexpected and very generous. Our group will definitely come back!!

Not bad

We had a great time. There were a few issues though. Most of the lights on the back of the house were burnt out so we really could not take advantage of the Hot Tub. The host did tell us where the light bulbs were located but we would have needed a ladder to replace. One of the shelves inside of the refrigerator was broken, and the pool table was not useable, it had a tear or break in it is we couldn’t play. I recommend putting some chairs down by the fire pit. The weather was perfect for a fire.
Even with these issues, we had an amazing time. The view was spectacular! We MIGHT try this place again in the future.

Right there thinking that we could do it some fishing but we were stuck on the top floor because each of us are 60 or better we can go up and down those stairs same as the house too many stairs

This was our annual family getaway with our kids and grands. We enjoyed our togetherness and the lake. We were disappointed that the fridge spoiled our dairy products the first night, and one of the drawers to the fridge was busted. It was extremely hot throughout the house. Although management did provide a code to the thermostat upon request. It should've been provided and not need request. The property had beer cans and trash all down to the lake. We picked up several ourselves. The pool table was trash. The pictures showed a fire pit with chairs, which was a pit that didn't light and one single chair. The grill wouldn't light and the knobs were broke. The paddleboards were deflated, but we did find a hand pump to help with those. The kayak seat was broken. On the surface, the house appeared clean. However, don't look under furniture. Trash and food was found under all living room furniture. Overall we found poor maintenance of this property. And don't even get me started on the lack of parking. A 8 bedroom house, should definitely have room for more than two vehicles. It was a huge inconvenience having to drive each other back and forth to get the vehicles. We will definitely return to Norris, every chance we get. However, this property will not be on our list to stay at.

House was very nice, a kids playground down at the water. We loved the dock area, plenty of toys to entertain ourselves. Terribly disappointed in the hot tub, it's not the one pictured in listing. The current hot tub is tiny, comfortably fits 4 adults. We had 8 adults who really wanted to relax and enjoy themselves in the evenings together, but only 4 at a time could fit in it comfortably! We nicknamed it the "Little Tykes" hot tub. Definitely disappointed in that aspect. Other than that, we had a nice stay.

The property/stay was fine. It was nothing spectacular but it got the job done. The house is very big which is nice and lots of beds! The whole house could use some TLC though. Nothing major, just a bunch of little things. Biggest thing for us was the pool table was falling apart and thats where we spent most of our time, nearly all of the door handles could use tightened, a lot of the doors needed lifted to close all the way, all of the decks could use a better cleaning/clearing of all the debris, a few dining chairs had loose legs, the trampoline in the listing picture was not available and the community pool was unusable (water was dark green/black). Overall it is a good property but it does need some work to become great! The owner was very responsive though and helped when we reached out.

This was our first family vacation ever and we decided on this lovely home as it was secluded from everything and sat on the water. From the moment we arrived we enjoyed the stay, we had a total of 17 guests and we had more than enough room for everyone to sleep comfortably. Kitchen was well stocked with everything you would ever need to cook. The only downside to the stay was the internet connection, but then again you are in the mountains and was not a bother at all since the wifi provided worked the whole time once we reset the router. I would give it a solid 8/10 due to the roads to get to it aren't the best or safest. If you don't mind the drive to get there it will be a lovely home to spend your vacation in!

Our family really enjoyed this 4 level home by the lake. Lots of bedrooms and beds, all kitchen appliances in working order, comfortable environment. Drawbacks are the size of the food prep area and the number of showers. Otherwise it was very good rental.

Hello, we had a magnificent time. Everything was there we needed. Thank you for such a perfect time that was our first lake trip 💙

Overall good experience. Easily accommodated large family group. Few issues not worth mentioning but be ready for lots of stairs. Toys at the dock were a nice feature and well used. Boat ramp very steep and not a lot of room. Difficult to maneuver and put in 24 ft wake boat. Smaller boats wouldn’t be much problem. All things considered we had a great 4 days with very few issues.

The house was absolutely beautiful!!
The lake had very few fish. Water was beautiful but very little wildlife, we enjoy nature. There were very few birds to see and hear also.
There is very little in the way of toursit entertainment.
We felt relaxed and refreshed after our week at the lake.

Best Family Vacation EVER!!
This property did not disappoint! The house was absolutely perfect for our large group of 15 adults and 5 kids. Everyone had a bed, plenty of lounge space, kitchen equipped to feed large groups. The best part was the outside! The dock was so much fun! The water was warm and clean. We literally lived outside all day, every day. Swimming, jumping off the dock, floating on paddle boards and kayaks, using the slide over and over! We truly had the best time ever. Thank you for sharing your fun summer home with us. The memories our family made there are priceless!

Great place to see family
We had a great vacation at this cabin! We stayed over Thanksgiving so we did not get to enjoy the water activities, but it was a great place for family members to gather and relax together. We all would love to come again! The host responded quickly to all of our questions, which was very nice! I would love to come back again during the summer time!

A great rental home with a few minor hiccups
Our group of 18 had plenty of space. The sleeps 24 number seems accurate, maybe even slightly conservative if some members of your group don’t mind sleeping on couches. The house is in good condition and in a nice location on the lane. The dock area with kayaks and paddle boards was fantastic for the kids. We only had a few minor issues. When we arrived the outside trash bins hadn’t been emptied so we just had to pile up garbage during our stay. The refrigerator is also in the process of failing and was constantly leaking water onto the kitchen floor. Aside from those two fairly minor issues we had a great time and would stay again!

Great House for Large Groups
The house was great! Amazing dock space for us to bring a boat and also rent a boat. Had kayaks and paddleboards available. Fun, quiet cove and rope swing near by! Close to jumping bridge and a marina for boat gas. Also super close to boat ramp. Large dining room table for big meals. Nice table outside for adult meals. Tons of bedrooms. Kitchen was well equipped.
Things to approve on:
Disappointed that the water trampoline was broken
New hot tub hadn’t arrived but appreciated the temporary Coleman blow up hot tub, just wasn’t very big
No felt tips on the pool sticks
Wish the house provided more soap
Lots of stairs in the house and down to the dock
Was surprised community pool didn’t have any tables or chairs
Only one fridge. Wasn’t enough space for our large group. Also there were no fridge shelves which reduced the space more.
I’d also recommend more of a commercial ice maker instead of a small one. We were buying ice daily to fill coolers for drinks and extra food that didn’t fit in the fridge

Great cabin but lacked the advertised hot tub.
Cabin was great for the 17 of us. The dock would have been perfect if not for the weather but would love to come back and try again. Plenty of toys and fun to be had for the holiday weekend. One thing was extremely disappointing was the hot tub was not there. You pick a specific cabin for the amenities so not having one when you were expecting it was disappointing. You spend alot of money to rent and want it to have everything it advertises. It would have been great for the cold weekend. No communication of it not having one was made to us as well. Otherwise cabin was excellent and everyone had fun.

Family vacation
The cabin was great, clean and big enough for everyone to be comfortable. The dock was perfect for the whole family to have fun. Only problem was there is no hot tub and the pool table slate isn’t level. And the pool was covered, but I assume it was still a lil early in the season. With that being said I would definitely stay again and recommend it to anyone. Thanks to the owners for making check in very easy.

Very nice place, nice owners. All went well with our stay definitely recommend to all that are considering this place lots to do in the water.

would stay again
The owner let us know a week before our arrival that the hot tub broke and the new one wouldn't be delivered in time for our stay, so they refunded us a portion of our payment. We would have been really upset if we discovered this after arrival, so big thanks to the owner who demonstrated foresight and flexibility - hard to find in rental properties these days.

Great Place
This was my first trip to TN and I could not have asked for a better place. The house was amazing. The owners were great whenever we had a question. Would definitely go back.
