Excellent for access to Lake District!

A fantastic B&B! My partner and I used it as a base for our trip into the Lake District and it was exactly what we needed! Comfortable beds, amazing breakfast, and only 20-30 minutes away from lots of walks. Rob and Di were exceptional and couldn’t do enough to help us.

Great B&B

Well situated for what I needed. Very friendly, helpful and welcoming hosts. B&B was comfortable, clean, quiet, and great breakfast. Parking opposite was a bonus. The fridge and coffee machine in room and ability to use microwave downstairs could be really useful, although I didn't need it this time. Appreciated fair trade tea, coffee and sugar and proper milk in room.

If you ever needed a reason to visit Workington, this is it.

Okay, so Workington isn't on everyone's bucket list of places to spend their valuable holiday time. But if you do find yourself pitching up there I think you'll be hard-pressed to find a friendlier, more stylish guesthouse than this one. The hosts were that perfect blend of being welcoming without being imposing. Their knowledge of the area was helpful and they kept tabs on whether I had everything I needed. The house itself is a magnificent Georgian townhouse, positioned quite unexpectedly close to the main shopping area of the town. The free parking was just across the road. The breakfast was generous and delicious. Sausage and bacon sourced locally and cooked perfectly - the bacon trimmed of its fat which, for me, is a rare find. Free range eggs, mushrooms, beans, roasted cherry tomatoes and plenty of toast (black pudding too, if you like that sort of thing). To wash it down there was a cafetière of very decent coffee and orange juice. That was more than enough for me but I could have had cereal, yoghurt, fresh fruit salad and other bits and pieces. They don't provide evening meals - and why would they? It's a B&B - but they did set a place in the dining room so I could bring back a take-away. I can't praise this place highly enough. If you want to visit the lakes but don't want to pay Lake District prices, I don't think you'll find a better B&B.

Friendly Cumbrian welcome

Rob and Di, owners, were welcoming and friendly and assisted us finding our way through Workington's one way street system. Ensured we had a car park space on arrival. Discretionary early check-in as room was ready when we arrived in Workington. Tastefully decorated room with muted colour scheme. . The breakfast was exceptionally tasty using supplies of a local butcher. But also on offer were fruit, cereals and yoghurt. We were offered a parking disc as it is useful for local parking (free of charge for time as advised at various locations). Osborne House is perfect as within walking distance to town centre and local leisure facilities. Free WiFi, smart TV, hair dryer, toiletries offered, fresh towels offered.

Fabulous little Gem of a B&B.

This B&B is superb, ran by a very charming couple. Very clean with exceptional clean crisp bed linen and fine china crockery at breakfast. A really treat! Wonderful locally sourced ingredients available at breakfast. Superbly cooked and served. Good range of breakfast offered in a very charming graceful breakfast room. Beautiful building with tasteful Care and decor. Many thanks for a wonderful stay. Will certainly return and recommend.

Little georgian gem in Workington.

Absolutely charming hostess. Happy to layout table for a takeaway. Crystal glasses for our wine. Suitably sympathetic to me needing to endure football on TV. Good recommendations for food. Perfect sleep for two nights. Fabulouse georgian shutters blocking out the light and comfy bed. Really quiet.

wouls have preferred door rather than curtain on the ensuite.

A hidden gem - thoroughly recommended for a comfortable and happy stay.

We received a very warm welcome from Rob an Di, our wonderful hosts, you got the impression nothing at all was too much trouble. Our room was beautiful with lots of little extras which made all the difference to our stay. The breakfast was exceptional, all locally resourced food and cooked to perfection. We just wish our stay could have been longer and we will certainly be back.

An exceptional stay in a beautiful building. Fabulous hosts.

Fabulous, can’t fault it!

This is such a lovely place to stay, it’s central but quiet and has parking! The room is clean and comfortable with everything you need. The breakfast is outstanding as well so overall really good value for money! Thanks again for having me!
