The stand out at this hotel was the hospitality. The staff were wonderful. We had an issue with the first room we were in, and they were immediately apologetic and offered to upgrade us to a different room. They even offered us a free breakfast both days. They went above and beyond to help us and we truly appreciated it. We also loved just walking around and exploring the grand rooms of the villa. We had the entire place to ourselves- it was almost eerily deserted. The artwork on the ceilings and the architectural details were absolutely breathtaking- as beautiful as any artwork in the museums all over Italy.
The first room we stayed in was not the most comfortable. It was very "bare bones" and felt more like a hostel. The issue we had was that the shower would not drain and the water had a brown tinge. This was the issue that was immediately remedied by the wonderful staff. Some of this is to be expected with such an old property but if you decide to stay, definitely pay a bit more for a "tower room".

It is more a castle then a hotel. Staff was very helpfull and polite. We even got a free tour through the castle. We got a upgrade and had a unique great room. The only thing to improve is the breakfast. We will come again
The breakfast would be even for Italians very simple but everything else was great
