About this villa rental

The family home is located at the end of a private road and is surrounded by a large garden. From the terrace you have a beautiful panoramic view over the lake, with the island Isola Madre and the snow top mountains in the back. Every sunset is a magic moment.

The house is ideal for one or two families with children. 3 bedrooms with double beds and one room with bunkbeds. Baby bed is available as well. Maximum is 6 adults and 2 children. (+baby)
The kitchen is fully equipped, gas stove and dish washer, coffee machine. Two bath rooms, dining room with table for 8+, living room with open fire place, TV and unlimited Wifi.

Via 200 stairs you have access to a private beach shared with five houses.
Garage with washing machine and dryer, table tennis, car parking.

Bar and restaurant are in 10min walking distance in Reno. For shopping you need to drive 3km to Leggiunio (bakery, vegetables) or 7km to Laveno (supermarkets and shops), a vehicle is mandatory. Space for 3 vehicles.

The photos don’t do this place justice! An absolutely wonderful family vacation home on the best part of Lake Maggiore with glorious sunset views and a shady private beach surrounded by hydrangeas. Our children loved the toys, sandbox and trampoline, while the adults were mesmerized by the spectacular vistas of the lake and snowcapped mountains surrounding it. I can’t imagine a better place to stay in the region.

We loved our stay at this property in Leggiuno! Henri communicated with us every step of the way, and the house came just as advertised. It is such a lovely location, on a hill overlooking Lago Maggiore, we just really enjoying relaxing on the verandah with our vino while watching the sunset each evening! The historic villa is roomy, pristine, is close to other villages, as well as the Ferry which can get you to the Borromean Islands. It’s a heartfelt 5-Star review from us! This house was the perfect location about an hour outside of Milan with an amazing view and charm for miles. It felt like an oasis and the views were unmatched. We loved every moment of our stay. The bathrooms have also been recently redone and are beautifully updated.

Fabulous views! Great excursions. Lovely comfortable home with well equipped kitchen. Enjoyed a wood fire on a rainy evening and sunrise on the alps on a clear morning. Communication with the owner family was prompt and helpful. Highly recommend this rental.

The communication was excellent! The home was lovely. Truly a home for familes or couples. Fully equipped, not a need unmet. Remarkable views of the lake and breathtaking sunsets. Immaculate and very private. A perfect spot to launch exploration of the lake.

We reserved this house after seeing the photos and reading about all its features. When we got there and saw how amazing the views were and how well equipped and lovely the house is in person, we were thrilled to stay a whole week. This is a long held family vacation home which has been loved for the decades. Every room has a gorgeous view of Lake Maggiore. One morning after a rain, the Monte Rosa massif was pure white in the distance and crystal clear. The garden of blooming azaleas is breathtaking. Henri was in contact immediately whenever I had a question. Even in early May Lake Maggiore is busy in the tourist towns, such as Stresa. Our retreat was quiet. We can’t say enough about this magical place and hope to return sometime.

Wir hatten wunderschöne Tage in der Villa Margarethe. Auch die Kommunikation mit Herrn Gabers war hervorragend und ist nicht selbstverständlich. Alles in allem sehr zu empfehlen, wenn man erholsame Urlaubstage erleben möchte.

Wir haben die Zeit im Haus sehr genossen. Der Blick auf den See ist fantastisch, die Kinder hatten viel Platz und Möglichkeiten zum Spielen und die Zeit am Privatstrand haben wir sehr genossen. Das Haus ist super aufgeteilt und sehr wohnlich mit einem tollen und gemütlichen Wohnzimmer. Die alten Bäder haben ihren Charme, könnten aber ein kleines Make Over vertragen. Martin ist als Gastgeber sehr gut erreichbar und um das Wohl seiner Gäste bemüht. Wir können uns vorstellen dort wieder Urlaub zu machen.

Fantastische Ferien in einem Traumhaus

Wir fanden alles so vor wie beschrieben, Ausblick und Anlage übertrafen aber noch unsere Erwartungen. Es gab sehr viele Beschäftigungsmöglichkeiten für Kinder (Trampolin, Tischtennis, Spiele) und viele liebevolle Details (Gartendusche, Hängematten). Martin war jederzeit erreichbar und extrem hilfsbereit. Wir kommen sehr gerne wieder!

Das Haus bietet in hervorragender Lage beste Bedingungen für einen entspannten Urlaub vor Ort. Ebenso ist es eine hervorragende Basis für Ausflüge rund um den Lago, für uns im September wesentlich für Wanderungen, durch die Fähre in Laveno auch auf der anderen Seeseite oder Ausflüge mit der Bahn nach Mailand. Das vollständig ausgestattete Haus liess für uns keine Wünsche offen.

Lovely Villa next to Lake Maggiore

We loved the view from the terrace, the sunsets, the quiet location, the great garden and the local restaurants which ranged from sophisticated to simple. Good local pizzerias in Reno and Cerro. All we suggest is that you need to like steps to reach the private beach and the ferry. Lake Maggiore is beautiful. This part of the lake benefits from being less busy and only 45 minutes from Malpensa airport.

Mit fünf Erwachsenen und drei Kindern haben wir fünf Tage über Silvester in diesem charmanten Haus verbracht und aus allen Zimmern den Blick auf den Lago Maggiore genossen. Das geräumige, gut aufgeteilte und geschmackvoll eingerichtete Haus ist mit allem ausgestattet, was man für einen entspannten Aufenthalt (auch mit mehreren Personen) benötigt und der wundervolle Garten und die Terrasse mit Panoramablick auf den See und die Berge lassen erahnen, dass man hier auch im Frühjahr und Sommer eine tolle Zeit haben kann - was wir auf jeden Fall vorhaben! Der Vermieter ist sehr freundlich, engagiert und gut erreichbar. Alles in allem ein toller Kurzurlaub!

Wir haben ein hervorragend ausgestattetes, großzügiges Haus mit Garten vorgefunden. Die 200 Stufen zum See waren gut zu meistern, und unten wartete ein toller See und eine gute Bademöglichkeit mit Schatten auf uns. Vor allem die Terrasse ist ein Traum. Vielen Dank, wir kommen gerne wieder.

Eine Woche durften wir das herrlich gelegene Haus unser nennen. Alles hat sich gleich sehr heimelig angefühlt. Das Gelände um das Anwesen herum ist sehr natürlich und liebevoll gestaltet. Der Vermieter, Herr Garbers, ist sehr freundlich und sehr daran interessiert, ob alles in Ordnung ist. Der Blick von der wunderschönen Terrasse auf den See ist mit nichts zu bezahlen..... Danke nochmals und wir kommen sehr gerne einmal wieder.

Wir sind am Abend am Ferienhaus angekommen und wurden mit einem genialen Sonnenuntergang über dem See empfangen. Alleine der Ausblick von der Terrasse und aus jedem Zimmer des Hauses ist ein Aufenthalt wert. Das Haus hat alles was man benötigt, Küchenutensilien, Spiele für drinnen und draußen, etc. Alles sehr gepflegt. Die Betten sind mit sehr guten Matratzen ausgestattet. Der große Garten ist sehr gepflegt und für Kinder bestens geeignet. Der Vermieter hat sich auch während unseres Aufenthalts nach unserem Befinden erkundigt, was ich als sehr nett empfunden habe. Eine Anregung hätten wir aber dennoch. Eine Außendusche würde das ganze noch perfekt machen (ist aber glaube ich schon vom Vermieter fürs kommende Jahr angedacht). Wir haben uns rundum wohlgefühlt und dies wird sicher nicht unser letzter Aufenthalt bei Familie Garbers sein.

We had an extended family trip to Lake Maggiore which we all enjoyed very much. The views from the house were breathtaking and the property was central to many other lakes and hiking trails. The house flowed well and had all the comforts of home and more. The garden was beautiful. I highly recommend Villa Margarete.

Belle maison de famille avec vue superbe dominante sur le lac Majeur et les iles. Idéal pour les parents pour son calme, et pour les enfants (cabanes, trampoline, etc.). Maison bien équipée et confortable avec un très grand jardin. Bien situé, avec petite plage privée en contrebas, et plages / ports à proximité. Un bel endroit pour se retrouver en famille ou entre amis.

Sehr gemütliches, familiäres Haus, sehr sauber, wunderschöner Garten, große Terasse mit atemberaubendem Blick auf den See und die Borromäischen Inseln. Das Haus ist für den Familienurlaub mit kleinen Kindern sehr gut geeignet und perfekt ausgestattet. Die Betreuung/ Vorbereitung durch den Vermieter war hervorragend. Wir können das Haus aufs Wärmste empfehlen. Jederzeit gerne wieder!

Von Reno aus sind viele Ausflugsziele gut erreichbar, Städte wie Laveno, Intra, Varese recht nah. Die Villa am Hang ist von einem großen und schönen Gartengrundstück umgeben, mit goßer Terrasse und Spielmöglichkeiten für Kinder. Das Haus selbst ist großzügig und schön geschnitten, alle Zimmer + Küche haben den Blick auf den See und die Berge. Alles, was man braucht, ist vorhanden, es fehlt buchstäblich an nichts. Hervorheben möchten wir noch die gute Vorbereitung für den Aufenthalt seitens des Vermieters.
