About this house rental
Happy to share our family's Vashon getaway with our guests.
Our place is a cozy 1,100 sf beach cottage on 50 feet of low bank waterfront/bulkhead. High tide puts water 4 feet from your windows and low tide allows for fun Puget Sound beach exploration. Our kids still love heading down to collect crabs and sand dollars.
We have two smaller bedrooms located upstairs. One with a Queen Bed the other a Full.
Main living space downstairs has what I'd call a "Sleeping Closet" that partitions off with an accordion door for privacy.
Kitchen is a smaller but fully furnished with nice cookware and has a full size dishwasher.
Key things to know about our spot.
- Access to the house features a lot of stairs so not a good fit for those who are mobility impaired.
- We only have TWO parking spots. It's important for guests to know this and not block driveways for our beach neighbors.
- Magnolia Beach is a uniquely Vashon community with a mix of year round residents and a big influx of seasonal 2nd homeowners. It's a fun tight knit community and during the summer, it is a regular occurrence for neighbors to take a social stroll along the bulkheads and seawalls. We've had a few guests who were surprised by this quirk so we want our listing to better describe the experience so those to who are seeking privacy above everything else can look elsewhere. On similar vein, we have a set of stainless steel stairs that give easy access to the beach. Those stairs are shared and occasionally used by our immediate neighbors. By contrast the winter is considerably less active and the vibe very serene.

Everything is as described or better, super well stocked, beautiful location. And the hospitality was next to none - we really felt right at home, and will miss Randy and the neighbors!

We recently had the pleasure of staying at the Beach House on Vashon Island, and it was nothing short of spectacular. From the moment we arrived, the stunning views took our breath away. The house is perched perfectly to offer panoramic vistas of the shimmering water and lush surroundings.The host was incredibly accommodating and attentive, ensuring we had everything we needed for a perfect stay. Whether you’re looking for a tranquil retreat or a place to gather with family and friends, the Beach House on Vashon Island is an absolute gem. I can't recommend it highly enough.

We came to the Vashon for our niece’s wedding. We were so fortunate to find this house. The best part was the view and having a cup of coffee in the morning. The beds were so comfy and the decor was so cute! We had 3 adults and 2 teenagers and we had plenty of room to hangout and have privacy. The listing is clear. There’s only one bathroom and the steps to the home are steep. Would definitely comeback to this place in the future. Also, we were greeted warmly by Suzanne and Ryan!

Lovely cabin on the water. We enjoyed watching the water and the tides. We even got a treat of seeing a group of sea otters resting and then taking back off hours later. Comfortable accommodations and such a great setup. We enjoyed our time on Vashon!

This property is literally RIGHT on the water and has great views. It’s very clean, comfortable, well maintained and the 2 chairs in the main living area are decadent to sit and watch the water and talk. There are a lot of stairs to navigate from the place you park your car to get down to the house so heavy or large baggage can be tricky. Fantastic spot and well worth it once you get unpacked!

What a jewel! The cabin and location can’t be beat. Friendly neighbors, well equipped kitchen, stunning view and hosts who quickly respond to any question. We hope to return for a much longer stay.

House was right on the water. It was very well supplied and easy to access.
WE visited with our son, daughter-in-law and young grandson.
Suzanne, the owner, was very accommodating. I would happily stay here again.

The Magnolia Beachfront Home was a safe harbor during a really crazy time. The owners were able to accommodate our last-minute request to stay while repairs were made to our house. It was delightful to watch the duck swim by and the seals lounge on the swimming platform in the middle of the inlet. The house is a cozy little A-frame with all the amenities you need.

A fantastic property with amazing views. Very well stocked with everything we needed. The steps down didn’t put us off, although wouldn’t want to tackle them in winter conditions. Would highly recommend.

The house was super comfortable, with amazing views. Kitchen was well-stocked with everything we needed to cook for our weekend. As others have noted, there is a long, steep stairway from the parking spot to the front door. Not a problem for us but could be problematic if you're carrying a bunch of luggage or have limited mobility.

if I was younger and could climb 75 stairs 2-3 per day, I would stay here again. don't let that stop you - it was an excellent play to stay...summertime would be ideal. Oh, they don't have cable tv, and the 50 stations they do have pixeled in and out constantly. wifi is good (they DO have wifi - update your info) .....Overall I would stay here again if I was younger. thanks so much!!

Loved this place! Two friends and I stayed here for the weekend and we each said that we would come back with our families. The living area is spacious, the kitchen had everything we wanted, the rooms were clean, and we appreciated the flexible and smooth check in. The bedrooms are cozy, and the mattresses and pillows were very comfy. The outdoor dining table is a great touch. And the location is just perfection: Quiet, remote but close to the downtown shops, and so lovely. There are plenty of steep stairs down to the property, so stay vigilant and I recommend checking in before dark. They were fine for us, but would be a challenge for someone with mobility issues. We were told we would have two parking spots, and although one was being used by an out of town neighbor, the owners' property managers next door were super friendly and helpful and it ended up being no problem. I sat outside both mornings and watched two of the most beautiful sunrises over the water that I've ever experienced.

Ever wonder what it would be like to have a waterfront home? This is it! This home has everything; SUP boards, kayaks, barbecue, windows galore and a fully stocked kitchen. We loved walking on the beach during low tide, chatting with friendly neighbors and just relaxing.

An absolutely lovely beach house! It had everything we needed and wanted. We loved the front wall of windows to look out at the water, I definately could have sat there all day. It was the perfect size for the 4 of us, the bedrooms were so cute and cozy, although you do need to watch your head on the ceilings upstairs.
The only downside to this property (for us) was the stairs down to the house. They are steep, and there is a lot of them, but we were fully aware and knew about them from the description the owners had. They wouldn't stop us from staying here again, but be cautious if you have an older person staying with you (My mom is in her 70's and was having a bit of a harder time) or have knee problems.
If you are staying on the island, be sure to look into the ferry prices if you have to take them frequently to Tacoma, we were a little shocked the 1st ride... but they are fun and a great experience.
Thank you for allowing us to experience the tranquility and relaxation of the Magnolia Beach house... next time I hope the weather cooperates and we can get the kayak and paddleboards out!

An absolutely lovely beach house! It had everything we needed and wanted. We loved the front wall of windows to look out at the water, I definately could have sat there all day. It was the perfect size for the 4 of us, the bedrooms were so cute and cozy, although you do need to watch your head on the ceilings upstairs.

Beautiful property!
We loved our stay at Magnolia Beachfront House! It was the perfect place for a quiet & relaxing weekend. We had a wonderful time exploring the wineries, breweries, shops, and other things Vashon Island has to offer. Can't beat the gorgeous view of Puget Sound from the entire cottage! Very clean and well appointed. Highly recommend, would stay here again!

Great place to retreat to with family
This property is well maintained, comfortable and very welcoming.
We needed to do a lot of cooking for an event on Is. and the kitchen was very well stocked with very nice quality cookery things we needed. A 2nd fridge is very handy with older kids too!
We love beach life and this home delivered!
We hope to make this an annual retreat!

It could not have been better! I wanted a place for my family and I to have Thanksgiving away from home. It was so well equipped, that we wanted for nothing. Harbor seals and water fowl visited us, almost as if they were checking on the place. It was amazing!

This was a return stay for us, having been there for Thanksgiving 2019. The view is splendid, the beds comfy, and the kitchen is well appointed! We didn't make use of the available kayaks and paddle boards, but there were PFD's aplenty and the water was like glass, so we wish we'd had time. The host communicates well, and his mom stopped by (they live next door) to make sure we had everything we need. If you have a problem with stairs this property isn't for you, otherwise it's highly recommended!

My wife & I went here for our 35th anniversary, and we had a fantastic time. It was clean, well-stocked with food and toys for inside and out. The neighbors were all fantastic and friendly, and we had a very relaxing, refreshing and enjoyable vacation. The amazing weather was a huge bonus, but would have loved the place in a storm just as much with the incredible view! Would highly reccomend!
