This small size cottage was sweet and plenty of amenities. A few surprises include the size of the place (it feels much larger with the enclosed back yard). The flow of the place was perfect. Older couples might not like the steps into the cottage or the inclined parking spot, however, it was easily walked and the outdoor stairs have a nice railing. The kitchen’s full size refrigerator and oven/stove were handy for making snacks/meals. Another plus was the town/beach are walking distance

Cute house close to nice cafe, coffee shop. Would stay again.

The house was nice if not outdated. The clawfoot tub was difficult to use and the shower curtain will touch you the whole shower, but other than that, and the lack of light in the rooms, it was a nice house. Big back yard to sit in. Close to the beach. My biggest issue was with the surprise fees at checkout, don't believe the cheap per night price. Our total price more than doubled with all the fees they tacked on just before checkout. Also, they sent me a ton of texts for extra services I had no interest in.

Only one minor suggestion, the home is near the busy road. There is persistent road noise as very common in Santa Barbara, not unusual. Perhaps suggest that for the noise sensitive to bring noise cancelling headphones for sleeping. Great place, loved it, would stay there 50 x over if given the opportunity. Thank you.

A charming historic cottage in the heart of Summerland, with a beautifully landscaped backyard. Spacious rooms are traditionally decorated, but only one bathroom and no dishwasher. Surprisingly quiet and convenient - just off the main road. Ideal for a small family or a few friends. The cottage could use a deep cleaning and updated bathroom plus a dishwasher.

Property was well maintained, bathroom was a little bit of issue because of the high claw foot tub with shower a little more difficult for older people to get in and out of. There wasn't a dishwasher, not a big deal because just the 2 of us but might be a problem for another group staying. Even with the bad weather that was happening all around us that week, everytime we had planned an outing we had beautiful sunny blue skies!

The property was large with 3 bedrooms and king beds. Very clean and fully equipped. Fully landscaped back yard with a large back patio kitchen. Close to town and beach.. Enjoyed it with our family!

Adorable and cozy
Everything was fantastic. My best friend and I had a girls weekend getaway. The house is so cozy and cute. The town is small but wonderful and the house is a 5 min walk to the beach. And just a 10 min drive to downtown Santa Barbara! I would absolutely come back here again and recommend to anyone visiting.

Fantastic getaway near Santa Barbara
This house was charming, comfortable and so well located. We loved the backyard and the kitchen that was filled with every gadget and appliance we could have needed. Summerland is such a cute town, and the beach was within easy walking distance. The drive to Santa Barbara took under 10 minutes. We would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Great Summerland Get Away
The cottage was ideal. It was located right in downtown Summerland and an 8-10 minute walk to the beach. Just lovely!

It’s next to the freeway and has massive and loud construction all night. You can’t sleep at night and the freeway is so loud you never want to be outside. There is one shower- you have to lift your leg very high to get in and you have the shower curtain to the tub clinging to you. If your 6ft your going to hit rhe shower head. The floor boards are a mess and the mattresses are too soft. I’d never return, Ever. My first bad review ever - after doing this type of thing for 21 years..

Very nice
We love to stay at this little college, it was the perfect place for our family. The only complaint I had was the shower was in adequate. Just the bathtub was amazing but the shower curtains were touching me at all sides and that was gross.

Very sweet beach cottage
My friend and I had a nice time at this very sweet beach cottage. We cooked, hung out around the house, and enjoyed short walks to the beach. We would stay again. :)

Our September Stay
Overall, we enjoyed this property. However, the bathroom was not stocked with soap, shampoo or toilet paper. Thankfully we brought our own. Also, the fridge was not plugged in, so we had to go buy ice for our perishables.
Also, the check out was at 10am, which seemed a little early, especially since (I'm assuming) there was no one coming right after us. (the house seemed like it had been empty for weeks prior to our arrival, kinda musty). And the gardeners came at 9:30am, so we had to rush out of there.
Overall we enjoyed the house and the area.

Getaway Cottage
We enjoyed our long weekend at the Summerland Cottage. The property was very clean and matched the online description.
A few issues:
1. The property does not have air conditioning. When we arrived the house was incredibly hot. This inconvenience was made worse by the petroleum fumes in the air that come off of the oil soaked beach just a block from the property.
2. No dishwasher.
3. Lack of bedside plugs for charging devices.
The property is charming and certainly had a beach town feel to it.

Perfect Beach Get Away
We were looking for a place to escape to the beach and this cute house in Summerland was perfect for our family. Situated close enough to everything and still a private oasis. We loved the coffee shop across the street, the restaurant next store and the beach two blocks away for morning runs and evening strolls. Thank you for the perfect week!

Quaint cozy cottage
Enjoyed our week stay in Summerland. This historical house was perfect resting point to the beaches and Santa Barbara. The house is set up with everything you might need for kids or just relaxing in the backyard or coffee on the porch. Short walks to breakfast or coffee. Would recommend for an alternative to SB. Winter or summer. This house is old but has been kept well.

Stagecoach cottage
Loved the stay at this property. The only suggestions we have is to install a few power strips or upgrade the outlets and make them more accessible specifically in the bedrooms. Also, the diverter valve in the shower seems to work intermittently. Thank you for making us feel at home! We enjoyed our time!

Wonderful place!
We had the best time. Place was terrific! Just one note: outside shower had no pressure. No big deal though.

Nice house, tough rental sgency
Stage Coach Cottage is comfortable and convenient. The bedrooms and kitchen are terrific. The shower is challenging.
Paradise Retreats, the rental agency, is uptight, controlling and unhelpful. Steer away from them if other options are available.

Nice cozy cottage that is well cared for and surprisingly roomy!
My family had a nice stay at this cottage. The house was well appointed with towels, dishes and beach supplies, and my kids appreciated the toys as well. We had 3 adults and 2 children, and we found the cottage very roomy and the backyard was lovely. The only downside is its proximity to the highway and the Amtrak line. Light sleepers will need earplugs. Summerland beach and Lookout Park were literally a 5 minute walk (with toddlers!) away. We drove to Montecito or Santa Barbara every day, and both were 10 minutes away.

Family Vacation
We rented this home for our family vacation (six adults) with plenty of room for all of us and just what we expected from the pictures that drew us to the Stagecoach House. The kitchen was well furnished with a nicely landscaped backyard to enjoy early morning coffee. The home was located within a very easy walk to the beach, easy drive to Santa Barbara and highway 101. Summerland was the small beach town we were looking for.

Great cottage for a long weekend stay!
We had an extended family get away to Santa Barbara, and this cottage in Summerland was just perfect for us. It was a great location, walking distance to a couple of great restaurants, and easy walking distance to the beach. The house is very comfortable with great bedrooms, comfortable beds, and a nice living room, dining room, and updated kitchen.

Perfect Home and Location
My wife and two young sons (age 1 and 3) were really excited to get away for a long weekend to the Santa Barbara area. We decided to rent the Stagecoach house and when we got there, were even more excited as the house seems to out do even the pictures and the location was perfect in Summerland! It even included a pack n'play and highchair! Walking distance (5 mins) to the beach, downtown Summerland, and the house was fantastic with a backyard that exceeded expectations! The house has all the modern amenities you could want (Netflix is even on the TV, internet) and all the charm of the old home. Definitely coming back soon!
