We found the Left Bank a surprise. So surprising to have a Heritage Building in Kaikohe, and we wer very well looked after by our host. It was very generous of Keith to put us in THE COTTAGE, where we had access to the kitchen and could also sit outside and enjoy the simple garden.
There was no breakfast available but we could use the kitchen, and had tranported food so we were OK.

Comfy, friendly staff, central location, clean, nice bathrooms, quiet, kept our bikes safely locked up for the night.

Staff were friendly, helpful and were willing to help make our stay more enjoyable e.g. provided citronella candle for while we were sitting outside.

The renovations to the building and room were lovely. Beautifully themed and comfy bed.
There needed to be a fridge in the room and a small table of some type, i.e. a coffee table or similar. The tea trolley was too full of gear to use. Also a rubbish bin and and or a recycling bin somewhere in the room would have been very useful.

This was a beautifully renovated bank made into a classy hotel. Sadly due to staff deficit and unfireseeable circumstances there was no restaurant operating , therefore no breakfast available which always makes it more difficult, however the hotel allowed guests to use a small kitchen and dining area which was good. The rooms and bathrooms were beautiful .
No hotel parking but safe locked parking available over the road for a small charge. No meals or restaurant.

Someone else booked my stay so I had no expectations however it was delightful. The little quaint cottage had great atmosphere I just wanted to stay on.
Honestly it was so charming Im only being picky but replace the plastic coat hangers on the back of the door, and a reading lamp for at night as the light was not strong enough to read in bed.

I loved the quaintness of the rooms especially teacups etc and layout of bath/shower facilities. My friend had room 3 so I don't know if the tv was quite in the right place but in room 2 it was awesome.
I liked the ability to have our own access after hours and the offer of off street parking.
There wasn't anything that I didn't like.

A safe haven...exceptional couple that went out of their way to make our stay memorable and a great experience!
Even offered to cook a delicious salmon meal for just the four of us....turns out Shane is a 5 star 🌟 chef! Highly recommended!

gorgeous historical building with huge elegant rooms. great management. only 6 rooms in the hotel, so very personal service. the newly reopened restaurant was lovely and we had two great meals there.
nothing!

Having access to the hotel kitchen and dining area to eat our own meals was an added bonus. Secure shed to keep bikes and nice garden area to sit. Our room was huge and we loved our stay.

Excellent choice for anyone doing the Pou Herenga Tai – Twin Coast Cycle Trail. Secure parking for when you leave your car. Very stylish, characterful and clean.
Unable to offer cooked meals or breakfast due to staff issues at this time of year. A shame but many businesses are struggling with this.

Helpful host . Excellent security for bikes a d vehicle
Outdoor chairs need repairs

No breakfast was available, but this was advised before I left home. Rooms were clean and comfortable; I was there for one night only and dog-tired when I got there so I wanted to sleep and didn't really pay too much attention to anything else.
The only niggle, and it's a small one, wa that car parking was advertised for $5 per night and I was charged $10. A small thing, as I say, but I did wonder exactly which gap the wee difference had fallen through in the information cycle.

The heritage building was renovated very well.
No restaurant and there isn’t really any decent places to eat out in Kaikohe. We took our own food which we were able to eat in the guests lounge.
The local traffic noise is not good.
There weren’t any nice soaps and shampoo which I would have expected for the price we paid for the room.
We had to pay for secure car storage as Kaikohe is not a very safe town.
4.3
Beautiful rooms, and the hotel was lovely. Easy to find.
Nothing really, it would have been perfect if the restaurant was open but know it is out of their control. Perhaps it could be considered that the restaurant can reopen Friday and Saturday nights?
4.3
Unfortunatley the hotel restaurant and bar was not open due to staff shortages, so the house manager made a small dining room table available for guests ,and supplied all the cutlery, plates etc to eat in with any takeaway. This was curcial because the dining options in kaikohe are very basic and limited. We drove to Pahia after the first night to find a restaurant as opposed to a very basic takeaway. The aircon was very quiet and efficicnet and was invaluable because you could expreince some traffic noise depending on where your room is situated. But it is a beautifully restored and furnished hotel with very high quality furniture, bedding etc.
It seemed to us that a simple breakfast could have been offered at very litle effort for guests as all the facilities were there. We found the fire doors were very noisy and wondered if they could be fitted with a soft close mechanism, it was difficult to come and go quietly.

historic building, cosy room
4.3
A beautifully renovated historic building. We loved our comfortable and spacious bedroom with its gorgeous en-suite. We were served a superb continental breakfast in the hotel's dining room. Our stay was made more special by the lovely lady in charge. We will definitely return.
4.3
The room was comfortable and had everything I needed.
It is very sad there is not enough staff to run the restaurant. Particularly whilst there is no other good food options in Kaikohe for visitors.
4.3
location, good vale for money, clean, large rooms , helpful staff
just the stairs, but being a heritage building understand. Also with shower over the bath think grab rail on wall would be helpful.
4.3
Safe secure cycle storage. Impressed by cleanliness inside and out

it is beautiful inside.
they didn’t have. restaurant due to staffing which they knew before I arrived.
