The apartment is on two levels, composed of: a bright living room, a full kitchen, sofa bed, two bathrooms and two bedrooms! with all comforts. The property is directly facing on Santa Croce Square and you have to MAGIC VIEW on the square from its 3 windows. The apartment is of great historical interest. It Has Been completely redeveloped and is the ideal place to relive the atmosphere of the Florentine renaissance. Exquisitely redeveloped with top quality materials. the pictures in the listing do not do this apartment justice; it is so much nicer.
2 levels of near perfection on the first floor with views of the church, children walking to school and tourists meandering around.
my only criticism, if even one, is that screens in the windows to keep the mosquitos out would make this a 10 out of 10 apartment to rent

Stayed in Florence for one month and enjoyed every minute in this superb flat. Every amenity that we needed and we loved our location..Piazza Santa Croce is full of activity which makes for great people watching out the large double windows, but is about ten minutes away from the big crowded areas.
Gianna and Umberto were extremely helpful in making our stay comfortable and I highly recommend Madison Alighieri

The apartment was great, spacious and quiet while overlooking the bustle of Piazza Santa Croce. Everything was spotlessly clean and Gianna was very welcoming although my arrival was slightly delayed. I stayed 5 weeks and found the location perfect for exploration of all areas of the city!

Gorgeous apartment in perfect location. Easily walkable to all the sights.
Check-in was simple and Gianna was kind enough to wait for us when we were delayed!

We booked a VRBO property half-way thru the trip soley to do laundry. So I searched only properties with washing machine. We get there and the owner said the washing machine was broken. We were given 1 towel each (4 guests) to use for 4 days....no way to wash the towels either. When I asked the owner for more towels, she wanted to charge 40 Euro per day for clean towels. We had to check in to a hotel for the remainder of our time in Florence. It was very inconvenient and more expensive.

The two of us really enjoyed this spacious VRBO overlooking the Santa Croce plaza! Seemed less crowded than center town and we were able to walk everywhere very easily. Gianna, the manager, was very kind, easy going, and quick with text responses to our questions. We will definitely stay here again, and recommend it to everyone!

Check in process very easy, clean. Loved that there was a washing machine. Location was awesome. My family was really looking forward to this stay and it did not disappoint.

My family of five adults had a wonderful stay in this apartment right on Piazza Santa Croce. Location could not have been any better! Super clean, comfy, incredible view and convenient to all the main attractions in Florence. We walked everywhere. Communication with property manager was great! Loved it all!

The apartment was just as described and very clean. It’s location is convenient to get to all the major sites. They recommended great restaurants, grocery store is very close and Santa Croce church is beautiful inside and out.

I was in Florence for 6 weeks completing my masters degree. I could not have asked for a more comfortable abode! Great air conditioning, roomy shower, lovely primary bedroom that was very quiet, ENORMOUS amounts of storage for clothes. In Piazza Santa Croce where I could go visit Michelangelo whenever I felt like it. Able to walk all over from home base. House cleaning available for extended stays at a really reasonable price. Can not recommend enough!

This property is located in the heart of one of the most special, beautiful, artistic, and vibrant parts of Paris. Located right off the Metro 1, easy accessibly to main attractions all over Paris. Our family was so comfortable and thrilled with our visit and especially our location. Thank you!

The host was very helpful and thoughtful. She was quick to respond to questions too. We weee located on the square of Santa Croce so we had a constant view of the beautiful basilica!! The space was very comfortable and we would definitely stay here again!

Excellent property. Close to all the sites like Duomo, etc. we would highly recommend for a family of four. Very friendly manager and she gave us great restaurant recommendations. The pizza restaurant called IL Pizzaaoula was the best pizza we had ever and great service. Also, there is a fantastic coffee shop with delicious pastries right across the square.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Florence! The property was very nice and appointed well. Having the Basillica de Santa Croce right out our window was amazing. Plenty of space for us and our 2 adult children. Their bedroom was a little tight, but so much better than a hotel would have been. Gianna met us at the room, gave us suggestions on restaurants, markets, etc., and was very helpful and responsive. 5 stars all around! Would definitely stay here again.

Umberto and Gianna we're so friendly and helpful! The unit itself was great, although the 2nd bedroom and bath were very tiny. Views from the window onto Piazza Santa Croce were fabulous. The central location made it incredibly easy to get around this beautiful city. We recommend you do not bring a car. We would absolutely stay here again.

We had a wonderful stay at this apartment. Umberto and Barbara were both very responsive to any of our questions. It was located in a great area close to shopping and great restaurants! A market was set up in the square this Saturday and Sunday which was very convenient to the apartment. I would say that the front bedroom is subject to noise from the square at night so if you go to bed early, stay in the bedroom behind the kitchen.
Look forward to another stay someday soon!

Ok, if I could rate Umberto’s Santa Croce apartment more than five stars, I would. Everything was exceptional!! From the time of booking, Umberto was available and answered questions as we booked some Florence activities in advance of our trip. We were in awe of the location the moment we arrived, it is literally beside Santa Croce Basilica overlooking the piazza. Gorgeous location and such a treat to see that right outside your window during your stay. Then we went inside to discover that the apartment looked even better than it did online in photos. It is clean, spacious, meticulously kept and well appointed. It has the feel of hotel touches in a stunning home away from home. So many little decor details add to the charm. We were met by Barbara who went over everything with us and gave restaurant suggestions, etc…
We had an amazing vacation while in Florence and staying in Umberto’s Santa Croce apartment just made it exceptional. The question is not will we return to this apartment, but when? This was a family vacation with our two teenage boys and all of us enjoyed the space. Thank you to Umberto, and also Barbara, for helping to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. We were able to walk to everything we had planned and this location simply cannot be beat. I’m someone who analyzes every detail/review before finally booking a VRBO accommodation when we travel. Let me save you some time and tell you, book this apartment now ~ you will not be disappointed! We cannot wait to go back!!

Check in was easy and efficient. The flat was fully stocked with toiletries, towels, and linens. The flat had plenty of room with a fantastic view from the front windows out to the piazza. This piazza was less crowded than others in Fierenze, and offered a nice respite from the crowds.

You don't hear any of the noise in the master bedroom but people sleeping in the front rooms did. The trade off is that the view is really awesome. Our check in process was a little clunky but that could have been easily solved with better coordination. We were outside the apt. and our host didn't know it (she was inside!) and I didn't have anyway to get a hold of her. Probably more of a rookie mistake on my part than anything. One of the building tenants happened to walk out while we were standing there and helped us figure it out. Once in, our host could not have been more lovely and welcoming. Everything you want to see in Florence is walkable distance but definitely get "skip the line" tickets to minimize waiting in lines.

The location was great! It is in a square which can be a little noise but not enough to bother me. I found it charming and the house was clean with a comfortable bed and great bathroom!
