This vacation rental home is less than a 20 minute drive to the heart of Maggie Valley, Cataloochee Ski Area, Tube World (snow tubing), Wheels Through Time (a historic motorcycle museum, as featured on History Channel's "American Pickers"), horseback riding and several golf courses. In nearly the same amount of time, you could be in Waynesville at Ingles and Publix grocery stores, Walmart or head to Main Street in Waynesville and enjoy boutique and souvenir shopping, dining and sightseeing.
Within a 30 minute drive you could be on the Blue Ridge Parkway exploring vast and beautiful mountain overlooks. Within 30-35 minutes you could be in The Great Smoky Mountain National Park, Harrah's Casino in Cherokee (even if you do not gamble, Harrah's Casino has some of the best restaurants around).
Just a little further from Maggie Valley just west of Cherokee is Bryson City (home of the Great Smoky Mountain Railway running railway tours most of the year and "Polar Express" is a featured railway tour during the Christmas Holidays). Within a short drive outside of town is also Pisgah National Forest, additional golf course options, and much more.
A little more than 40 minutes away, you'll arrive in Asheville at the Biltmore Estate and Winery, several micro-breweries, and 1 hour and 20 minutes away is Transylvania County (home of the most waterfalls in the United States), and over 100 antique shops.
Approximately 50 minutes away heading south to Hendersonville, you can visit Sierra Nevada Brewery (with their enormous dining and tap room), gem mining white water rafting, zip-lining and much more in the surrounding areas. You are 1 hour and 25 minutes to Gatlinburg, TN and Pigeon Forge (home of Dollywood). Only 2 hours away you can venture into Wear's Valley, Townsend in the Pigeon Forge area and explore Cades Cove Loop, an 11 mile natural drive through tour of historic cabins, churches, waterfalls, hiking trails or just stay in the car taking several road options and view bears, turkeys, deer, elk and other wildlife from a distance.
Approach and access to this home is paved, moderately steep and will require AWD/4-wheel drive in the Winter months, as the driveway is short and steep and ice may be an issue. This property is not recommended for motorcycle access.

It is a very small road to the cabin and on a very steep hill so it’s very hard to get up the driveway. Very beautiful once you get up there though. Check in and out was a little bit of a hassle because you have to go to a separate place to get your stuff and take your trash.

We all enjoyed our cabin. The pool table and foosball table added great entertainment went away from the slopes. The Jacuzzi was enjoyed by my grandson and his mom twice. Can’t say enough about how nice they were to work with us as my son had to have an emergency surgery after a skiing accident. They let us add an additional night at midnight when we got back from the hospital. ❤️❤️

Very nice and well kept property. Our only issue was we didn’t realize how far up the mountain this property was and we were towing motorcycles on trailers which made it difficult to navigate to the cabin and up the steep driveway…

The place is not as clean as you expect. Cobwebs around the corners of the walls and ceiling lights are commonly seen. A layer of dust is all around the window frames and on the floor between the furniture. The kitchen is the worst. If you plan to cook at the cabin, I am sorry. You cant there is not a single pot with lid in this kitchen which makes it extremely hard to prepare meal. Most of dinner wares are plastic. Only a couple porcelain plates and bowls are available. We have stayed in different cabins in maggie valley and we know what a comfortable and well maintained place would look like. Absolutely not recommend…

Laurel View Lodge is magic. Stunning location. Cozy, comfortable, clean home. It’s like living in a luxurious tree house. So much to do in the area, and so great to begin and end each day in that home. We’ll be back!

Our experience
Cob webs in windows, dust on a lot of surface areas, mouse in our house and when we called was told they could not do anything about it until we checked out due to it being a holiday weekend. My mother is terrified of mice so was not an enjoyable stay for her. We also had my granddaughter with us who is crawling so we where afraid to let her down most of the time. Was not really stocked with paper products and we where not told that we may have to provide our own.

loved the house, service was great. if it had been snowy or icy, even the road to the house would have been scary! the driveway nearly impossible- even with snow tires- unless you live on the edge. hot tub was delightful, house very charming! great overall- highly recommend!

Great amenities, would definitely recommend this cabin.
Really nice amenities, great attention to detail. Good hot showers and nice bedding. Only minor issue was too much chlorine in hot tub, can potentially bleach swimsuits. Also hot tub was a little small. Overall loved the stay

Great time!
The location was beautiful & the house had all the amenities we were looking for. The driveway was a bit tricky but is
expected in the mountains.

Nice vacation home..
Nice house with many amenities. Convenient to local shopping and food. Kids loved the hot tub and the pool table. Driveway is super steep but there's a nice mountains view from up there! We enjoyed the porch -- need more comfy seating out there though!

Great little get away in a great little town.
The stay was much needed and enjoyed, we had alot of relaxing time in the deck looking at the surrounding mountains and walking through out the stores looking at all the items. Would definitely recommend it to anyone else that is looking for a nice place to stay with a nice view as long as you have a car that can battle the driveway.

Wonderful mountain retreat
We had an amazing time here! The cabin was perfect for our family (two kids, four adults). The cabin was very clean and looked just like the pictures. The deck and hot tub were perfect to relax and enjoy the beautiful views of the mountains. Everyone had lots of fun in the game room too. 30-40 minute drive to the smoky mountain park and hiking was great for us as well. Easy process to check-in. Overall a great vacation! We’d definitely stay here again.

Not happy with property manager
The cabin itself and the location were awesome. However, the hot tub bleached our bathing suites and there were green specs in the water that stained our suites as well. But our main frustration was the fact that the property manager didn’t seem to believe me or take my word for it even after sending pics of our ruined bathing suites. She even acknowledged that the cleaning person mentioned the green specs and said that they cleaned it “extra”, which I assume means more bleach than usual, but then denied them using any more than the recommended cleaning amount. They gave us the hot tub fee back but the point of her arguing it and denying it is what made it frustrating.

Amazing getaway
Everything was great. Only desire was for the hot tub to be a little hotter

This cabin rules!!!
The photos and reviews of this cabin do not do it justice! The cabin is nestled Up high on the mountain, and has an incredible high view of the mountains from the living room window. The property is private and serene. The only thing that could be seen as a downside is that the roads leading up to the cabin and the drive way are very steep. We managed fine with our low riding sedan, but in the winter you would need a 4x drive if there was snow on the driveway.

Overall Okay
Laurel View Lodge is a very nice spot, but it needs a lot of work, for instant the game room (Garage) was too cold for my grandchildren to play as a matter of fact the basement was very cold and uncomfortable. No Broom, nor vacuum cleaner, Rug in living room and loft moves so be very careful. The place was very dusty, no light over stove . We had a great time in the hot tub and walking alone side the road. This is a beautiful view Thank You!

Nice but Tight
Nice Property but each floor is tight on space, and tight on parking.

Fabulous property...
We loved our stay here. The cabin was everything we had hoped it would be. Clean, nice location, kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed and great updated appliances. The driveway was steep but manageable for our Honda CRV. The property was dog friendly which was nice for us but the heard area was only a strip of grass on either side of the driveway. You can walk your dogs along the road so they can do their business and not worry about cars since there is only one other house on the entire road and it’s nicely paved...
We will definitely stay here again...
