We were in London for a week and the apartment was a good spot for exploring the city. It had sufficient space for 3 and there were almost 10 places to eat within a 5 minute walk. There were 2 very hot days and the bedroom has 2 fans but no air conditioning although the main room does. The window cannot be opened due to the noise from the meat market in the night. Also, the washer dryer combo worked well for washing but not for drying. Rolf did offer us another dryer for use. Besides those 2 issues, we were really pleased with our stay.

Great location. The only issues that we encountered have been repeated in other reviews…. Noisy bar downstairs and very noisy meat market across the street during the night. This being said, I do believe the owners have made efforts to reduce the noise but installing proper windows and window treatments. Only other real negative was the lack of towels for our two week stay. There is a washer but the dryer malfunctioned while we were there and had to hang dry towels and clothes. Some items could also use a little updating and the kitchen area is seeing some wear and tear just from overuse. The owner was extremely responsive and easy to contact!

We stayed in the summer and when it was hot outside it was hot inside. There was a standing a/c unit in one room but it didn’t cool the place. We kept windows open but the meat market is right across the street and it is very loud at all hours of night with trucks, carts, yelling etc so windows open is tough. Bring earplugs! Otherwise location etc was great!
4.7
Lots of train lines close by, so my family and I were able to get anywhere in the city quickly, as well as to London Stadium and Wembley Stadium. Neighborhood seems nice, safe - no problems. Excellent value for the location. We would return!

The apartment was as advertised, yet is most appropriate for a family given the two large single beds in the main living/kitchen area. This would not be ideal for a couple renting this one bedroom apartment. Although we appreciated the convenient location and being within a short walk to the train station and bus stop, the apartment is located next to a very busy Smithfield Wholesale meat market which operates from midnight to10:00 am. With the windows closed the noise is barely decernable, but could be a factor to consider when renting this apartment. We were there when weather was quite warm and although an air conditioner was noted as a simple connection; it was a portable unit that requires venting through a window, thus making the limited floor space even more crowded. We chose not to set it up and used the fans. The pots and pans were unusable, but after contacting the owner they sent a new set via Amazon the next day. Much appreciated. The owner was responsive given a few issues that arose during our stay. It would a great apartment if it were set up as a proper living/dining room combo, rather than cramming extra beds in the living area.

My husband, 23-year-old son and I stayed for 10 days. Rolf and Mok were much better about communication than we were, getting helpful detailed info and recommendations to us in advance so we could plan and checking to make sure we’d arrived when they hadn’t heard from us. (And they hadn’t heard from us because everything was so clearly explained.) We also hit the ground running and never stopped the whole time we were there. The flat is perfectly located near Farringdon Station with access to most everywhere. We took public transport the entire time, and we appreciated the area is a little removed from the more busy streets of London. As we love to walk, we also found it within distance to Barbican, where we enjoyed the London Symphony Orchestra, Trafalgar Square, Parliament, the London Eye, and the more tourist-laden sites in that area along the Thames. It’s a hike to the latter two, but we enjoyed just seeing the city on foot. One specific recommendation is visiting the Royal Observatory and taking in the most spectacular view of London and taking the water taxi back from Greenwich after dark and seeing the amazing city lights and bridges. Anyway, the flat is very functional! The shower and WiFi work well. We never had any time to watch television. The only issue is noise from the bar below and the adjacent meat market, which runs midnight to 7 am four nights a week, I think. But the noise is muffled by double panes on the windows. Still, you may want to consider earplugs.

Had a lovely stay over Christmas. Really close to tube stations. Nice apartment with good facilities - kitchen, dishwasher, etc. Host is easy to communicate with.

Exactly as it says! Great location & a breeze to get to from Heathrow
4.7
The flat was perfect for our family of four. We loved being so close to the Elizabeth line and St Paul’s Cathedral. And the local pubs and coffee shops were very convenient at the start/end of our days. It was great that our kids had separate twin beds. The shower was amazing! And Rolf was very attentive.
4.7
Rolf was very quick to respond with any question I had prior to arriving. We had very detailed instructions about where to go and how to get in just prior to departing from home to go to London. The location was incredibly convenient with regard to getting to anywhere we wanted. I do recommend this place.

Rolf was one of the nicest and most personable hosts I’ve met. I would book with him again in a heart beat.
The apartment is situated in a very interesting and rich historical location on the perimeter of London and it’s close to the Farringdon/ Barbican stations.
I loved the apartment. It suites a family of four with two teenagers much better than a family with very young children.
4.7
Near from many attractions
But the Smithfield Market are very very noisy all night long
It’s impossible to sleep with windows open
Communication with host is ok

Great apartment in the heart of historic Farringdon. Who knew about the oldest church in London, the execution of Sir William Wallace and the vibrant Smithfield markets? Not us but we do now.
Communication was great. We stayed over Christmas so a lot of pubs and restaurants were closed but we had a brilliant time. You can walk to the Globe Theatre and Tower of London and the new Elizabeth line from Heathrow stops about 150m away.
The apartment is London sized but well appointed. We were very happy. Thanks Rolf.

The flat worked well for us. The photos on the Vrbo listing were not exact as there is only one twin bed in the living/kitchen area so we don’t feel it would sleep 5. We connected with Rolf as soon as we arrived. He came by to make sure we got into the flat — we did have difficulty getting into the lockbox and we had to call him, but by the time he arrived we had opened it. During our stay he responded quickly when we had a question or problem. We loved the location since it is close to St. Paul’s which we visited frequently and it is within walking distance to the buses and tube. And both of us being 70+ ladies the convenience for city travel and groceries is very important. Fascinated watching the Smithfield meat market during the early morning hours. Overall a pleasant stay.

This was a great apartment for our week in London. The tube lines are so convenient, particularly the Elizabeth line from Heathrow. Walking distance to so much and a great neighborhood environment. Great pubs right downstairs with great food. The only kind of negative was the Smithfield Market. It was in full swing at 3 am and could get a little noisy. But even that wasn’t that bad. I would absolutely recommend this cute flat.
4.7
Pics are exactly what flat is like. Location right near public transportation options and within walking distance to many tourist areas and attractions. Lots of restaurants and grocery stores nearby. Kitchenette nicely set up. Def recommend this flat!

Great location with all transportation around and easy access to main London spots

Overall a good experience staying at this property. Pro’s are that its close to St. Paul’s cathedral, the London tube, Millennium bridge, and several of the other attractions in the area. Also right below is an excellent pub with good food and drink and also right down the street from some good coffee shops. Con’s would be that it is small, which was in the listing, and that it is fair distance away from some of London’s other main attractions. Overall a good place and would recommend but just know what you are getting and where you are located.. Owners of the property were very attentive and that also would be a pro.

Fabulous location and great set up. We really enjoyed our stay here.
4.7
Flat was located in a central location close to the Faringdon tube station. Our hosts were quick to respond regarding any questions or concerns. Check-in and check-out was seamless with detailed instructions.
Our major complaint was the Wi-Fi was poor and unable to sustain most internet functions. The bedding and towels could also use an update, as they were in poor condition.
Overall, a positive stay in a great location!
4.7
We had the best time visiting London and staying in Rolf & Mok's flat made that possible. The location was absolutely perfect. Farringdon Station (serviced by multiple Tube lines) is just around the corner. We could get to just about everything we wanted to see in about 20 minutes from the flat. The place was clean and comfortable - accommodated 4 adults just fine. There's two pubs just outside the front door too for when you come home from a day full of seeing the sights too! Communication with Rolf and Mok was great. They even provided a link to an online journey planner; so we were able to know exactly how to get to all the sights. I would definitely rent this flat again. Thanks Mok and Rolf!!

we loved this place- very clean and accessible

The property was clean, with easy access to everything.

This flat was fully as advertised. Great place, all the necessary amenities. Rolf is an incredibly responsive host. The location is amazing. Great neighborhood (just steps from St Paul’s) with access to at least 3-4 different tube lines. You’re also walking distance from lots of the big sites.
The review about the noise of the big market nearby was worrisome, but once we shut the windows, the sound disappeared.
We highly recommend this flat.

Me and my family took a trip to London during January. The location of the place to the proximity of things we wanted to see was very good. Two easy metro stations close by. If we come back to town we surely will try to stay here again.

Rolf and Mok communicated with us early and often and helped us out with some challenges along the way (even while they were own their own vacation!). A+ for communication and response!Location is fantastic. Very central with easy access to several tube stations/bus stops a short walk away. historic neighborhood (William Wallace, John Wesley, St. Bartholmew's, St. Paul/s, Smithfield Market) you could spend days exploring and has some world class restaurants along with very accessible local pubs. I highly recommend! It was cosy for our family of 5 and would gladly stay here again! I loved the heated floors in the bathroom!Again, our hosts, Rolf and Mok were stellar communicators and we very much appreciated their quick responses and clarity. Thank you for making our London visit even more enjoyable!

Easy access to public transportation
So easy to reach any mode of public transportation we needed. My two children enjoyed having their own beds (the beds, pillows and duvets were all super comfortable!). Lift was out of order during our stay but that was only mildly inconvenient when we arrived/departed because of our luggage. Definite plus having the AC unit in living space and fan in bedroom since the first two days were brutally hot. The washer/dryer unit wasn't really useful to us as it is small and took a while to dry the clothes. This didn't really affect us; we overpacked so didn't have to rely on it for clean clothes. There was a learning curve with the AC - - luckily we figured it out on our own as it was very late when we arrived; Rolf did respond to my queries the next morning. We didn't need to correspond with him anymore during our trip - he gives detailed instructions on everything you need to know. We logged into our Netflix account so the kids were happy to be able to watch their shows after our long days out and about. We are from a city so the Smithfield Market noise wasn't really an issue for us, but it is very noisy all throughout the night and early morning. Also the pub downstairs was quite noisy on the weekend, but not a big deal for us as we are used to city noises (after the heatwave, we left the windows open in the evenings to enjoy the cool breeze... noise probably much reduced with windows closed). There is a Tesco Express two blocks away - - we relied on that for water and all other basic necessities. There are nearby restaurants and a couple of nights my husband went around to them and got take-out so we could eat a late dinner in the VRBO. Buses and tube stations very convenient and London public transportation is a great way to get around. 5 minute walk to St. Paul's. The bathroom is great - - powerful shower head with great temperature water. Kitchen has all the appliances / utensils you'll need -- we did have a little trouble getting the stove top to work properly so boiling water / making a grilled cheese took longer than it probably should have (I blame user error). All in all, a great little place to stay. We were there for 8 nights and it worked out well for us!

First let me say that the owners were great, sent us very detailed emails with lots of helpful information, and explained how everything worked in the home. It is small, and for a family of 5 it was just big enough. 3 of the beds were in the living/dining/kitchen area, but that was fine. We really weren't there much at all during the day. Also, as it turned out, we were there during the record heat wave and the only air conditioner was a window unit in the living/kitchen/dining room, so the bedroom was a sauna, even with the oscillating fan that was there. Not the owners fault of course, but I was hoping for central air when it said it had AC. Also not the owners' fault, but the elevator was broken when we were there and it was 4 flights of stairs up - not easy with 3 small kids and 3 bags. Thankfully we only had to do that once! :)There are plenty of bars, restaurants and a grocery store within just a couple of blocks, and the Underground and bus system is pretty close and easy to navigate.Overall we are very happy we stayed here.

Perfect location, but noisy
The apartment is very nice, perfectly located a few steps from undergrounds stops and very close to many attractions.
It was clean, and comfortable, with all appliances you may need and a cupboard in the kitchen with plenty of goods for immediate refreshments. There is plenty of dish-washer soap, toilette paper, trash sacks and you do not need to buy anything to feel comfortable upon arrival.
The owner sends you all necessary information to reach the apartment and how to enter. We didn’t need to contact him during our staying, but I’m sure that he would have been promptly available on mobile.
My three children felt "at home" as soon as we arrived!
The only problem of the apartment is the noise. It is very close to a meat market and the supplying process of the market take places every working night and Sunday night with so many trucks maneuvering and unloading all night long. The noise is bearable if you keep windows shut closed, but it is quite annoying if you want them opened in hot weather.
Would I return to this apartment?
Yes! Staying there have been very pleasant, but not in full summer...
