About this cabin rental
At the edge of a wildflower meadow with mountain views, this beautifully furnished glamping tent has a king-size water bed, sofa and private deck. Each tent has a kitchenette in the Lodge. There is a sweet new Bath House. Enjoy wood-fired pizza and our new all natural wood hot tub. Get fresh eggs from our henhouse. 40 acres of meadows, woods, pond, streams and trails. Nightly bonfires, star gazing, a nearby lake and rafting in the Hudson River below. Golf cart service to your tent.
We have four glamping tents, Glamp Richard, Glamp Suzanne, Glamp Bernice and Glamp Thomas which are spaciously set apart for privacy yet an easy walk to the Bath House and the Lodge where each glamping tent has its own kitchenette.
The tents have a “fly” over them so they stay remarkably cool during the day and completely waterproof. At night, zip up the canvas windows and doors, and stay cozy under handmade feather quilts.
The new Bath House has a women’s side with two toilets, a shower and double vanity with glass vessel sinks; ditto for the men’s side. In the nearby Lodge, there is also a lovely new bathroom with an old-fashion claw foot tub where you can enjoy a deep bath with lavender salts. We provide nice towels and soap.
In the Lodge, there are individual kitchenettes for each of our four glamping tents.
It has a sink, one burner cooktop, coffee maker, compact refrigerator, dishes, cutting board, glasses, utensils, napkins and basics of salt, pepper, sugar. Bring your own coffee and cream. There are open shelves for you to store your groceries.
Outside are several charcoal grills and a gas grill. We provide charcoal and lighter fluid.
We spent the fall and winter of 2019 building an amazing all natural cedar hot tub. Located on one of the most beautiful spots of our land, our new Japanese wood hot tub is a delightful treat for our guests. Built within a small post and beam temple-like structure with gorgeous views of the mountains beyond and wildflowers below, our spa tub is a wonderful way to relax during your stay. $25 for an hour’s retreat of happiness.
Most nights in the summer, we offer wood fired pizza. Here’s how it works. We make and provide the dough, and guests bring their own toppings. We fire up the wood-fired pizza in the late afternoon. By six, the wood fire has died down and the oven is about 800 degrees. Starting at 6:30 and ending about 7:30, guests come to the pizza pavilion with their toppings and we help them cook their pizzas. Because the oven is so hot, the pizzas cook in about three minutes. Lots of fun! Oh, most toppings should be sautéed in advance since the cooking time in the oven is so short. (Requested donation of $8).
At dusk, we get the bonfire going so guests can relax in hand-built Adirondack chairs to watch the fire and the stars. There is no “light pollution” so it is an amazing experience to see thousands of stars, night clouds, moonscapes.
Enjoy getting your breakfast eggs from the henhouse --- our chickens will be laying their first eggs at the end of July 2021. Our flock of chickens and ducks are fun to watch as they free range all over the property. The ducklings enjoy it when there is fresh water run into their little swimming pool --- they are so joyous when they’re in water. The ducks are sweet but shy away from people (oh no! humans!). Unlike the chickens that wander all day and come back together to the coop only to sleep, the ducks are co-dependent and stick together all the time; if one duck is separated, they all quack until they get back together. So yes, country life can be noisy with the chickens cackling and the ducks quacking!
And of course there is Sammy Dog, a lab/shepherd mix, who bounds around the property, visiting all our guests, laying down on the porch and steps waiting for people to come home. Be careful coming down the driveway because he sometimes leaps unexpectedly in front of cars all goofy and happy. He can come in and even sleep over if you want (just send us a text message so we know where he is).
Our cabins are set up for visiting dogs, but unfortunately we cannot host dogs in the tents.
The lake is three miles down the winding road …13th Lake it is called and it is just beautiful. Totally natural and quiet with no sign of civilization on its shores. The Hudson River is at the bottom of our mountain; clear beautiful water; you go tubing or rafting with the various rafting companies located right nearby.
The town of North Creek is five miles away off the main Route 28 road but it’s easy to miss so look for the 3 or 4 signs that mark the entrance to “town”. North Creek is a scenic little town with some great restaurants, a grocery store, liquor store, some shopping places and a scenic train called the Saratoga/North Creek Railroad which takes folks in antique train cars along the Hudson River.
Another great experience is nearby Garnet Hill Lodge, an historic lodge offering lunches and dinners … beautiful property, amazing views, great food. It’s located right up the road in North River. They rent mountain bikes and have all kinds of walking trails.
Lots and lots more to do … check our online Guide Book for more suggestions!
So .... Enjoy amazing mountain day views and glorious stargazing by night ... this might be the most special vacation you’ve ever had! Quiet and tranquil … safely and privately located at the edge of our Hobby Farm where you can enjoy a beautiful tent, ducks and chickens, and sweet lab dog.
If you're looking for additional space, we have other cottages on the property as well ... Authentic Adirondack Bird Camp which has two bedrooms. Our other cabins have one bedroom: Farmstand Guest House, Camp Hudsonview, Camp TwoSome, Camp Lillian and Camp Bossie, all of which are listed on this site.

I don't like water beds but can tolerate them for a night. But this bed was rock hard. As a result I slept poorly and was tired the entire next day. Also the men's shower valve needs replacement. I only got a slow flow with lukewarm water. A guest shouldn't have to spend 30 minutes figuring out how the shower works when you can get a new control valve in Home Depot for $50.

Love the property and its location. Wifi was a little spotty. For the most part peaceful and quiet. A little nousy my last day but children will be children. I would love to come again.

This property was amazingly cute. Very welcoming and very accommodating. Communication was great, warm and friendly. The wood fired pizzas were delishish. The glamp was clean and very cozy. We didnt get to spend a bunch of time there due to other obligations but the time we dis spend was great. Will definitely do it again. Only suggestion would be to maybe add washcloths for usage in the bathroom. Thank you!

This is a very pretty hobby farm with some very good attributes and some small issues. The check in process is lacking in details such as the hot tub was wayyyyy through a field and down a road that required a walk in the dark.....I was lucky to get a ride on a golf cart down. The hot tub, which required a $25 fee, was awful - the lights didn't work and the hot tub smelled like a frog pond. The good parts were the heated water bed I slept in - so comfy and bathrooms and a kitchenette were right near my tent. The neighbors (there were quite a few other guests in tents in the same field)stayed up late talking and laughing and this made it difficult to get to sleep. So, overall I would give it a 3.5 to 4 stars.

Relaxing and very nice being so close to the water. It’s pretty far off the road but very worth it! Would definitely stay again!

Our stay at North River Hobby Farm in the Adirondacks was awesome! The property is beautiful with rolling hills, flowering meadows, some buildings, and some glamping tents. Our tent had a king size bed, sofa, & oriental rug, as well as fan and bedside table lamps.
Everything was well thought out. There is a little lodge with mini kitchens for the campers. All the buildings are charming, bathroom, workshop, pizza room. There is a wood burning stove for pizza which Leslie (the owner ) made for us one night. On the property is a Japanese sauna with amazing views, chickens, ducks, cats, and a faithful dog.
Sitting around the campfire is AWESOME! One night the sky was crystal clear and was covered in stars. There was a meteor shower and we saw the Milky Way along with many other constellations. That night we saw over 12 shooting stars!!! Getting to know your fellow campers if you like, is great too.
There is so much to do in the area. We hiked, read tombstones at an old cemetary, went canoeing, swimming, explored nearby towns, shopped, hung out by the fire, & took a railbike adventure over the Hudson.
It was a perfect long weekend! The place is great and so much to do in the area!

Amazing getaway... quiet and peaceful.
Love the tents, the cabins and the overall experience was amazing. I guess it was when we had gone but it was a wall of bugs during the day. Other than that, it was perfect

The owner has a small house with a genuine wood burning oven to make pizza which she provides for guests for a reasonable fee. There is a chicken coop with free range chickens which are fun to watch and they provide eggs for guests.

Just returned from a 2 night stay at Glamp Richard with my wife and daughter. It is truly a special place. Roomy canvas cabin with access to a 2nd (wood) cabin with very clean bathrooms and a third (wood) cabin with cooking facilities and refrigerators for each unit. Fire pit for making smores at night, roaming chickens and ducks, and proximity to lots of fun Adirondack adventures. Leslie is a very kind hostess who has created such a unique place to visit.

Welcoming, friendly onsite owner. Super peaceful & luxurious if you love camping but are traveling light (a la motorcycle) or just dread the work of set up & tear down. Loved it so much I’m already planning my next stay.

This is an ideal getaway for those who want the camping experience without really "roughing it". My wife and I booked a spur-of-the-moment trip the day before we arrived. The booking was painless, especially given the short notice and the property met and exceeded our expectations. The tent was very clean, comfortable and in great condition. This property is really off the grid. Sitting on the deck, you hear absolutely no traffic noise, just the birds and crickets chirping. Each tent has front and back decks. There are chickens, ducks, a friendly golden lab (Sammy Dog) who all make their way over to pay a visit, walking right in if the notion strikes. I had to shoo one of the chickens out, which was a real hoot...the tent doors zip up, so you needn't worry about unexpected intrusions at night...GPS and cell coverage is very hit-or-miss in this area, so you should be sure to print turn-by-turn directions beforehand. There is internet available on the property that you can jump onto, so you're not completely out of touch once you get there. There is the small village of North Creek about 5 miles down the road where there are a few eateries, but we wound up buying a roast chicken and sides at the local supermarket and bringing it back to camp. There are picnic tables and grill and fire pit on the property as well as a very nice and clean renovated barn with a kitchen, bathroom and living area. This serves as a sort of communal cooking and convenience station. There are pots, pans, fridge, etc. and some food items that I think other campers have left behind, e.g. dry cereal, granola, etc. The owner Leslie, is a pleasure to deal with and very accommodating. We definitely plan to go back for another stay maybe later in the fall.
