About this cabin rental
Indoor gas fireplace, 2 satellite televisions, telephone, microwave, fully equipped kitchen, board games, charcoal grill, washer and dryer, two docks at different parts of the river, two fire pits, firewood for purchase at $20/wheelbarrow, lawn and deck furniture, high speed wireless internet.
Private maintained road access to ATV and snowmobile trails. Swimming at nearby lakes, golfing, fishing, canoeing, kayaking and hunting. Nearby Wolf River rafting, Ed's Lake and Hemlock cross country ski trails, Mole Lake Casino and Potawatomi Casino.
2800 sq. ft of gravel parking area for RV's and trailers in addition to the long, wide drive for easy turn-around. Ideal for ATVers and snowmobilers.
Access the Wolf River Snowmobile Trail 1/2 mile on private road or the Lumberjack Memorial Snowmobile Trail 1 mile on Woodlawn Road. These connect to the Tombstone Pickerel trails to the south, and the 100 Mile Snow Safari to the north.
The private road, driveway and parking area are plowed throughout the snow season.
Enjoy cross country skiing at nearby Ed's Lake or Hemlock Lake. The trails have a nice variety of hills through the forest.
Take a young family downhill skiing at Kettlebowl, in Bryant, a 30 minute drive. This is a low cost family oriented ski hill. An hour's drive will get you to Ski Brule, in Brule, Michigan.
Enjoy the water: Canoe or kayak a short distance (5-10 minutes of paddling) from the property on Lily River to Lily Lake. Paddle the lake or continue on the Lily River outlet to Burgt’s Last Resort (45 minute paddle there). This is a very quiet trip.
Trailer your boat to any number of nearby lakes: Jungle Lake (no wake), Pickerel Lake, Crane Lake, Lake Arbutus, Robert's Lake, Lake Metonga or to the Lily Lake Landing.
Those looking for a sandy bottom may enjoy Lake Metonga or Crystal Lake. These lakes are a 15 - 20 minute drive away.

We did an extended family getaway and with 3 little kids and 3 older teens it was very accommodating. The photos do not do it any justice as we were blown away upon driving up and walking in. The property and surrounding area was breathtaking and quiet and super easy access to the stream and available kayaks and canoes made it that much better. Will be staying again for sure.

Cabin was spacious and family friendly. Youg kids enjoyed swings and finding frogs near the creek. Large outdoor fire pit gave us plenty of room for us all to enjoy and the fact that it was above ground level made me more comfortable to have the younger kids around it as well. Kaying was easy from dock to lake and so peaceful. Enjoyed seeing a rabit daily in the yard, Eagles and nesting area near mouth if creek and a few families if geese and ducks.
Only thing I felt needed updating would be furniture in living room and basement area... They have been used extensively and not real comfortable for sitting in any longer

Everything was very nice from the cabin, to the property, to the location. Had a lot of fun and met some fun people along the way! Would definitely stay again!

The pictures, while nice, don’t give this property justice. The place is amazing. Beautiful surroundings with a creek snaking through woods. It’s very private. There are neighbors, but the lots there are ~2+ acres so you don’t see or hear anything except birds chirping. The house is a hit. Layout is great, bedrooms are spread out and there’s a large loft with bunkbeds to keep kids corralled at bed time. The only thing we regret is not staying longer. We definitely will return.

This home is just what we were looking for as a get away and family Christmas! The home was just the right size that the whole family could stay in one place but still have room, I have stayed at many places but this was truly the best, cleanliness, dishes, towels, and so many stocked things in case you forgot! Thank you for sharing your beautiful home. We will be back for sure.

Our family has spent many vacations at Schumacher’s and always enjoy their place. The outdoor space, especially the fire pit, is wonderful and the cabin has all the comforts of home. We will be back!

We had an amazing weekend. Even tho it rained we made the best of and played games. The place was peaceful but had lots to do. We went 4 wheeling canoeing had a bonfire played games and enjoyed our family time.

Be forewarned this place is truly in the middle of nowhere which was nice for privacy but all of the restaurants but one were at least 15 minutes away. We had a really great stay. It was myself, my husband, my sister and her husband. The layout was nice with three levels of accommodations. The upper level was beautiful with two king bedrooms and other beds but since there is no bathroom on that level, we were unable to use those bedrooms to sleep in. The main level had one king bedroom, living room, kitchen and a full bath. The lower level had one king bedroom with other beds in the common area. That level also had a full bath so it worked out well. The lower level also had furnishings, a flat screen tv, a nice picnic type table and a refrigerator. The lower level carpet was in bad shape with stains everywhere. I'm not sure if it could be steamcleaned or removed and replaced. The deck was gorgeous, the firepit area was very nice as well. The river level next to the property was very low so we were unable to fish from there and we were worried about the canoes getting stuck. All in all though it was a very relaxing stay with family. We would stay there again.

The pictures online do not do this cabin justice. Great property and location. Welcoming atmosphere! Lot of room. Beds and living area furniture were comfortable. Climate control was excellent. Fire pit area is ideal location for great views and family time. You may see a few deer. Great walkout and easy access to canoe and kayaks. Short stretch 10 minute to paddle to Lake Lily. Plenty of kitchen utensils and cookware. Very private location. We will be back next summer. Great communication with owners. Quick to respond.

Pictures do not do this property justice! Beautiful place tucked away in the woods! The house is stunning and roomy with lots of games and beautiful deck and outdoor fire pit area. The children loved wading in the river off the dock catching cray fish and splashing with the dogs. Crystal clear water! Our family retreat was a great success here!

When we stayed here it's reminded us of homemade apple pie with vanilla ice cream on top.

The Schumacher cabin is really designed to accommodate large groups with many beds and gathering spaces … but for us the fact that we could come with our dogs made it perfect. No visible neighbors so dogs could run the property without worry. Bigger pups would also enjoy the River/creek. The owner was really great to work with. Property is very well maintained and appointed.

Fully Stocked Remote Cabin on the River
We had family up from Texas and in from Germany. We had such a great time at the cabin. It was FULLY stocked with every detail in mind, baggo’s, hammock, games to every kitchen item including spices and mixers and can opener. We loved the canoes and took the kids to Lily Lake - absolutely beautiful! (Life vests were available in all sizes.) My niece and little cousins both caught their first fish right off the pier. Saw lots of crawfish, trout, large mouth bass and striped bass. Saw deer and a ton of birds. Had a nice bonfire out back - wood available on site for purchase and chairs already stocked around the pit. Overall, our family had a great stay and would look forward to coming back in the future! Thanks, Dave for all of the thoughtful details and information.

50th anniversary family gathering
We found the location to be perfect for a family getaway for our 50th wedding anniversary. The cabin provided a comfortable, well stocked home that made us feel very relaxed. The kitchen had all we needed and more, the bedrooms quite lovely, the privacy and quiet so peaceful. We used the fire pit, canoed on the river to Lake Lily, watched movies at night and enjoyed cooking our own meals and eating together. The Northwoods could be experienced at its fullest here!
