It is a lovely property and Nancy is a wonderful host. The only drawback was some inaccuracies in the listing, but we still had a great time.

The views were so beautiful and very peaceful!
The home has memorabelia from the surrounding areas that were very interesting. The beds were very comfortable and we enjoyed the sunroom with a view
Of the extensive gardens and flowers. Even in the rain there were multiple places to sit to enjoy the water. Host was very friendly and gave us lots of helpful hints!

We arrived Sunday afternoon for our honeymoon, and met Nancy there. She is most gracious and welcoming!
After a rainy Monday spent relaxing after a hectic 2 weeks prior (we planned our own wedding), the rest of our week was sunny and seasonably cool for mid-September.
The house is in the middle of quiet woods, storybook charming, cozy, fully appointed for a week's vacation. We couldn't have asked for a better setting/location! Did I mention the house is perfect? Spotless! The view of the inlet below the house is stunning. We saw eagles, cormorants, other birds, seals, and watched the tides ebb and flow from the deck. Walking back towards the main road, there were egrets and herons at the causeway to the island. Nancy said there might be deer about, but weren't seen.
Seriously, there are no superlatives to adequately describe our enjoyment! Eat a meal on the deck or inside in a delightful addition to the main house, or for a more formal setting, in the dining room. Nancy has cultivated some lovely flowers about the outside guarded by gnomes.
Everything is provided including linens. Stop at the grocery in Brunswick before you arrive, or there are a few local convenience stores in the area; you must bring your own food.
Speaking of food, there's plenty of opportunities to sample the very freshly caught seafood and other delights for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Play tourist and explore! You won't be disappointed! We'll be back, for sure.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Nancy was so welcoming and we so enjoyed our conversations. The house is very comfortable and peaceful, it’s all on one floor. Sitting on the deck in the evenings, overlooking the water of Long Reach inlet you can “hear” the silence and watch the sunset. Beautiful view of the water as well from the living room and the sunroom. Her flower gardens bring a smile to your face. A great place to go to get away from the day to day rush.

Nancy was super friendly. We spent most of our time on the back porch looking at the water. We enjoyed a very relaxing stay at a beautiful location.

Nancy, was an incredible host with an incredible place.....you can tell from the moment you arrive how much pride and love Nancy has for the home and the great state of Maine. The house has amazing views from the deck to watch the sunrise and sunset or just to sit and relax all day....the place was clean as a whistle and tucked quietly away of the beaten path.....we enjoyed how much enthusiasm Nancy brought to informing us about the area and the house she grew up in.....if we come back Nancy is our go to!

I loved this house! It’s out of the way, but so close to anything you could ever want to see in mid coast Maine. It was like coming home every time we drove down the road, over the causeway and up to the house. It was so quiet and peaceful and our host Nancy was such a huge help in giving recommendations for our daily adventures. She is very knowledgeable about the area. She was always available but never in our way. The house has been lived in and loved. It’s not a sterile, no personality place to be there only to sleep. It’s the kind of place you want to look around and explore. I especially loved the view from the back deck and all the pretty flowers. I would love to visit again some day.

Very nice location, very quiet and remote. Nice views of the ocean tidal flats from the house. The site needs WiFi and a better tv and the rugs were a little too dusty for my allergies.

Great peaceful getaway centrally located to just about everything we wanted to see. Loved it and the local history Nancy provided.

This home is beautifully situated on a peninsula in a quiet, peaceful spot overlooking tidal waters. It’s well-furnished, with comfortable rooms for sleeping and spectacular deck and sunroom. The owner, Nancy, stays nearby and is accessible—very helpful in helping us plan outings to see local sights. She’s also charming and fun to talk with.
A special feature are the well-loved gardens—with various places to sit and enjoy the flowers as you look out over the water.
The house is close to Freeport and Portland to the south and mid-coast Maine to the north, excellent for daytrips. Nancy leaves plenty of information about things to see/do to make your trip enjoyable. There is no wifi, but we were able to use our phones as hotspots.
We would absolutely return to this vacation spot. Highly recommend.

Beautiful and peaceful location
The house is very homey, nicely secluded, and on the water. From the deck we could see many fish jumping, seals, bald eagles, and ospreys. The owner is very welcoming and gave us the local information.
The house is a fantastic location to go to the mid-coast Maine attractions and explore the rocky shores.

Did not meet our expectations.
Nancy is a lovely person and the garden is unique. However, the house left a lot to be desired..mostly in the kitchen. THE dishwasher was broken, the trash compactor was broken with the door hanging partially off…rusty and moldy inside. The cabinets and work surfaces were “grimy” and we felt like we had to wash all the dishes and pans before using them.
One bedroom was fine, the other had a really hard mattress. Sheets and towels were ok.
In general we felt the house had not been thoroughly cleaned before we arrived.
There was no internet and the TV was attached to an antenna which did not work very well.
We would not recommend this rental in its current state.

Majestic Get-A-Way!!
This property is located on a beautiful little private (well literally saw one other vehicle besides our own) back road. It is set up on an inlet from the ocean with a lot of wildlife including 3 bald eagles that have made a home right by the cottage. The back deck over looks the water and is amazing with the sunset in the distance.
The property itself is what you would expect in a Maine country cottage. It was very clean and cozy! The master has it's own bathroom and the second bathroom is located right next to the other 2 bedrooms. There is a sunroom which we used for a game room at night. The cottage was stocked with everything we needed, pots and pans, dishes, towels and linens.
The property is located in the perfect spot, with Brunswick being right down the road you have access to Walmart, Groceries, restaurants and everything you need and as far as tourism goes, it is in the perfect spot as well. Amazing beaches, lighthouses and nature trails are all within a reasonable driving distance from the cottage.
The best part of the property would have to be Nancy, the hostess! She is a wonderful lady full of knowledge about the property and history of the town. She has all kinds of information in the dining room for guests to over look and she is such a nice person!!
If you are looking for a 5 star hotel with all the amenities I would recommend you book yourself a 5 start hotel. If you are looking for a quiet / private country cottage that is part of the history of the little town of Harpswell, this is the place for you!!

Unplug, unwind in Harpswell
Navy was a very gracious host who made sure we had everything we needed. Her knowledge of the area was amazing and we took many of her recommendations. The cottage is within easy driving distance of Boothbay, Freeport and Popham Beach. We loved sitting on the deck, listening to the birds and watching the sunset with a glass of wine!

Relaxing stay on Long Reach
The owner was spectacular. Our flight arrived late and she knew the nearby restaurants were closing soon. She told us to go eat first and then she would check us in -- which turned out to be just after 9 pm.
The patio / deck was probably the most used space by the 4 of us. We enjoyed visiting and taking in the incredible beauty of the area ... both as we all started the day and especially each evening as the sunset off the horizon from the deck..
We were easy access to Harpswell, Brunswick, Boothbay, Camden and other areas. It was the exact trip that we needed.

Paradise in Harpswell, ME
Wonderful 3 day stay with Nancy Freeman. She greeted us upon arrival. She went through the house with us, the "rules and regulations" in a very thorough way but left it open that she was available at any time to answer questions, and address any concerns. In addition, she shared with us the history of the area of which she was very knowledgeable. We do hope to return at some point to Maine

Nice location, but property needs updating
We booked 6 nights at this property and left after 3 days. While the communication with the owner was lovely and the location was peaceful, the house had many issues and needs some TLC. Here's some of the issues:
- Dirty: The place had obviously not been cleaned professionally. Hard to even open the windows or screen door.
- No Internet
- Flying ant infestation in sunroom (which owner simply says happens every July for 2 weeks with no apology)
- Two double, very hard beds. One with 100% polyester sheets
- Dishwasher: Old, broken.
- Skylight: Slight leak when it rains
- Very old wall to wall carpeting which makes the entire place have a musty smell. My son, who has allergies, immediately started sneezing and coughing.
- House has well water which tastes great, but owner asked that showers be kept to 2 minutes.
When we talked with owner about these issues, her reply was simply that this is a Maine cottage in the wild. We have rented Maine cottages for many summers and never had this poor quality of home.
The owner agreed to refund us the 3 days, but when we got home only provided 2 nights refund as she said we left too late in the day (even though we discussed the refund that afternoon of departure).
The location is quiet and peaceful and I think the owner is hoping that is all you'll want from this rental. We were so disappointed with the entire experience.

Beautiful Location
We enjoyed our stay in Harpswell. We were there to look at three colleges, but also managed to go to two state beaches that were beautiful. We enjoyed the deck and gardens. Nancy was interesting to talk to and such a kind host.

Just What We Needed!
My family and I had a wonderful stay in Harpswell last week. Nancy was a terrific host and her house was the perfect place to unplug and unwind. We purposefully “forgot” to tell our kids that there was no wi-fi and enjoyed some quality family time. The house was convenient to many great spots in Maine and we spent a good amount of time sitting on the deck – where the views were both peaceful and beautiful. Nancy gave some great suggestions on things to do and places to visit/ dine. We had a great time!

A Little Slice of Heaven
This beautiful, comfortable home with lovely views from every window has everything you need for a peaceful and relaxing stay. We were welcomed by our gracious host, Nancy Freeman, who took great care to ensure that we had a wonderful vacation. We experienced some rain but enjoyed the day by visiting Freeport one day and downtown Brunswick another. We enjoyed the incredible food of Maine during our stay including lobster, diver scallops and seafood chowder from Gurnets which is right down the road.
The gardens surrounding this home are absolutely enchanting and we found ourselves watching the hummingbirds and numerous butterflies instead of the changing tides. Nancy sent us on our way with potted plants from her garden.
If you enjoy listening to the quiet and observing nature up close we happily recommend this home.

Piece of Heaven
For those who love the quiet, a deck on the water and the natural beauty of Maine, this is the place. Great experience, close to many fine restaurants on Harpswell, and things to do from sailing to shopping. Owner was so attentive to our needs and made us feel at home in her corner of heaven!! THANKS

A tranquil retreat surrounded in nature.
Would I return? Absolutely! I loved sitting on the deck listening to the sound of the tides and ocean birds. I even spotted a bald eagle in the marshes! The gardens on the property were tranquil and magical, I have never seen so many butterflies and hummingbirds! Tucked away in a forest, this house is a retreat from all of the negativity on the news and in the media. Nancy the owner is such a great person! She is very knowledgeable about the area and provided us with good recommendations. I really enjoyed speaking with her and felt that she genuinely cared about our comfort and accommodations. The house was clean and charming. The kitchen contained everything we could possibly need. I would highly recommend this house for people who appreciate nature, photography, writing or are simply soul searching. The house is also close enough to the "outside world" if you are looking for great restaurants, stores and entertainment.

Little bit of paradise
Quiet and peaceful to the extreme; a lovely garden complete with stepping stones and many little surprises; a comfortable, lovingly decorated home with lots of windows privately situated in the woods next to the inlet. If you are into modern and sleek, this home is not for you. No Wifi and TV reception wasn't great. If you are looking for an amazing retreat to watch wildlife and tides, or just relax, read, or think, this little bit of paradise is perfect.

Beautiful, relaxing getaway
If you're looking to relax in a beautiful setting, this is the place! This lovely home is tucked away in the pines with beautiful sunsets. Very private, with lots of beautiful flower gardens. Nancy our host was the best, she was very accommodating. We have been traveling to Harpswell for the past 10 years, and this has been our favorite place.

Secluded, comfortable and eclectic home on a beautiful Maine inlet
We loved our stay! Nancy welcomed us into her family home, telling us stories about the area's history. The house was perfect for our family of four, and we felt right at home from the first day. Quiet mornings in the sun room, watching the water from our deck, checking out the fun garden gnomes... Overall, this is a quiet, relaxed and comfortable place to stay. Nancy is incredibly welcoming and friendly. She is so helpful with suggestions on great beaches to explore, places to eat, and things to see and do. Don't miss the Botanical Gardens in Boothbay!

A perfect summer vacation place with a great house, and even better views.
Our vacation on Long Reach was sure one to remember. The water was easily accessible, the house and views were great, and the host, Nancy, was wonderful.
When we first got there, Nancy greeted us with a warm smile. As she gave us a tour around the house, she told us many historical stories and some about her childhood. Nancy was wonderful with the kids also. She made sure that the kids had fun. She had a basketball hoop and a soccer goal. Each night, Nancy also had fantastic restaurant suggestions.
The cottage was amazing. The kids enjoyed playing in the sun room. Many nights we would sit outside on the porch and watch the sunset. In fact, one morning we saw eagles flying to a tree. There was a great view of the water from the porch.
During our stay, we also went down to the water. The kids had a lot of fun exploring. While playing in the water, our son found many hermit crabs. We also found many shells, and a horseshoe crab. It was really exciting to watch the tide change. We went down to the water at low tide, and high tide. The drastic tide change was amazing.
Our Maine vacation was action packed. We went on a whale watching tour in Booth Bay, visited the Giant's Stairs, and much more. We hope to come back in the future.

Doesn't get any better than this!
We had two couples that wanted to get away from the hustle and bustle, but still close enough to enjoy the best parts of Maine.
First and foremost, the owner, Nancy, is without a doubt, the best host we have ever met. Nancy only cares about making her guest comfortable and happy. Whatever we needed or had questions about, Nancy was there to help us through it (she knows the area real well).
The home that we stayed at was oh so comfortable and "quiet". The view from the deck looking out towards the bay area was tranquil and peaceful. If you want a place to get away from it all, but still be close to restaurants and coastal areas, this is the perfect place to be.
We were lucky enough to be there when the Blue Angels were performing and boy what a treat that was. It was if we had our own show!
Can't say enough about the place. Two nice bedrooms and two nice baths. Nice and roomy and decorated with charm and beauty. Can't wait to go back again!

Heaven on earth
Nancy is wonderful. She gave us a detailed tour of the property and recommended numerous places to visit. The place is quiet beautiful and homey. We saw dear running around the property and Nancy lent us a lobster pot. The high and low tides reminded us of the Bay of Fundy.
Aside from the beauty of Harpswell, Nancy is aa most interesting person. Had her over for wine. What fun
