The view from this house is to die for. We loved all of the space we had to spread out in the main living area. Everything was comfortable and it was very clean. We would stay here again in a heartbeat!

We had a short as we were working around the ring road but this was our longest stop. The location is great, short drive into town and a good base trip explore the nearby geothermal areas and northeast in general. The beds were very comfortable and the kitchen was great! The view is so relaxing! Great Place!

Our family of 6 stayed in this amazing house near Akureyri during a 12 day holiday. There is ample parking space and the directions given are super helpful. The house is immaculately kept und well equipped. The rooms are super spacious und have all (and more) of what is needed. I have never been in such a well equipped kitchen before - in any rental home. The view over the river is spectacular, especially from the hot tub. Akureyri and the area around over a wide variety of things to do. We went hiking (up Mount Súlur and others), whale watching (Husavik), visited waterfalls (biggest one was Godafoss), horse riding (farm Eyjardalsá near Godafoss) and did the Zipline Tour over the river in Akureyri (Zipak). We also visited the forest lagoon, but the local pool is heated as well and that overs slides and other things for smaller children to do. I recommend to buy fresh fish from the Fisk Kompani in the Bonus supermarket in Akureyri.
The landlord is very nice and responds very quickly to questions. Minor repairs (things can always break), are done super fast.
As there is a utility room (again very generously sized) next to the big garage with a washing machine and a dryer, I can imagine using this house in winter as well. There is a skiing area near by and snow mobile tours are offered.
I can only recommend the property to anybody wanting to visit the north of Iceland.

Wonderful Stay in Akureyri!

We really enjoyed our stay. The place was easy to find and check into, instructions were clear and the views are amazing. We would return.

We loved this home, especially how large it was! Hot tub was nice with a wonderful view, but know it takes about 1.5 hours till it is ready. Super nice master bath and larger than normal bedrooms. Plenty of space! Top notch! Convenient location.

We were blown away with how spacious and beautiful the house was, and even more amazed by the stunning view of the mountains. Served as a great central spot for 3 nights to venture around the area and up to Husavik. The hot tub was easy to use and we took advantage of it each night. Perfect kitchen for making at home meals and more comfortable living room than most offer. The host provided so much information on what to do and see. We were sad to leave!

We came to Akureyri for the Artic Open. The house was perfect for us. The hot tub was fantastic and the house was fully stocked. Having the washer/dryer with soap was great too. Really appreciated our stay and would highly recommend. Beautiful view.
Just remember to bring toiletries (none provided; we didn't notice that in the listing).
4.9
All in all a great home and the photos and descriptions were accurate. The only issue we had was that the hot tub did not work and could not be fixed during our 5 night stay.

While the snow blocked us from enjoying the first night, we managed to white knuckle drive theough late hours to arrive early morning the second night.
Immediately we were disappointed that we missed a night this location was amazing, really its walking distance down hill to the Forrest lagoon, and a 5 min drive into town.
Beds were comfortable, it was extremely clean and the old school classic hot tub looked perfect.
Thank you for allowing us to stay and for setting up the perfect spot for friends to gather in beautiful Iceland.

Amazing views and an amazing space. Huge and comfortable home with all the amenities, close to the best spa in Iceland and the beautiful city of Akureyri. Owner was very responsive and accommodating and hot tub was an added luxury that was well appreciated. Overall an excellent stay, very highly recommend for any kind of weather or adventure.

Amazing property just minutes from Akureyri centre, and close to most activities in this area and Diamond circle. The house is comfortable and has everything you need for a nice stay. Our favourite part was the outdoor hot tub, especially late at night while enjoying the spectacular Northern lights (two nights in a row).
Looking forward to come back during summer time!

The house was in great condition sitting on the side of a snow covered mountain and overlooking Akureyri. It was overcast every night, yet on our last night it cleared up and we fulfilled our bucket list of seeing the Northern Lights around midnight from the driveway of the house.
Highly recommend this house, and before, during and after we left, Thomas was very responsive to every message we left for him.

Beautiful location and property.. very clean and tidy..well apointed facilities. Great hot tub..lighting was a bit confusing but managed to sort it out by the end (our fault).couldn’t get any tv channels working or the sound system..minor issues really as we was out most of the time..i did find the bedding wasn’t warm enough at night and might suggest bigger and warmer quilt . And only 3 beds made up and couldn’t access any additional bedding.but would recommend this property and we would stay again if we come back to Akureyri.

Big and cosy house. Stayed there with my family for 3 nights.

It was Great. Thes house is large and feels very luxurious.
The house is larger than it looks on the pictures. The hot tub was just genius. I am so glad I found it.

Great central location to enjoy daily excursions in Northern Ireland. Very spacious. Loved the hot tub, every day!!

We were so pleased with our stay at Nollur Leifsstadir! It is very close to town, and at the same time very private - a great combination. We received a very detailed and informative guide to the property ahead of our stay. It included not just good information about the house but also about activities, restaurants etc. We can verify that Bakaríid vid Bruna is a fantastic bakery, and Strikid is a really good restaurant. (We went for Sunday brunch and it was lovely.)
The view from the large living area was so good that we did not even have to go outside to see the northern lights!
The kitchen was adequately supplied, bed was very comfortable as was the living room furniture. Bathroom was very nice with an *amazing* shower. It was especially helpful to have access to washer and dryer.
And we loved the hot tub which gave us a view of the fjord and the chance to stargaze and listen to ducks and geese. Unlike a Jacuzzi, this tub is so simple: flip a switch inside the house to fill it with perfect clean, clear (no chemicals) very warm (~101°F) water, wait about an hour, then soak to your heart’s content. Afterwards, flip the switch back to drain the water. Perfect!
I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for an exceptional stay in Akureyri.

House is great. big and bright. The inside it might be more of a villa. It is out given for eight people but only has 3 beer glasses and 3 red vin glasses.
The lamp in the living room is broken and taped up and tv old and small. Outside is a big terrace but no comfort in sheers or anything there . Also I would recommend cleaning stuff for the guest if they need.
4.9
For our family's gathering this house was perfect. Awesome location. Awesome view. Perfection simply.
4.9
We stayed at this property for 5 days. Beautiful location with views into the fjord and mountains. Cannot beat the hot tub for an end of day soak after hiking hard.
Location:
The house is a mile outside the city which is convienent. It's 1 to 1.5 hrs from Havik (whales), Myvatn (geothermal), Gotafoss, Drangey (puffins) and most of the "true" northern attractions.
Beds:
It says it sleeps 8 but I would say comfortable sleep could be found for 6 adults and 2 kids. If someone is willing to sleep on a hard fold out and or living room couch you could stretch it to 8 adults (be aware if you have back problems, the beds are not great). Bring a pillow if you can as there is only 1 per person.
Kitchen:
Has most of the basic things you might need. Limited cookware will hamper a chef but basic cold meals can be done. We were a bit disappointed that the knives there were poor quality and dull as we did a fishing trip and brought fish back to clean but had no way to do so with these knives.
Washer and Dryer:
Washer works great and can handle small/med loads. Also provided detergent which was nice to avoid wasting a bunch. The dryer simply doesnt dry, you need to run 2 or 3 cycles tonget clothes dry. Alternatively you can use the clothes line outside which works fine if not in a rush.
Administration:
We had some great interactions with the host as well the management/cleaner. Seemed like it was wellmanaged.

Views from this house are awesome. It’s quiet, peaceful. Fabulous open kitchen for cooking as a big group. Plenty of space for the 6 of us. House was well equipped, very comfortable. Nice furnishings, beds, and appliances, like you’d want in your own home. Communications with hosts was really smooth.
Location is terrific. Just a few minutes to the ring road and Akureyri. Easy access to many sites, great hiking, only 1 hr to Myvatn area.

This was an amazing home in an excellent location about 8 minutes from Akureyri. The views were breathtaking and we loved the layout of the home. Washer and dryer both worked. We used the hot tub every night and thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

This place is amazing. Beautiful modern house, super comfy beds, very well equipped kitchen, the most amazing views, perfect location, and quick communication from the owner / property manager. The hot tub wasn’t working when we arrived and they sent someone out to look at it as soon as possible and also were super cool about making up for the days we didn’t have a hot tub (and they got it working by the end!) We were here close to the summer solstice and we’re all dreaming of coming back in winter. We loved Akureyri and the surrounding area and this was the perfect home base and so quiet and peaceful. I’ve stayed at a lot of rental properties for work and pleasure and this is absolutely one of my favorites ever.

The property creates an experience that immerses you the beauty of Northeast Iceland. Overall a great place but as the saying goes, the devil is in the details. A couple of features, the washer and dryer, the outdoor hot tub did not function reliably during our stay. Otherwise the ambiance of this place was wonderful.
4.9
The house is designed for relaxation. Just 5 minutes away from downtown Akureryi but far enough away for a peaceful vacation. Overlooking the city, you won't find a better view.

This large, modern home is in a perfect location to have a beautiful view of the nearby mountains, harbor and town. It's very relaxing and a very quiet area. The views from the home are absolutely stunning.
The home is in a very convenient location, and it's just a few minutes to the town, and it's even closer to get to the new public hot spring spa. Highly recommend that. We also did a day trip to the Myvatn area, and that was a wonderful scenic tour of the volcanic region.
The home has everything that one needs for cooking and relaxation, and the hot tub was easy to setup and use. Our group enjoyed everything and we would definitely return back for another visit since there are many more things to see. Frank for the Group

As part of our round Iceland tour we stayed at this wonderful property for just 3 nights. The location and facilities in the house were faultless. We took full advantage of the Hot tub in spite of a bitingly cold wind. The kitchen/dining/sitting area is immense and well appointed.
During our few days here we visited the new Forest Lagoon, went riding and skiing as well as a trip to Husavik home to Eurovision.
Our communication with the owner was excellent and no problems were encountered once we got the hang of the light switches !!!

Our family enjoyed relaxing at this wonderful home with a view.

Thomas has a very nice place which is setup very well. The house is well kept and has all the modern amenities. During our stay unfortunately the Hot Tub was not working due to the cold weather. We tried to to reach to the property manager and I would say they are the most unresponsive management I have seen. Otherwise we had a great stay and enjoyed Iceland.
Thomas was gracious enough to give a small discount for the Hot Tub fiasco.

We had a lovely stay in this gorgeous and well-appointed home. Plenty to do nearby including staying in and appreciating the view. If you have kids, check out the Akureyri Swimming Pool particularly in the colder months when the outdoor thermal pools will blow their minds. Caretaker was very responsive and kind.

This home is pictured exactly as online and it is beautiful. Easy to find. If you are traveling in the winter season I would encourage you to get a suitable vehicle as the street is uphill and the driveway is a bit challenging to navigate. Beautiful view of downtown Akureyri and close to incredible restaurants and the Forest lagoon. The only negative during our stay was the pipes froze to the hot tub, this is a big negative for us as this was a key reason for us booking this house and the plumber/electrician were unable to fix it. The local contact was very responsive and helpful!
4.9
Wow! The house was a lot larger, more beautiful and more luxurious than we expected! And the view is absolutely amazing! The hot tub is also very nice.
The “smart” light system took some getting used to. And not all beds were equally comfortable. But all in all, we had a wonderful stay and would certainly recommend this wonderful place!

This was our second stay at your home and it was another amazing trip to Iceland, this time with my sister and adult niece. We caught the northern lights twice from the back deck and they didn’t disappoint. Ending the day in the hot tub and with a fire in the fireplace was the perfect relaxation we needed. The house is comfortable and a great jumping off location to do lots of things in the north. We went dog sledding, snowmobiling, visited Myvatn and the Vogafjos farm. I wish there was more snow but we enjoyed our stay regardless! Thank you!

Our family had a fantastic visit in Akureyri. The house was very well located and was incredibly clean and comfortable. Tons of storage and everything needed in the kitchen, even a great coffee maker. We loved the view, and my kids loved the snow. It was a perfect visit and close to a lot of nearby sites.

We have been in this villa Leifsstaðir so many times and we love it every time. The villa is amazing, the location is great, the view is stunning. The host is very helpful. We will be back to this house soon again. Thanks.
